A Chromatic World

1969 - Earth, Summer, The Same Day.

"Are we here?"

"Yes according to the map it's located just beyond that mist."

"Well, at least it's over, I've been so tired just after arriving from America to Europe and now I'm in the outskirts of France, *sigh* what a life."

"G-guys! look! The mist is clearing!"

"Another successor finally came out. Okay people, you know your mission, stay focused. We'll be staying here until the mist dispersed which approximately 2 hours from now."

A group of people that consisted of three males and two females can be seen just outside the legendary misty forest. They wear the same uniform which indicates coming from the same company or organization.

"U-um, s-sir, I'm new to this job, can you tell me what special of this village?" One of the females asked.

"You're not briefed about it?" One of the males asked.

"I-I just got transferred yesterday, and dispatched right away, s-sir." the female that asked earlier answered in a meek voice.

"Ugh, fine. I'll explain it once, and you better listen, don't make us embarrassed once we arrived there. Let's start with a little history lesson then." The other male that was in charge of the group said.

"Village of Remy, the seed of earth. The village that surrounded by a lake and mountains. Cut-off from the rest of the world, by a magical formation, that no one knew how to breach all of this time. The one that tries to enter the village without permission will either be lost by the fog illusion and never get out, or being eaten alive by the surrounding monsters." The man explained with a serious tone.

"But why cut it off from the rest of society?" One of the males asked curiously.

The man in charge glared, and answered, "Because they held a secret or should I say a big mission, bearing the hope of earth. You know our land once was not filled with mana, and the continents as we know now were not divided and were one big supercontinent.— That continent is called Pangea. Filled with dinosaurs which are extinct right now.— The dinosaur ruled the earth with their great strength even without mana. One day, a big meteor came down. Extinguishing all the dinosaurs from earth, and bringing a strange element to the land, the strange elements broke the big continent into several pieces and making the divided continents we know today. Those strange elements are Aether which can be processed into mana or even aura."

The man paused and take a piece of cigarettes from his shirt pocket. The man lit it up, exhaled the smoke and continued, "As Aether filled the land, Humans were born, becoming the first people to wield magic as we know today and making the first civilization. First, they tried to manipulate Aether and able to use it to create fire. The humans raced to make more and more discoveries using Aether, until."

"Until what?" The female which asked the first question was so engrossed to the story chimed.

"Until the first visitor came. Humans that thought they were alone on this earth were curious by this first visitor. The visitor came from a tree that believed to shoulders the world by the humans in the continent of Eurasia. The humans were curious and tried making contacts with the visitor. Thankfully the visitor was a civilization not too advanced from the humans and was just as curious as the humans were. And so the elves came to earth with their heightened affinity to Aether. Years after years passed the two race blended and mixed to make another progress on our civilization."

"Time passed and the humans elves civilization were progressing with their cooperation. Leading up to the chain of events that discovered the second race of Earth. It was started by an elf that traveled the world. That elf discovered a crevice in the earth that leads into an underground world. Shocked by the discovery, the humans-elves civilization sends out a group of handpicked people from both camps for an expedition. An expedition with the mission to explore the new underground world.— The expedition goes on smoothly without a major setback, but their progress of finding a new intelligence being was nowhere going forward. The expedition goes on and on for years and years until they found a small savannah at the edge of the underground world largest continents."

"The beastman, humanoid beast that lived in tribes, superior in their agility and eyesight compared to the humans and elves, and the only being of intelligence that can be found on the new world. At first, the expedition team were being cautious with their actions and decided just to observe those tribe of beastman. Thinking they have enough information, the expedition made their first contact with the beastman. Trading specialties that lead to mutual understanding between both worlds, leading progress and advancement to earth."

"The earth civilization was going on a full rise thanks to the three race, they strive to make improvements be it for magic, technology, and science. A millennia passed since the first civilization was established. There were conflicts, wars, and the rise and fall of a kingdom. But, they were not forgetting what their initial goals are. Which are to improve and make a progress on earth."

"One day a mass Aether influx was found on the center of Africa continent. Humans-elves-beastman scientist and magicians were sent to investigate the strange occurrences. A massive portal was opened and found. From there, monsters started to swarm the earth, and from the same portal came another visitor. The devil race, not any different than humans except for their portruding horn in their head, boosted with their superior strength and stamina. The devil race that came from the portal struggled every day for their chance of survival against the horde of monsters."

The man cigarettes were almost finished and he smokes it one last time before throwing it on the ground, and continued his story again,

"The devil race seeks refuge on earth, and with the effort from the four race, the monsters outbreak were under control, and the portal was closed.— The first civilization, once again making a leap of improvements and progress with the addition of devil race. Another millennia passed, the Aether once again shows a strange fluctuation. from the depth of Arctic, North and South Atlantic, North and South Pacific, Indian, and Antartic Oceans was a strange obelisk-like object surfaced on its own. The obelisk was black in color and was covered with strange lining. From the lining can be seen massive fluctuations of Aether, and as a result, producing more Aether into the air."

"The black obelisk resonated with one another, a line of Aether formation formed on the sky, be it night or day, the blue Aether line can be seen with the n.a.k.e.d eye. And with that marks the second calamity on earth. The great flood.— The great flood swept all of the continents on Earth. The first civilization was destroyed in just a matter of days and leaving only a handful of people from each race. They were protected in a container filled with slumbering magic, only to awaken when the continents raised up again. That container that grants us survival were called Noah Ark's."

"Skip ahead to our modern civilization now, a millennia before the present day. Rise and falls of kingdoms, betrayals and discoveries were made at the same time. The black obelisk that emerged from the seven seas started to make another fluctuation. Believed to be the will of the earth, the earth people started to investigate it further. From there on classes were born from the investigation. A manual for the people on taking another step of evolution. A year after, the first class were born, which are Warrior, Priest, and Mages. The Trinity."

"Wow! I didn't know that we have a rich history." The other male that claimed came from America awed.

"I-i know right." The newbie female can't hide her shocked voice.

The man took a deep breath and said in a serious face, "From now on, I will talk about the more confidential stuff, the erased history of Earth! Don't ever leak this to the public or you will bear the consequences yourself."

The group nodded agreeing to the man's warning. The man saw the nod and continued after taking a breath,

"Aside from discovering the classes, there was another message, which connects to the mission for the Village of Remy. Earth inclusion into the multiverse. It's common knowledge that our inclusion in the multiverse will bring us to our glory time or even our demise, but it was highly probable that the conclusions would lead us to our demise. And so the Village of Remy was founded. Erected by the first class master of our history along with the shadow council that controls the fate of Earth. The village has a simple mission. Nurture the successor containing the knowledge of masters, guide them to become the Messiah. Hide the village from the public eyes. And only masters with the approval of the shadow council can come and become a nurturer."

"T-that's not a simple at all. You said those kids bear the responsibility of the entire Earth on their shoulders? Isn't that just cold-blooded?" The other female aside from the female that asked the previous question said in a shocked manner.

The man looked at the female and said, "Yes, those kids bears our fate and the Earth fate on their shoulders. There were many masters that protested, leaving the fate of Earth to a bunch of kids that didn't know the world yet, but, no matter how cruel that is, it's our only hope. And with that, our organization were born, Hermes Wing, the messenger gods of old, and our only job is to assist those kids to become our messiah."

The overall mood of the group was all-time low after that last conversation. The man in charge looked at their surroundings and realized that the fog was almost cleared up. He checked his watch one last time and said, "Okay, now chin up, we must be strong to set an example for the successor. in less than 5 minutes the fog will be cleared and opening the path to the village, clean up your uniform and focus on our mission."

"YES, SIR!" The four said at the same time.
