Chapter 75 - Family Time?

Feng Mian swore she had never told her password to anyone. How did Zhang Liang manage to know what her password was? Now that she thought about it, he did unlock her phone without asking for the password.

Zhang Liang pretended he didn't hear any of Feng Mian's words as he walked to Zhang Yi. "Are you satisfied, Father?"

"No," Zhang Yi responded. "I want her work to be shown and brag to my friends that I have a great artist as my daughter in law!"

"…" you just want to brag?

Hearing that, Zhang Liang resisted the urge to face palm. He had to admit that his father seemed to pick up some unusual hobby now that he didn't need to work anymore. He pointed to the door. "Let's talk in the family room after you have finished admiring the paintings, Father."

Zhang Yi shot a glare to Zhang Liang. He turned his head to look at Feng Mian. "Mian'er, do you mind if I take one of the paintings when you have gotten your first commission?"

Feng Mian blinked her eyes. "Which one, Father?"

"I'll just take the sunset."

"But that's…" just my practice work.

Seeing that Feng Mian looked troubled, Zhang Yi crossed his arm. "Don't worry, I'm not going to sell it. I'll be putting it on my house and let my friends all admire the painting when they come to visit!"

Feng Mian: "…"

If she was Zhang Yi's friend, she had the feeling that she wouldn't be able to stand seeing Zhang Yi brags all day long. After all, who would want to hear other people bragged? Unfortunately, when they were older, people loved to compare their children through bragging with their friends.

Zhang Liang sighed. "Father, can't you see that she's embarrassed?"

"Really?" Zhang Yi arched his eyebrows. "Don't be shy! You're going to be an artist, so you should have a thick skin and proudly say that your work is the best!"

Feng Mian could only nod her head repeatedly. The only reason she was unsure was because the three first paintings were not really her best. She only painted it because she wanted to test her skills again. They ended up pretty good, so she kept it, but still, she felt a bit embarrassed to show it to others.

Zhang Liang pointed to the paintings. "If you want to promote yourself, you should show some examples of your art. Which one do you want to put on social media?"

Feng Mian thought about it for a moment. She smiled. "Just put all of them and say it's painting on a canvas."

"Got it."

With that, Zhang Liang picked his phone, asking Butler Lou to come here and take some pictures.

He looked at the other two. "Let's go to the family rooms. I'll sort out the page later."

"Ok."

"Wait!" Zhang Yi pointed to the last painting that Feng Mian didn't show. "How about that one?"

"It's not finished yet. I have only sketched it," Feng Mian replied. She hadn't even finished the sketch with pencil yet, so it was still only black and white color.

"I want to see it."

"When it's finished, Father."

Zhang Liang no longer waited for his father to utter any other protest as he dragged his father out of the room. Feng Mian giggled as she saw Zhang Yi complain that his son was too harsh to his father. However, the playful smirk was apparent on Zhang Yi's face.

Clearly, he enjoyed creating trouble for his sons.

Butler Lou appeared with a camera in his hand. He looked at Feng Mian. "It's fine to leave it to me, Madam. I'll lock the door again after I have finished."

Feng Mian nodded. "Just these four please."

"I understand."

After that, Feng Mian walked out of the room and followed Zhang Yi's voice. He was still busy berating his son for asking him out of the room when he still wanted to admire his daughter in law's skill.

They entered a room on the second floor that Feng Mian never entered before. It was large with four brown sofas in the middle, creating a circle. There was a low table in the very middle with several items on top of it.

There were some decorations on the room and several bookshelves on either edge of the rooms. It looked like a reading room rather than family room if she had to be honest.

"You're really an unfilial son! I still want to see my daughter in law's painting!" Zhang Yi protested.

Zhang Liang arched his eyebrows. "You're already there for a long time. Why don't you pick other activities to do?"

"I don't have anything else I want to do!"

Feng Mian giggled and sat down near Zhang Liang. He leaned to the back and looked at his father in front of him calmly. "Do you want to work again? I can arrange some of the work for you again, Father."

Zhang Yi's face changed when Zhang Liang began to talk about work. Since Zhang Liang was truly an ambitious and also capable man, he knew very much how much his son had expanded the company. It was no longer the same as when he handed it over to Zhang Liang three years ago.

In this scale, he wouldn't have the capabilities to manage the company anymore.

"No need. You can do your own work. Im happy with my idle life."

"Is that so?" Zhang Liang arched his eyebrows.

Zhang Yi looked at the pair in front of him frustratingly. Zhang Xue and Lu Di La gave him a headache whenever he visited those two. And now, Zhang Liang and Feng Mian gave him a different kind of headache.

Can't he have a normal son?

As the thought crossed his mind, he recalled something else. "Right, when will you give me a grandchild?"

Once she heard that, Feng Mian nearly choked on the air.
