A Father's Duty

When I went down, I heard a low growl outside and was surprised as I went outside to see the Wolf King.

"Well... that was fast. I thought that it would take you a day to visit me." I said and the Wolf King just replied with a growl as if saying 'Get it over already.'

I took out the Guardian Ticket and placed it on the Wolf King's c.h.e.s.t and a golden light enveloped the Wolf King as I felt a mental connection with the Wolf King.

'So is he the son of Guinness now?' I asked the system. Although the only thing the Wolf King received is a bloodline, God knows how b*llshit Guinness' strength is and it had its bloodline.

[In a way, yes. The transformation would last for 5 minutes. The system will also deploy an illusion and silencing barrier because once the bloodline completely fused with the Wolf King, it might unconsciously howl as a message that another True King is Born.]

'I see thanks about that.' I thought as I looked at the Wolf King being wrapped in Golden Threads of magical energy.

I went inside and prepared a huge feast for the Birth of a new King and for being a guardian of the tavern. The system has already told me that its fine if he goes back to his pack as he would be notified if there is trouble happening on the tavern.

When the process was done, I went outside to take a look and saw the white fur has turned into Dark-blue, as opposed to the color of a typical Battle Wolf. Its eyes are surrounded by large, round shadows, and are beady and completely blank, not showing irises and pupils. Also, unlike any other Battle Wolf, it has uniquely shaped forelimbs, as instead of canine paws, he has human-like hands with black claws and opposable thumbs.

Feeling the changes in its body, the Wolf King howled as if to tell the world that the new King has arrived. Unfortunately for him, it is contained by the silencing barrier.

It then looked at me for a while before I heard a voice in my mind.

'T..han...k y....ou.' He said in my mind as I smiled seeing the aura he emits.

"You're welcome. I guess a name is in need for you. Come back here at night. I will give your pack some food to eat for tonight and maybe give you a name at that time." I said as the Wolf King nodded and ran really fast that it left a paw print as I remembered the scene where Guinness' paw print still emits a terrifying aura even when the print was embedded thousands of years ago.

I renovated the house to make a bas.e.m.e.nt freezer and a storehouse for all the veggies and the meat as I paid the points.

I then started warming up and started cutting ingredients in a flash as I used the Meteor Knife technique. I then bought a spit-roast from the system and set it up outside. I went back and started boiling a huge pot of water and poured it at the whole pig and scr.a.p.ed the hairs on its skin. The entrails from the system bought pigs are already removed, so All I had to do was rub it in salt and pepper inside out as I stuffed different ingredients inside like, onion, garlic, star anise, lemongrass and bay leaves.

After stuffing its insides, I sewed it together before spit-roasting it over to the coal and let it cook for 30 mins or more.

I then spit-roasted chickens as I spread different sauces on every chicken.

I then started grilling fishes for Pitou.

Followed by baking a batch of pretzels. The smell wafted into the air as the smell reached into the chipmunks nose and woke up from their slumber. Erza and Kagura felt their arms hurt a little bit but they forgot the pain as they followed the smell down and saw a feast as they drooled in anticipation. They don't know what the occasion is but if there is food, then they don't mind it.

As I saw the chipmunks going down, I served them the pretzels while we wait for their mother and the wolf pack to come here.

Soon Irene came home and immediately spent time with the children after changing her clothes to a simple dress. She hugged them but frowned when she saw Erza and Kagura flinch under her hug. She inspected their bodies and saw that they have sore arms and glared at me and decided to have a long talk with me later.

She was confused as to why there's so much food on the table and we aren't eating yet. Her questions were answered when she heard howls outside and was about to attack when her hands was held by me. With a shake of my head, she stand down. I motioned for them to follow me, the chipmunks were surprised and curious to see many wolves while Irene was staring in surprise at the Wolf King.

Its fur changed into dark blue and when she stared at its eyes, only the red pupils could be seen, as if the Wolf King is blending in the shadows of the night. What even surprised her is that, the Wolf King bowed its head to me as I patted its muzzle.

She looks at me, full of questions, as to how I could make the Wolf King bow its head. I told them to wait outside and I took out a box of meat as the Wolf King gave them their share of food according to their hierarchy. When their feast ended, I motioned the Wolf King to come to me.

"As the Leader of the Pack, a name is needed, your name would be your one and only name and would not change even if you die. I grant you the name... Fenrir, the God slayer." I said as the Wolf King felt his blood boil as the pack howled to congratulate the pack leader. They started running back to their cave while we went back inside.

'Well must be when they saw me give a name to Fenrir and the wolves howled.' I thought. When we came inside Kagura started pestering me if she could see them every now and then, which I nodded as she jumped in joy and we started eating after giving thanks to the nature for the blessings we received and for good food.

When we finished eating, the chipmunks already went up and Irene was staring at me the whole time while we are cleaning the plates.

I started cleaning up the mess in the table.

After cleaning the table, I put the washed plates into a drying rack

I looked at Irene staring at me as I laughed and she pouted.

"You really are cute when you pout." I said which made her pout even more with a blush on her face.

"Curious as to why Fenrir became under me and became strong?" Though still pouting, she nodded her head.

"Simple, I told him I could save his pack, if he serves me." I said but it didn't answer one of the main question of Irene.

When she sensed Fenrir outside for the first time, she felt that the Wolf King is even stronger than the 4 slumbering beasts under the ground. But she didn't know how the wolf king could have such kind of strength.

"As for how he got strong, I used knocking to unlock his bloodline, though it has a really low chance of awakening. Turns out it succeeded." I said as Irene was curious as to what is knocking so I simply showed her as I touched several points in her right arm and her right arm turned numb as she can't move it anymore.

She deemed it dangerous for an individual to hold such kind of skill, she was glad that it was her husband that have learned such kind of skill. It was the perfect skill for a manslayer in the battlefield or an assassin.

"Then why did you train them in swordsmanship? Aren't they too young to wield a sword?" She asked me with slight anger in her voice.

"I only thought them the basics since the two asked me to teach them the way of the sword. Besides, the earlier they start, the firmer their foundation will be. Its not like I'll force them to go beyond their level." I said

She was deep in thoughts but she felt my hands on her cheeks as I pinched them as she tried to fight back but can't remove the clamped fingers on her cheeks so she just gave up.

She looked at me as if I'm her mortal enemy number one.

'Oops, Looks like I'll be sleeping alone in the room tonight.' I thought as Irene ran up towards the room of the chipmunks.
