Arthur's POV

After sailing and setting a course to the nearest island we found at the map that Roku brings with him. Everyone starts doing their own thing.

The people chosen to be lookouts for the night decided to go to their rooms to get some rest before a long night.

I took out my cards and start gambling with those who were willing. Well, when say gambling it was mostly me teaching them a couple of card games and we use wooden sticks since they have no need for money on their island, they don't have any and although I have some gold that I kept in my storage I don't have any cash on me too, so our little " gambling" wasn't really exciting but I was able to improve my luck stat.

Since there is nothing better to do on open seas we kept playing with cards for around 2 hours. I could go further but the werewolves I played Nizan, Adil, and two of their buddies start to get irritated because they keep losing against me, so I left the cards to them and I check the course of the ship before leaving the deck for my room. If everything goes well, we will reach a town called Grivine in 4 days.

As for my room, obviously, as the owner of the ship, I prepared the captain's cabin for myself. Right now I'm not confident enough to properly enchant the whole room but I carved alarm runes on the entrance and some strengthening runes on the walls to increase their durabilities.

While traveling on the ship I decided to not materialize Ashena and Helen since I don't want my new friends to learn about their existence so when the ship sailed I summoned 20 clones and opened up two dungeons for them to hunt and train.

Girls entered the zombie dungeon for leveling up alongside 5 of my clones and the rest of my clones gone for training in the empty dungeon. Since my clones didn't get destroyed for nearly 3 hours I thought everything was fine but turns out I was not paranoid about possible changes in dungeons opened up on open seas.

It was still a zombie dungeon but the terrain inside changed into a giant lake surrounded by something like concrete walls.

All of the monsters inside changed into merfolk ( mermaids, merman's, Fishman ), and from the looks of it no matter what I do, these monsters won't come out of the water.

I already have <Waterbreathing> spell and I can easily function and fight inside the water too but most of my powers come from my <Fire Magic> skill, because of that skill I was able to reach level 93 in just a month using the combination of fire magic and forest around me.

When I'm inside the water I can still use fire magic to some degree, but honestly, it doesn't worth the mana I spend on those spells.

In this environment, it's better to use water, ice, and lightning magic but after creating these skills I barely touch them. Even the highest leveled magic type of the three, the lightning magic is currently at common tier level 5, but I guess manipulating water around me instead of spending mana to create other elements from zero won't be effective anyway, so yeah... water magic it is, maybe when I had time to spare later on I could try to learn Fishman Karate and Jujitsu too.

---------------------------

Hunting zombie merfolk was more difficult than I first thought. They weren't physically strong as the regular zombies I faced at the same levels but they were way faster than land zombies and they had the habit of moving in one large group similar to how goblins usually do.

Them being move as a large group save me some time like I don't have to try to gather them in a single spot or going after them one by one but being in a large group also means I will almost immediately be surrounded by them and I will constantly get hit by their attacks.

I didn't realize this before but fighting against multiple opponents is really hard. When I was on the land I can just dodge a couple of attacks and find a spot to enter stealth mod when I'm cornered but there is nothing to hide behind in these waters and the only thing around me is these stupid fish zombies.

I'm not afraid of their power levels or the numbers, I know with my body, my bones and flesh becoming strong as solid iron as the aftereffect of maxing out my <Ironflesh> spell bring my physical defense above most of the people in this world but being constantly under attack by these creatures breaks my fighting rhythm.

I can't keep my focus on dozens of creatures attacking at me at the same time and I have to recast <Night Vision> constantly so I can at least see in this dark and cold hellhole.

I'm not taking any damage from the merfolk attacks but getting bitten by their fangs or get hit by their claws without a stop is not something I wish to live through once again.

After cleaning up the most annoying cannon fodders, I saw the merman version of the legion zombie, I wasn't expecting something new from this monster and I was quite annoyed by its underlings from before so I just pump up some extra mana and manipulate the water around the boss and crushed its body to pieces.

The loot was the same as the regular legion zombie, some store coins, a skill book that I have multiple copies of, and 8 mana potions.

Closing up the dungeon, I changed my clothes with dry ones and lay down on my bed. Normally I would open up the store and buy some large-scale spells that useful in the water but this time I decided to check my spells first.

From my hunts, I was able to gather hundreds of different skills that I honestly forgot that I activated most of them. Spells like <Grease>, <Blur> and <Deafness>.

Searching through the skills list, I saw one spell that I honestly felt so stupid the forget about. The <Mana Shield>... It's actually perfect for my situation. I can use my spells without any obstructions. Those cannon fodders cant distract me, no matter how hard they try to reach me and I can just spam <Water Bullet>'s to deal with those f.u.c.kers.
