Chapter 26 - The Call

Crossing the road, Yu Yan watched as they entered the residential area. It was then she noticed that they were in the rich district. Only influential people could stay here and even if one had money, they might not be able to buy a place in this area.

"Do you know someone from here?" Yu Yan asked curiously.

"Why?"

"Well, I just heard that it's not easy to buy a place here."

Long Ying looked at the area and shrugged. "It's not that hard as long as you know the right person to talk to."

"Hmm, you must have a lot of connections."

"I can bring you to them…" Long Ying looked at Yu Yan's attire. "But before that, I'll need to buy you other clothes first."

Yu Yan: "…" You already bought me a wardrobe of clothes and it was still not enough?

Little did she know that Long Ying simply felt that her clothes that he prepared would expose her body too much. He definitely wouldn't want to let those annoying men leer on his wife.

"We're home. Do you still want something to drink before sleeping?"

"Ah, it's enough. I'll take a bath first then."

"I'll prepare your pajamas."

"Thank you!"

"Silly girl." Long Ying poked her forehead once more. "Why are you being polite with me?"

Yu Yan stuck out her tongue playfully. "Habits."

"Go wash up."

"Yes~."

Watching Yu Yan ran upstairs like a little kid, Long Ying merely smiled lightly. Seeing her happy was always much better than seeing her sad and crying her heart out.

After washing herself, Yu Yan took her phone. It had long finished charging and she switched it on. Thinking about the people who will contact her… she felt that her mood turned sour.

'Oh well, it's not like I can run away forever.'

Turning her phone on, Yu Yan was surprised to see that there were a lot of missed calls from… Kang Mao Lan, her mother. She wrote her mother's name with her name directly and didn't even bother to acknowledge her as her family member.

Yu Yan stared at the name. Just as she was pondering whether she should pick it up or not, her phone rang.

The name on her screen was:

Kang Mao Lan.

'She's so impatient.'

Picking the call up, Yu Yan didn't even have the time to put the phone near her ear when she heard yells coming from the other side of the phone.

"YU YAN! WHERE THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN, YOU B*TCH DAUGHTER! YOUR SISTER IS IN THE HOSPITAL BECAUSE OF YOU AND NOW YOU'RE EVEN PUTTING YOUR PHONE OFF? JUST WAIT UNTIL I FOUND YOU AND DRAG YOU TO THE POLICE STATION! HOW IN THE WORLD I EVEN HAVE SUCH AN UNGRATEFUL DAUGHTER LIKE YOU?"

Yu Yan's eyes were cold as she listened to her mother screaming on top of her lungs so loudly. When it came to who could scream louder, she was sure that Kang Mao Lan would definitely win first place without exception.

Kang Mao Lan huffed in anger. "Where are you now, you ungrateful daughter?"

"Why should I tell you where I am?" Yu Yan replied coldly when she heard her mother paused to take a breath.

"YOU B*TCH! Come back home and give the share of the mine to pay for your sister's hospital expense!"
