Chapter 79 - Sibling’s Time

"Good morning, Madam. You're early today," Butler Lou greeted with a smile.

Feng Mian nodded. She glanced at the clock with curiosity. It clearly showed that it was still very early in the morning, at 7 AM. Since she lived with Zhang Liang, she always woke up at 8 or more. After all, she didn't need to go to work, so sleeping in would be fine.

Now that she thought about it, at what time did Butler Lou and Chef Lu wake up? Whenever she woke up, food would be ready and Butler Lou always greeted her with a smile in a neat appearance.

"Are you planning to go today?" Butler Lou asked as he brought the food in.

Feng Mian nodded once more. "I'm going to visit my mother. Is Brother Liang already went to the company?"

"No. He's outside, doing his occasional morning jog."

"Morning jog?"

Seeing that Feng Mian was looking at him in confusion, Butler Lou explained that Zhang Liang also did morning jog when he had time. During busy times like this, he could only do it once every few days, which coincide with the time when Feng Mian slept in. it was the reason why she never knew about it before.

If it was not busy time, Zhang Liang would go jogging every day in the morning.

"How long Brother Liang goes jogging each day?"

"It's around one to two hours every time."

Feng Mian blinked her eyes. That was quite a long time if she had to be honest. If she had to jog for two hours straight, she was sure that she would faint somewhere in the middle of the process. After all, physical activities were clearly not her forte.

"When will you depart, Madam?"

"Oh. I'll go at 8."

"I understand. I'll inform Mr. Yu about your departure, Madam."

"Thank you Butler Lou."

Feng Mian finished her breakfast and then went to the hospital with Mr. Yu driving her. Even until the time she departed, she hadn't seen Zhang Liang. He might still jog around his house, so she didn't bother trying to find him. The house's courtyard was simply too big for her to travel.

She would be dead tired before finding Zhang Liang.

It didn't take a long time for Feng Mian to arrive in the hospital and she headed straight to her mother's room. By now, the nurses were already familiar with her because they had seen her coming from time to time.

When Feng Mian was about to enter, she could hear laughter coming from inside the room.

'Eh? There's a guest today?'

Knock! Knock!

"Mom, I'm coming in."

Feng Mian pushed the door open. Her eyes landed on the middle aged man inside the room. He had a tired face, yet a smile was hanging on the corner of his lips. His strikingly similar appearance to her mother made Feng Mian recognize her uncle at once.

"Uncle Lin!" Feng Mian greeted happily.

Uncle Lin, whose real name was Lin Hong, looked towards Feng Mian and smiled back. "You have grown up, Mian'er."

"Hehe, long time no see, Uncle. How are you?"

"We're doing well," Lin Hong responded politely. He eyed his sister and sighed. "Why don't you tell me that you're in the hospital, San'er?"

Lin San crossed her arm. "You won't be able to help even if you know. You should just focus on your work."

"You blockhead little sister."

"You nosy older brother."

Feng Mian listened to their banter with a giggle. The two of them sounded as if they admonished one another, but in truth, they cared for each other. It was just because they understood each other's situation that they didn't wish to bother the other with more things to think.

Just like her mother, Lin Hong is a chef working in a restaurant. He had married and had a few children. Feng Mian was not close with her cousins, but she heard that they were doing well on their own too. Lin Hong was older than her mother and married far earlier, so her cousins were mostly much older than her. After all, she's the youngest in her family too.

Lin San looked at Feng Mian. "You shouldn't have come here if you're busy, Mian'er."

"I'm not busy, Mom. My work is done for the current project. Unless I get another job, I'll be free for the next few days," Feng Mian replied with a grin. Who would reject a free holiday but still get paid?

Besides, she knew that she had worked a lot to design and make the proposal and doc.u.ments.

Lin San nodded. "So, do you have anything you want to tell me?"

"I'm making a social media's account now, Mom. From now on, I'll be able to work on commission if there's any."

Lin Hong frowned. He looked at Lin San. "Your daughter still wants to pursue the path to be an artist.?

Lin San nodded. "You know her. She's also a blockhead and you won't be able to change her mind once she has decided on something. Besides, if she can do it, I'll support her."

For Lin San, it didn't matter whether Feng Mian worked as an artist or in a company. What she hoped was her daughter would be happy and could earn enough for her to live on.

Though, she was a bit worried that her daughter would be in trouble because of trying to earn money for hospital fee.

Hearing that, Lin Hong sighed. "You're always so carefree like that."

"You know me the best, Hong Ge."

"I'll be going back now. If you need anything, you can call me." Lin Hong paused. Knowing Lin San's character, he knew that she wouldn't want to bother him. "If you don't make a call, I'll come visit you here."

Lin San rolled her eyes. "I'll call. I'll call. Now shoo. You have a restaurant that you need to take care."

"The restaurant is closed every Saturday."

"Still shoo."

Both Lin Hong and Lin San chatted a bit more before Lin Hong left. All this time, Feng Mian just watched from the sidelines. Somehow, she was reminded of her brother again.

Ah, she truly hoped to meet with him again.
