A Brother's Sacrifice

For 3 days, after the fight incident, me and Aki were continuing to go to the red- light district. Some thugs were informed about the fight between a group of delinquents and a single student girl. Eventually, they were interested and more people started to get involved.

More dangerous opponents emerged and more difficult fights broke out. As a result, Aki was now more confident and more fearless to take on these kinds of enemies. And as a bonus, she seems lively. She was looking forward to some more.

I woke up, did my daily routines and went to school. I didn't see Reika in the morning. Maybe she went to school early for clubs activities.

I went to my class, sat at my desk and listened to some music until class will begin.

Aki came after some time. There were now a few students filled in class. It became a little noisy.

"Good morning Aki."

"Good morning Tenma."

"Today's meal will be a little different because I didn't have enough ingredients but... I'm not sure if it'll be of your taste."

"Don't fuss over the small details. At least, I'll be able to eat some homemade food."

I then saw our errand boy, Kinoshita who just came at the right time.

"Kinoshita, come here for a second."

He was used to it so he came here without hesitation.

"Yes, what do you want?"

"Did you find some new 'trashes'?"

Understanding my words, he replied with a scared voice.

"No,... today I couldn't find one."

Well, that's disappointing. He sure is a useless fellow. Maybe I need another person to deal with these kinds of work. But where can I find one?

"You are dismissed."

Turning towards his seat while looking a little bit relieved, Kinoshita walked quickly.

"Wait."

He was suddenly stopped by a voice. And that voice belonged to Aki.

"What... is it?"

"Will you buy some juice in the break? I actually forgot to bring my water bottle."

"Ah.... yes."

He returned to his seat. He had a hint of anger in his face. I ignored the fact for the moment. I looked around the class to see the atmosphere. As to not get involved in this, all of our classmates averted their eyes from mine when I looked at them and started to chat with their friends.

The sound of the bell ringing was heard throughout the school. It was the signal for break time. Kinoshita hurriedly ran in the direction of the cafeteria. Today we wanted to eat in the class. There were too many people in the cafeteria so once in a while, we would stay in the class or go to the rooftop.

Aki took out 2 lunchbox from her bag. She gave me one of hers. I waited for her patiently when she was opening her own lunchbox. Then I opened mine as well. Before even looking at the content, Aki asked me.

"I actually forgot to ask you these 3 days but, do you hate vegetables? I've been only cooking meat and snacks only for the past 3 days."

"I don't actually hate them. I like them. So you cooked some vegetables today huh."

Finally, I looked at the content. It was simple but also looked very delicious. I ate it and it really was delicious. The combination of vegetables and meat is good.

"It's delicious Aki."

"I'm happy that you liked it."

We were having a conversation and suddenly we got interrupted by someone.

"Umm....."

Turning to that frightened voice, I saw a female student looking scared of me. Aki also looked at her and started talking.

"What do you want from us?"

Scared of Aki also, she was kind of retreating by stepping back. But she stopped and tried to talk fluently.

"I-it concerns about Kaburagi."

"About me? What is it."

"Umm.. you haven't turned in your homework."

Whoops. I forgot about that. I was too concentrated on the matter about Aki.

"Wait a second. Who are you to remind me about that kind of thing?"

"Huh?...umm...I'm the class representative. Miyake Kyoko."

So she is the class representative. I forgot about it on the first day. Couldn't help it.

"Umm... Fujimoto."

Hearing the familiar voice of our errand boy, our conversation was interrupted again.

"Thanks."

Aki thanked Kinoshita while grabbing the bottle of juice.

Miyake had a really terrifying face there. She seemed really scared as she had cold sweats running down her nape. She really is in fear.

"Kaburagi. You should stop all this at once!"

Turning towards that voice filled with a bit of courage and anger, I was a bit surprised. Just a few seconds ago, she was cowering in fear before me. Now she is in this reformed state.

"Stop what?"

"You two are bullying Kinoshita and it is a cowardly act which is unacceptable in this school."

"We are not bullying him, isn't that right Kinoshita?"

Us three looked at him. He was shocked at how the matter would be revolved around him. Now the situation will change depending on the answer he will give. He has a big burden resting on his shoulder.

"I haven't.... really been... bullied"

Looking afraid of us, he snuck out these words to Miyake. She was now enraged as she misunderstood it.

"You were forced to say this to me, right? Kaburagi and Fujimoto, you two are disgraceful."

"We didn't force him, dumbass."

"As the female class representative, I will make sure that you two will get punished."

She raised her voice high so that everyone in the class would hear that. We are now the centre of attention.

"Hey didn't you hear-"

Aki wanted to tell her something but I stopped her by doing so.

"Class rep isn't your voice a bit too loud."

"That's for yo-"

"And could you quit your blabbering. It's annoying."

I stood up from my seat and looked at her with a condescending attitude. She was a bit smaller than me so I looked down at her. This terrifying sight of me cracked her confidence a bit.

"So you think that you are some kind of a savior that would bring justice to every single damn matter."

"What ar-"

"Shut the hell up! I'm talking right now and nobody interrupts me."

"...."

She was starting to shiver. Now how do I teach her a lesson? Should I go into brutal mode or gentle mode? Since I'm a good guy, I'll deal with her gently.
