1 Year Of Beginning

Feng Mian looked at Zhang Liang in bewilderment. When he told her that he wanted her to get married to him, he didn't say anything about having him announced the marriage. She thought that he only wanted her to stop Zhang Yi's pestering him to get married and give him a grandchild.

Zhang Liang didn't turn around. He scratched the back of his head. "It's written in the contract you signed before. If it's necessary, you'll accompany me as my wife during my meeting."

"There is?"

Right now, Feng Mian felt like burying her head on the pillow. She only skimmed the contract before because there were so many words that she could not understand. She must have skipped the part where she should act as his wife outside.

"Yes."

"Are you sure it's fine? What if you want to get married in the future and your future…."

"That'll be my problem later," Zhang Liang replied lazily. He didn't really have much interest to date right now. "For now, all I know is that there'll be an opportunity to expand my business, and having you present is important."

Feng Mian's lips twitched. Right, business. There must be some kind of offer that Zhang Liang couldn't reject if he wanted her to participate in the party. Sighing to herself, Feng Mian pulled the blanket up again. She wanted to sleep again.

Ring! Ring!

"Uh, Yu Yan?" Feng Mian picked her phone.

"Hey, are you still on your bed? Your voice is hoarse."

"Indeed." Feng Mian sat up. She rubbed her eyes. "What is it? I thought that they hadn't decided."

"They hadn't, which is why I'm calling to check on your condition. How's your mother?"

"She's getting better."

"That's good. Any news about her discharge?"

"Not yet."

Actually, there was no need for her mother to stay in the hospital all the time, but Feng Mian couldn't possibly take her mother back to the hospital once to twice a day for checkup. The doctor had told her that there was some complication, which made her mother need to be under observation.

Kidney failure could lead to many other problems and Feng Mian didn't want to lose her mother, so she decided to let her mother under the watch of the doctors.

"Aww, I hope she'll get well soon. You should take care of yourself too, Mian'er."

"Don't worry. I know."

"Ack, the Supervisor is here. Talk to you again later."

"Kay."

Feng Mian looked at her phone amusedly. It was the rule that they were not allowed to play with their phone during work time except if it was related to work. She put it away and prepared herself.

"Good morning, Madam," Butler Lou greeted when Feng Mian walked out of the room.

Feng Mian smiled. "Good morning, Butler Lou. I'll be going to Hotel H later in the afternoon. There'll be a reunion with my university friends."

Butler Lou nodded. "Is there anything I need to prepare?"

"No need, just tell Chef Lu to not cook too much for my lunch."

"I understand, Madam."

For the morning, Feng Mian spent her time to start her second painting. This time, she wanted to draw the time when she was in elementary school. She would be making a picture of several children playing on a courtyard with a fountain nearby.

In the afternoon, Feng Mian dressed up and looked at herself in the mirror. She could see a young lady staring back at her. Her hair was tied into a simple ponytail while she wore a red long sleeve dress. The dress has a simple design, but the material alone was something that she would never be able to buy normally.

'Great, should I go to the mall and buy a new dress?'

On the second thought, Feng Mian was against it. She could just say to them that she saved up a bit to buy the dress if they noticed. If they didn't, that would be for the best.

Feng Mian walked out of her room with a small handbag. She looked at Butler Lou and smiled. "How do I look, Butler Lou?"

"You're beautiful, Madam."

"Thank you."

Butler Lou led Feng Mian to the front door and waited until Feng Mian went off before he took out his phone. He texted Zhang Liang, informing him that Feng Mian had left to Hotel H for her reunion.

He looked at the distance, hoping that everything would be alright.
