A Father's Duty

The next morning, Noctis woke up and cleaned up. He will have to go out and search for information on any sightings of a GT robo to complete his task.

He then remembered that the system update should be done last night.

[That's right host. The system upgrade is complete. As a reward... check your inventory.] The system said as Noctis looked at his storage space... in there lies a sword. When he saw it, he was surprised. What he saw was an oversized, black khyber knife almost as tall as himself or even taller, with a cloth-wrapped tang instead of a proper hilt and tsuba.

'Zangetsu, huh.' Noctis thought.

As a greatsword master, it is fitting for him although a little bit smaller for his taste. Also in its bankai form, it shrinks down to a daito or a long sword and it perfectly fits his need of swords. Compared to the swords of Lucis Kings, he like this one better. He finally have a weapon that was of his own and not borrowed from the Lucis Kings.

[Host don't need to worry about being a shinigami to use it, your zangetsu is different and modified by me personally. Just get used to it for a while. Although your Zangetsu is different from the original there are qualities I didn't remove... for example... the hollow living inside it.] The system said and it confused Noctis.

'Why? Isn't he just a troublesome fellow?' Noctis asked.

[Yes, but Hollow Ichigo disliked his master because of his overly ridiculous softness. Its fine being soft every once in a while with a reason but if you do it every single time? Hollow Ichigo had enough, that's why he wants to possess Ichigo to become the dominant personality. If you make the Hollow inside Zangetsu cooperate with you, you could use the hollow transformation that could offer you immense power-ups.]

'I see then what about the final Getsuga Tenshou?' Noctis asked. If the system replied about not being able to use ethernano anymore, he wouldn't use it for the love of God.

[Of course I know what you're thinking host. Yes if the hollow offers you his complete loyalty, you could use that form. Although after using it will weaken you by 50% for a few days.] The system said.

'Although losing 50% is big, the remaining 50% could be said to be enough to keep my life if any unknown variable comes messing with me.' Noctis thought and another question popped in his mind.

'Why not make the hollow inside brainwashed to offer his complete loyalty, like the Dragons residing in the mask?' Noctis asked.

[Because the synchronization rate will be poor and will have underperformance compared to when you gained the hollow's complete trust. If the hollow is brainwashed it would only be able to unleash 25% of its full strength. As for the rest, you know it.] The system said as I understood.

'Trust, huh. Other than those I considered family, I don't trust anyone outside that... this will be difficult.' Noctis thought as he wore some casual clothes.

[Also there are new items in the shop, but the most important thing that could be said to be the turning point in your life... From here on out, the system's 4th evolution will take in your d.e.s.i.r.e as the base and will stick to it for future upgrades. If you want to do evil deeds, the system will evolve into something sinister and every time you upgrade the system, the more sinister it will be and vice versa, if your d.e.s.i.r.e is to do good deeds, then the system will use that as the base and will stick to it in the future system upgrades.] The system said which made Noctis notice the grave situation he'll be in.

If his inner d.e.s.i.r.e, d.e.s.i.r.es destruction then the system will evolve into something that would want to cause mayhem everywhere. If he d.e.s.i.r.e to do good things then the system evolve into something holy or saint or something like that.

What does he truly d.e.s.i.r.e? Power? Money? F*ck that. That's when Noctis smiled warmly. What he truly d.e.s.i.r.e is to make his family happy. To make sure that his kids will not grow as entitled persons just because he is powerful, he wanted them to grow as a good person as he guides them whenever they lost their way.

Noctis took his mind off of it since he finally knew what his heart truly d.e.s.i.r.es. It is like the chains holding him down was broken and he felt really good being released from that. After dressing up, he went out of his room and there were 5 person in black suits waiting for him.

"Mr. Noctis, we would like to have a word with you." The man in the lead said.

'They don't look like someone from IGO. If they are, they will notify Toriko, Komatsu, or even Johannes, since I was in contact with them. It seems like Gourmet Corp. is on the move, huh. Let's see how this plays out.' Noctis thought as he followed the men in suits.

The men lead them in an empty room and one of the men locked the door.

"What's the meaning of this?" Asked Noctis playing dumb.

"Mr. Noctis, we would like to recruit you to join our organization. You could only say yes or..." The man said but was cut off by Noctis himself.

"Or you'll take me out? How presumptuous of the gourmet corp to demand my life if I declined. If you want to recruit me... SHOW YOUR GODDAMNED SINCERITY FIRST!" Noctis shouted as his gourmet demon manifested itself for the first time in front of the enemies. What appeared was Yujiro's upper body in his trademark bear stance. The goons became scared and fell to their knees. They can't move nor feel a thing it was like something is pressing on their necks, suffocating them.

Noctis then released the pressure and left the place but not before picking up a knife from one of the goons and threw it to the air as it pierced an invisible mechanical bird acting as surveillance camera.

After leaving, no one came to block his way as he went out. This time, another set of black men in suits appeared in front of him with Johannes in the lead.

"Mr. Noctis, I-IGO's president would like to have a word with you." Johannes nervously said.

'First, Gourmet corp and now IGO? Just great...' Noctis sighed and knew that this can't be avoided.

They took the car and reached a private airport. They then took a plane ride into the headquarters of IGO that has the design of a big tray.

When they arrived, they were checked by the security guards of the place even Johannes included.

"Are we criminals or what? Johannes you said the president wants to talk with me? Why are we being treated like criminals?" Noctis said as Johannes has a wry smile on his face.

"I apologize for that Mr. Noctis and that's exactly because you're going to have a word with the president that they need to examine you thoroughly." Johannes explained.

"Wasn't it the president who wanted to talk to me? Why does it sound like I'm the one wanting to talk with him?" Noctis replied as his face turned serious.

"I deeply apologize, Mr. Noctis but these are all the respective measures required before meeting the president." Johannes said calmly as he saw Noctis face changing into a serious one. In his mind, one wrong move and they would kiss goodbye in partnering up with such a strong person.

"I see. Then let's go. Don't want to keep the IGO president waiting." Noctis said as he stride forward and followed Johannes.

Damn, Baki Season 2 is really good. Though kinda sad that netflix released the whole season unlike a typical anime because the tension of waiting for a week before the next episode is gone.

Though what netflix did has its advantages as well which is having no cliffhanger and it received praises from many and you could finish the entire season in one seating, after that you feel empty once more because its finished.
