Litty takes on Vandalism Case

“We got attacked, too! The request, I’ll submit it as well!”

A man spat out and slammed down the request application and left. The receptionist picked it up and processed it without hesitation, but with a somewhat annoyed look on her face.

It was not unusual for someone to bring in a problem where their property had been vandalized by someone else. The problem was the number of them.

“This…again.”

“This time the garden was vandalized? Yesterday a flowerpot and a window were broken.”

“Rank 6… it may not be good enough…”

“Hello!”

Just then, Litty, who had become a well-known adventurer, appeared on the scene. She and her companion, Roma, had become the talk of the town recently.

While Litty was often referred to as naïve, Roma was considered a brown beauty. So far, none of the adventurer parties had succeeded in recruiting them.

“Oh, Rank 3 sisters!”

“Are they sisters?”

“They don’t look alike, but, maybe.”

“Unlike Yggdrasia, those two are a nice refreshing breeze.”

As distrust of Yggdrasia grew, the girls’ popularity increased in relative terms. The guild officials then greeted the girls with relief.

“Hello, you two. How can I help you today?” (Receptionist)

“Hi. Today…” (Litty)

“Good morning, everyone. How are you doing today?” (Baider)

The brisk morning was suddenly shattered. Baider, his eyes gleaming, appeared with his subordinates in tow.

No one welcomed them. Instead of returning their greetings, they pretended not to see them. Regardless, Baider went to the bulletin board where the requests were posted.

“Well, we’ll take care of this destruction of property case, so I hope you’ll cancel it.” (Baider)

“What? However, as long as it was brought to us as a request…” (Receptionist)

“It’s our role to protect the security of the capital, isn’t it? Well, we’ll respond to those who brought it in with results, so you don’t have to worry about it.” (Baider)

“Huh…” (Receptionist)

“Then, please take care of it.” (Baider)

Baider, who had unilaterally ended the conversation, disappeared from the guild. The staff did not seem to be pleased with them, and couldn’t help but hold her head in disappointment after the forced claim.

Litty looked over the property damage report and asked, “There are a lot of these cases nowadays, right?”

“Yes, there are. Incidents like this happened before too, but it wasn’t this frequent before. I wish those people would solve them…” (Receptionist)

Those cases would never get solved if Baider and his colleagues did not get their shit together. Which was the most likely outcome in everyone’s opinion.

Litty also knew that the damage would only increase if they did nothing.

“We’ll do it.” (Litty)

“…You’ll do it?” (Receptionist)

“You are not going to cancel the request, right?” (Litty)

“Normally, I wouldn’t have, but they’re working with Yggdrasia now…” (Receptionist)

“As long as I solve the problem, there will be no trouble.” (Litty)

The reward was low, since it wasn’t a commission to eliminate someone, and the danger was unknown at the moment. Still, it didn’t matter to Litty.

She was not someone who pretended to be on the side of justice. For her, being able to go on adventures and helping people along the way was more than enough.

“I understand. I will process it.” (Receptionist)

“Thank you.” (Litty)

“It’s their fault in the first place. They don’t do their jobs properly and have the worst reputation, so people opted to post requests here instead of informing them. That’s also why they’ve been replaced by the Gold Gryphon Corps in recent years.” (Receptionist)

Litty agreed with the staff’s complaints, but she didn’t voice her opinion as it wasn’t necessary.

These requests did not offer much of a reward, but Litty was looking forward to more than that. She was always filled with anticipation, wondering what kind of experience she would have this time.
