A Father's Duty

When we arrived home, I showed Juliet and Heine the guest room as I went down and whipped up some quick food for dinner.

With the help of Irene and unused ingredients from last night, we quickly made some food and called the tired chipmunks, Juliet, and Heine to eat.

Though the chipmunks were tired, when they took a bite, they started demolishing the food in their plate. Meanwhile, Juliet and Heine seemed reluctant to eat rice but when they saw Irene eating and not minding it, mixed in with the aroma of the food, they finally can't help and started digging in.

When they first saw the boxed lunches back there, they were already drooling and finally tasting it, they experienced a whole new world.

They started eating with gusto as they cut up a part of the chicken and some vegetables and digged in like they haven't eaten for years.

As usual the food in the table was completely obliterated. The kids have already went up with Irene. Juliet and Heine have already went up to their room and I am left to clean up the kitchen.

After cleaning up, I went to our room and saw that Irene was not there, so I opened up the next door which is the kids' room and saw Irene stroking her daughter's hair while humming a unique tone.

When she saw me by the door, she stood up, gave them a kiss on their forehead and turned the candle lights off before following me back to our room.

We both lied down as I embraced Irene and Irene did the same.

"You're a bad man, you know that?" Irene said

"Which part of me is bad? I'm a good hearted person, you know?" I said and Irene giggled.

"The Army of Veronica is coming to subdue the wolf king and you unlocked its bloodline. That's mean of you." She said.

"Oh. Well, if they don't cause trouble then they could leave this place alive. If they don't well, don't even think of returning back to their country." I said and continued

"Besides, aren't you the bad one here? You gave me a map that can't be deciphered and sent me to a goose chase?" I said as Irene giggled.

"That's your fault to begin with. Meanie." she retorted.

"Then meanie it is." I said and started poking her sides as she held her urge to laugh and started struggling from my embrace.

"No- Stop! The kids- next room! You'll... wake them up! No! stop! ufufu~" Irene has been doing a good job in holding her laugh when I stopped it.

She turned and glared at me but I sent a deep kiss towards her as she melted in my kiss.

"That's cheating!" Said Irene with a pout which I laughed it off.

"You know, I've been thinking... why don't we give Erza a legitimate little sister?" I said as Irene blushed, really hard. Even I have my pent up frustrations and would have to release some way or another. Now that I have my wife back, I could finally release some of my pent up frustrations.

Irene is stuck in a hard decision whether or not do it. She too has been pent up for so long. She accepted it and enchanted the room with a silencing rune.

The couple did the things that only a husband and wife should do while basking in the shadows of the night.

I woke up a little tired and saw Irene hugging my body while stroking the scar in my right arm.

"You got this from the Fenrir, no?" She asked.

"Yeah. I did. When did you wake up? Did you sleep at all?" I asked.

"Of course I have slept. I just woke up a little earlier than you. It was a wild night I must say. I'm kind of curious, when did you become so good in it?" She asked with a deadly glint in her eyes.

"What are you saying? Its just intuition and instincts." I said. I can't just tell her that p*rn sites are everywhere back in my old world right?

Brushing it off her mind, she asked me a question.

"Today's the day that the Army of Veronica will come, though it will only number under a thousand, can you handle yourself? I could take the day off to help?" She asked with some worry in her heart. She was tasked to help a village that has been brainwashed by Dark Mages that's why she was worries for the safety of her daughters and her husband.

'Heck, Pitou can single-handedly destroy an army of thousands. Then there's Fenrir with a broken bloodline from Guinness, I doubt the Army of Veronica will pose a challenge.' I thought

"Its fine. I can handle it." I said as I gave her a light kiss on the forehead before standing up and wore my clothes before going down to prepare food for breakfast.

Meanwhile in the borders of the Wasteland of Death.

Hundreds of soldiers are marching towards the WoD. Although they are an army, they are disorganized, and distracted. Its like they are here for a picnic. They believed that their number is too much for taking down the Wolf King and was pretty lax and confident that they would win.

Though, the army commander that is leading them is cautious and told them to be organized, and told them to raise their guards because they might be ambushed, the soldiers didn't heed his warnings and even became more lax and disorganized.

The commander looked at his troops and sighed deeply. He told the king that it is very reckless to just form a small army and subdue the Wolf King and expected that the King will agree with him. Contrary to his expectations, the King just brushed it off and told him that they need a significant achievement so that their fame will increase because they are a starting country and merchants will start coming in waves to their land.

The reason why he is very cautious today is because he felt that something really bad will happen to his army and usually he is never wrong whenever he felt like this that's why he kept on reminding the soldiers to be on their guard and start being organized.

They were slowly marching when the scouts returned as they stopped marching and gave their reports to him

"Reporting for duty! There's a house not far away from here and from the looks of it, its a tavern."
