192. I Never Sleep with My Fans (2)

Thinking back to it, He Zheng felt that neither being sucked into the Phantom Market nor falling into the Human Devil’s hands sounded an appealing choice.

“I was so unlucky!” He Zheng came to a simple conclusion about the cause of the whole thing.

“Not really.” Li Zong dissolved into smile at his words and then picked up a stack of neatly folded clothes from the table on the side. “Don’t think too much. Go take a shower and have some rest. We’ll muster very early tomorrow morning.”

He Zheng gave a nod, took the clothes and went to the bathroom, suspecting nothing.

Li Zong walked onto the balcony, took his cellphone from his pocket and dialed Zhao Fei’s number.

In a residential district called Jiangnan Waterside Terrace located at the center of Hang City.

Jiangnan Waterside Terrace was near the West Lake Square, where housing prices were alarmingly high. This residential district, in particular, was quite famous for its premium apartments and mansions, and sometimes people needed to have more than money to buy a house in this place.

Paying the highest price meant gaining the greatest enjoyment. All services provided by the property management company of this residential distract were of international standards, and the company set great store by protecting homeowners’ privacy, which was why a lot of stars, politicians and successful businessmen had bought houses here.

Zhao Fei the superstar owned a top-of-the-line duplex in one of the buildings in this residential district.

Holding his cellphone between his cheek and his shoulder, his hair dripping wet, walking to the side to grab a towel to dry his hair, Zhao Fei said into the phone, “… Qiu Luo is pretty lucky. Mr. Wu of the Order of Xilengyin happens to be here and will stay for another few days. He said that Qiu Luo’s injury is not severe, but it’ll take him some time to recover.”

“I see. I’ll have Qiu Luo sit out this task.” Li Zong’s lukewarm voice came from the other end of the phone. “I watched the video the sub-bureau sent me. The demonic Qi that attacked them at the entrance of the alley last night was not a high-level demon but the Human Devil’s duplicate. I think the Human Devil is probably also responsible for the murder of those college students.”

The look in Zhao Fei’s eyes slightly changed at these words.

He raised his head to look at the ceiling from which hung a baroque chandelier that he had bought from overseas and could never get tired of seeing. Gradually, Zhao Fei’s charming voice was tinged with coldness. “If the Human Devil is really behind this, Wang Dong and his friends would by no means be the last victims.”

His lips twitched. “Maybe he’s murdering someone else as we speak.”

After hanging up the phone, Zhao Fei sat into a chair, alone in the room. As the group leader of the action group of the sub-bureau in Hang City as well as a TV star, Zhao Fei had been living a life the pace of which was as fast as that of a high-speed chase scene.

Eyes closed, Zhao Fei leaned against the back of the leather chair, his mind working madly.

Knock, knock, knock.

The knock at the door sounded faintly harsh. Zhao Fei opened his eyes which were rather flinty, feeling somewhat annoyed by this unexpected visitor who was disturbing his rest.

But he still rose to his feet, walked up to the door and looked through the peephole.

Standing in the doorway was a tall man who had a pair of dark gray eyes.

Zhao Fei was briefly stunned, hands poised on the handle. For the first time in his life, Zhao Fei opened the door for a stranger instead of pretending not to be in.

The man outside seemed to be a little surprised to see him open the door so easily. He flicked a glance at Zhao Fei whose hair was half-dry, and whose bathrobe was slightly slack, beads of water slowly running down from his pert collarbones, which was a tempting sight.

“Do you open the door for anybody who knocks?” asked the man after gazing at Zhao Fei for quite a while.

A chuckle escaped Zhao Fei’s lips. Zhao Fei suddenly felt less fretful after hearing this conversation starter. He folded his arms across his chest and leaned against the door frame in an extremely relaxed way, his voice heavy with some kind of inexplicable emotion. “Not everybody knows where I live.”

The man lowered his eyes briefly, the expression in them inscrutable.

Zhao Fei stared at this uninvited caller who had shown up on the set on a daily basis just to have a glance at him, unable to tell what this man wanted.

As an actor enjoying a decent level of popularity, Zhao Fei had some crazed fans, but none of them had ever piqued Zhao Fei’s curiosity and interest like this man did.

The man kept silent for a while. Though the expression on his face remained apathetic as he saw Zhao Fei’s smile, in the heart of his hearts he felt quite perplexed. He was always a very rational man. Even he himself had never thought that some day he would be so attracted to a B-list TV star. On that day, after merely seeing Zhao Fei’s face on a poster on the side of a street, he had actually started searching for all kinds of information about Zhao Fei like crazy.

He had no idea why this was happening, but he was irresistibly drawn to this B-list TV star.

What he didn’t know was that the “B-list TV star” standing opposite him felt the same way about him.

The two men’s eyes met in mid-air. At the sight of the pair of dark gray eyes, Zhao Fei lost all of his self-restraint.

They saw ill-concealed desire and a hint of something inexplicably familiar in each other’s eyes.

They didn’t know who was the first to reach out his hand. The two of them cuddled, their foreheads against each other. As though there was some kind of natural bond between them, both of them felt fully relaxed.

Totally unsurprised by the moments the two of them were having, Zhao Fei licked his rosy lower lip, which went wet and looked very sultry.

“Hey, given how long you’ve been stalking me, I think you know that I never sleep with my fans, don’t you?” Even his voice was full of joy.

The man pressed his lips against Zhao Fei’s, forcing the last few words of Zhao Fei’s between their twining tongues. His voice was husky with longing. “Surely you can make an exception when a fan offers to sleep with you?”

Zhao Fei chuckled.

“Certainly…”
