"Here!"

I heard the voice behind me and looked back; there were already a few potions on the way.

Kuro was fired up and had an abundant spirit as she threw them to me. I grabbed them as fast as I could and chucked some to Ella. She had been fighting the black wolf and didn't seem to have won.

From what I had glimpsed she had only just been able to fight it to a draw. This wasn't good. I knew how strong Ella was, and this thing was even stronger.

I quickly sent out analyze, as we had some spare time. I didn't know why these beasts weren't attacking us right now, but I had to use every second I could get.

My face turned grim as I looked at this new knowledge.

What the hell is this thing, a boss!

Holy hell, he had to be in the pack rage and survival of the fittest stage by this point. That would mean its attributes would be insane. It was almost a miracle that Ella was able to hold out against it for so long. Actually thinking about it, there should be no way with such boosts that Ella could have survived.

I quickly sent a glance at her status and realized that she had leveled, after having killed so many wolves; she had actually reached level 15. That means she would have gained 6 stats in all her physical attributes. That was the only way she could have survived for so long.

That also meant that I was at level 15. My eyes shifted as I thought about quickly putting in the free points we had but, looking at the black wolf and its red eyes, something told me I wouldn't have enough time. I couldn't split my attention long enough to place them in.

Shit I could really have used that!

I chugged down another potion as I thought about the matter, but before I could continue to think of anything they sprang into action. Without howling this time, the black wolf somehow signaled for the other ones behind it to attack. They sprinted out fast, as I crushed the vial in my hand and threw it away. Ella also was finished with her potion and got ready.

I stared straight at the alpha wolf and it stared straight back at me, it didn't spare a glance towards Ella and I knew I would have to risk it. My eyes shifted to the other 8 wolves that were sprinting at us and sent Ella a short mental message.

'Deal with the other 8 wolves, I'll deal with the black one!'

'But!'

'Just do it!'

Ella wanted to deal with the black one, as she knew how tough it truly was. I knew I couldn't keep it at bay for too long. Even being level 15 and the same level as it, I wouldn't last long. I brokered no argument though, as I rushed to the right to pull its attention.

I did send a message over though, to motivate her.

'Deal with them fast, I'm counting on you'

I threw one last look over my shoulder to give her a smile and I could see the determination that suddenly filled her eyes. It was a small fire that burned as she looked at the 8 other wolves that were rushing towards her.

Seeing that she was good I kept rushing towards the black wolf.

It was so fast!

Just watching it bound over, I could tell that I was nothing compared to its speed. I grit my teeth as I stopped in place and prepared myself. I would have to dodge its first attack for me to have a chance. The momentum it had already built to attack me would be too much. I had to stop and doge it, I couldn't take it head on.

If I did I would most likely get killed, or seriously injured.

I started to count its bound as it made its way closer, I needed to time it perfectly, when it bounded up into a lunge.

Only one more.

1…

I shifted my feet at the last second as I twisted out of its way.

2!

*Whoosh*

Its huge body bounded where I had just been standing and I watched as its teeth chomped down on the air I just occupied.

Sweat dripped from my head, as I rolled to the side and stood back up. I had no time to wipe it off as I ran towards it. I couldn't let it build its momentum again!

It had jumped a far way and was about 8-10 meters from mere I was standing; if I had been in its path my bones would have been liquefied. I sprinted as fast as I could and struck out with my blade.

*Whoosh*

It didn't even take the attack head on and dodged. I guess having almost 50 INT doesn't count for nothing. I had learned from my past mistakes though and wasn't off balance as I swung my sword.

In the past I would have been off balance from throwing too much weight into the swing, but now I could react quickly to its dodging. I had been expecting the rebound force of our collision, but even without it I was fine.

What I hadn't accounted for was the speed, it was quicker than I could react and as I tried to reposition myself, I felt the strong force crack into my rib.

It lifted me off my feet as I heard a small crack in my Armour. This was one of the first times my c.h.e.s.t Armour had been damaged in a fight. I frowned as I felt my bones vibrate and had to spit some blood mid-air.

Before I had even reached the ground I could see it closing in on me. I had to fight back. I had no clue how to fight in such an awkward position, but I had other ways to fight back. My imperial aura burst out to lock it down and try to slow it.

This didn't slow it down much, but caused it to stutter giving me more time to reach the ground. I hadn't thought that would work though and concentrated on my surroundings. The temperature started to plummet again and I could feel the ice crystals around me.

This caused the alpha to slow down tremendously. It wasn't the cold that was effective though, it was more the psychological pressure. When I had exploded before with the ice and killed all those wolves, I had made the wolf afraid of that move. This fear slowed it down as it looked at me wearily. I finally reached the ground and stood back up as the temperature remained the same.

Truly I had no clue what had happened before, the cold that had gathered in my c.h.e.s.t when my rage had hit a boiling point, had rushed into my head and caused immense pain. I had no clue what was happening as my surroundings got colder and colder.

I had no control or clue over the explosion of ice crystals that had happened next. It was probably out of instinct that I sent it towards the wolves. I had seen messages pop up again and again telling me that my Ice skill had evolved.

It hadn't evolved after I had used it for so long, but in that one instance it had actually risen to level 4!

My conjecture was that my rage had pushed 'frozen rage's' special affect into overdrive, that had in turn used the ice skill. It was an accident but a happy one. With the increase in the skill I had gained a greater control of the ability and could make the ice crystals much easier.

I wasn't drained as much as I used the skill. This was a big help when my frozen rage skill did kick in. By automatically creating the ice shards, I found I could control them. Of course it would take a longer time before I could actually control them to be deadly.

The black wolf didn't know this though and I was able to safely get back to the ground. I stood back up and stared at the wolf, which was looking at me. Noticing that I wasn't screaming in pain like last time and that nothing was happening, the red eyes that stared in my direction gleamed with a flicker of intelligence and it growled.

I knew it was going to attack soon, I couldn't bluff it forever.

"Awooooo!"

"Awooo!"

"Awooo!"

As the black wolf was about to charge right back at me, 3 howls of pain rang out and both of us looked in their direction. Ella had her hand plunged in one of the wolf's c.h.e.s.ts and blood was spurting out like crazy.

2 more wolves also had c.h.e.s.t and leg injuries and were lying at her feet. Just when you think it would be over and she would take her hand out to fight off the other 5 wolves; she actually swung the body like a club and hit another wolf. Following that she used all her might to swing it in another direction.

The bones surrounding the c.h.e.s.t couldn't handle the force and the body actually flung out into another wolf. In her hands was the red heart of the wolf that she had just killed and before the wolves attacked again she shoved it in her mouth were she bit it.

Blood exploded out over her face and onto her cloths as she then swallowed the rest.

*Gulp*

Making a loud gulping sound she showed a blood coloured smile, l.i.c.k.i.n.g her lips.

I was taken aback as I watch and so was the black wolf. I could feel its aura build a tad higher as it howled out and turned back in my direction. Its eyes seemed even more menacing.

"Haha."

I let out a hollow laugh.

Give me a break.
