Chapter 100 - Walking on the Park

"Indeed," Zhang Liang replied and took out his phone.

Feng Mian eyed Zhang Liang curiously. Back when they ate in that simple restaurant, Zhang Liang simply ignored the staff and didn't let it bother him. He simply never visited that restaurant ever again when he came to fetch her from the hospital.

Zhang Liang didn't need to wait long before the call was connected. "Good morning."

"Morning Zhang Liang, why are you calling me so early in the morning?"

"Your standard of staff has been dwindling lately. I'm eating in your restaurant and there's already a brazen female."

There was the sound of groaning coming out from the other end of the call. Zhang Liang's face was still as calm as ever as he waited for his friend to stop talking. He continued, "You better do something unless you want me to put a bad review for your restaurant."

"Akh, I know, I know. Damn you Zhang Liang, make me work on a peaceful Saturday"

Zhang Liang cut off the call by now. He looked at Feng Mian. "You can start eating."

"Ok."

Thinking of their previous conversation, Feng Mian realized that this restaurant must have belonged to one of Zhang Liang's friends because he dared to speak that way to that person. She was not sure what would happen later, but she knew that the female staff who tried to seduce her customer wouldn't end that well.

Now Feng Mian seemed to gain a better picture of Zhang Liang's temperament. When it was just a normal restaurant, he simply ignored them except if they began to bother him excessively. If it was just a simple gesture and all, he could turn blind eyes because it was just a small restaurant that didn't have any connection with him.

But since this restaurant belonged to his friend, Zhang Liang reported it immediately.

"Eat."

"I still can't use the spoon and fork that well," Feng Mian glared at Zhang Liang. She rarely ate steak.

Why?

Well, it's simple, steak is expensive.

Feng Mian came from an ordinary family and usually ate at home. She would only come to simple restaurants for family gathering with her family once in a while. But even then, they wouldn't pick expensive food and only mostly some simple ones. Even if she could eat steak, it might be only one or two times a year.

But it has been years since the last time she ate steak because she had to focus on her life condition and all. Her meal has been extremely simple every single day because she didn't have the time to cook a lot of food. It was only after entering Zhang Liang's residence did she begin to eat more, but their menu didn't usually include steak.

Zhang Liang frowned when he saw how Feng Mian held the fork and knife. He stood up and moved to her side before holding her hand. "Follow my direction."

"Eh?"

"Watch carefully."

Feng Mian was fl.u.s.tered by Zhang Liang's sudden movement, but she tried to focus on the steak in front of her as Zhang Liang held her hand to show the movement. The fork stabbed the meat and the knife slowly cut the portion. Lastly, the meat entered Feng Mian's mouth.

"Can you do it yourself?"

Sensing Zhang Liang's breath and warmth, Feng Mian felt truly embarrassed. Towards his question, she hurriedly nodded her head in embarrassment. Any longer and she believed that she wouldn't be able to stay calm.

It seemed that she was truly bad.

As Zhang Liang moved back to his chair, he passed a glance at Feng Mian's hand movement. Seeing that she had begun to cut the steak like how he taught her, he nodded internally. It was not that hard, but sometimes, it would be a bit difficult to know the exact strength needed to cut the steak.

And if the knife was not sharp enough… that would be another different story.

Feng Mian tried to cut the meat slowly. She felt a bit frustrated as she saw the bad cut on the meat. Comparing it to the cut Zhang Liang made, she felt even more embarrassed.

Why is using a fork and knife so hard?

It took them some time before they finished eating. Most of the time was spent by Feng Mian to cut her steak. Zhang Liang gave her some other pointers, but he no longer came over to help her. He still remembered her blushing cheek when he came over.

It would be better if he just helped her a bit.

"Even eating needs a lot of effort," Feng Mian commented when they have finished. She truly didn't want to eat a steak again if she had to spend so much effort just to cut the meat. Why do they have to make the meat so hard to cut?

Zhang Liang smiled bitterly. "Let's go and take a walk."

"At this hour?"

"Yes. Morning walk is good for your health."

Feng Mian could only blink her eyes in confusion and followed Zhang Liang. He used the car and took the two of them to a nearby park. The park itself was big. Well, since it was the capital city, Feng Mian had long expected the place to be very different from City F.

"It's very big."

"Yes."

Zhang Liang parked the car and alighted out. He opened the door to Feng Mian's side and offered his hand.

"Shall we go?"

"Ok."

Feng Mian grabbed Zhang Liang's hand as they began to walk. She noticed that he was walking in her pace, not too fast and not too slow. It was a perfect pace for her. With his hand grabbing hers, she felt oddly comfortable.

The wind blew, slapping her cheek in a playful manner as they walked. The sound of bird chirping came from the trees around them, adding the sensation that they were in the middle of a real forest. Smell of trees entered her nose as they walked deeper.

There were a lot of other people around, but Feng Mian didn't pay attention to them. What she cared the most was the rows of trees around her. They were well maintained in this city, though they seem to be lacking in cleaner because the area was completely filled with falling leaves.

"Do you like it?"

Feng Mian raised her head, meeting with Zhang Liang's gaze. She nodded lightly. "Yeah. It's so peaceful and fresh. I liked staying here."

"Good then."

Seeing her looked relaxed, Zhang Liang smiled. He had been feeling a bit weird lately. He felt as if he wanted to see her many expressions over and over again. Seeing her so happy like this, he felt oddly relaxed.

'I'm turning weird… but this feeling is not bad.'

Somehow, he didn't feel repulsive towards this feeling he had. He knew that he also liked to tease his family members and saw their funny expression whenever he created trouble. However, this was somewhat different.

He was still unsure, but he decided to let it be.
