2 Years Of Restarting

Yu Yan put the food on the table as she watched An Lin's dejected back. "What's Island A?"

"It's a place where Dragon Clan members can train." Long Ying chose not to elaborate what kind of training they would receive. After all, it was not nicknamed devil island for nothing.

"Oh."

"You haven't dried your hair yet?" Long Ying noticed that Yu Yan's hair was still wet. He took the hair dryer and turned it on while aiming at Yu Yan's head. He tenderly dry it off slowly but surely.

Yu Yan sat on the chair, looking at her own appearance in the mirror. She felt a bit weird for having Long Ying to tend for her hair but she didn't reject it as it really felt nice. However, there was something she needed to talk with Long Ying as quickly as possible.

"Long Ying."

"Yes?"

"Am I too harsh?" Yu Yan asked. This was the first time Yu Yan ever showed Long Ying how she was in front of her family. Many people would surely show filial piety and acted kind to their family members, but Yu Yan was fed up with their fake attention and infuriating care.

Because of that, she didn't know how Long Ying would see her. It made her feeling a bit uneasy.

Long Ying was still holding Yu Yan's hair as he continued to dry it off carefully. "I don't think so."

"Really?"

His lips curled up to form a small smile. "I have already seen so many sides of you, do you really think that I'll think you're harsh just because you're rebuking that woman harshly?"

Even though Long Ying knew that Kang Mao Yao was Yu Yan's aunt, he had no intention to address her that way. Those people didn't even deserve to be her family members. How could he possibly address them that way?

Yu Yan was stunned. Memories of her high school time when she got involved in fight, being punished by teachers, and even when she skipped class, he was mostly present. They were classmates for three years and they often walked home together since it was on the same way.

At least, that was what Long Ying claimed since she never went to his house back then.

"You're right…" Yu Yan muttered.

Long Ying chuckled and put the hair dryer away. He felt that he could laugh whenever he was staying near Yu Yan. The number of time he smile and laugh when he was with Yu Yan certainly surpassed all the time he smiled and laugh at other occasions by several folds.

"I know that your family didn't treat you well. As for how you treat them, it's all your decision and I'll support you whatever you want to choose. No matter how you are, I'll always see you as Yan'er and I'll never leave you."

Yu Yan turned around and looked up, right in time to see Long Ying brilliant smile. He was giving her his full attention and also his promise that he would not leave her alone.

Slowly, she stood up and hugged Long Ying. There were no words said as the two of them stayed still in each other embrace.

Yu Yan always felt that her family matters were too messy and didn't want to drag him with her. He had already gotten into so many fights and she never seen his family members back in the past. It always worries her what he would think of her when he saw how messy her familial relationship.

Thus, his promise meant a lot to her.

Even if he only said it in the heat of the moment, she wanted to believe him and confide in him.
