Yu Xiaogang and Flender didn't believe what they were hearing, Mubai was going through the ritual inheritance of the evil eye sage?! Madness...then again so was the world they live in so it would be more understandable, Ray explained how the inheritance worked and how losing your spirit power was the beginning, then going through the trials of the sage, basically, it was like going through tribulation.

Yu Xiaogang sighed and said, "Then...I guess that means we will have to stop Mubai for fighting for the meantime.", Mubia had a bitter face and said, "Are you sure there's no other way?!", "Mubai, I don't see why you're that bothered, your only gonna be out for a few matches and don't worry about dying, if that happens then I'll go to the heavens and kill the sage myself!", Ray said this with a laugh and confidence and patted Mubai's shoulder, "Er...sure...", "Hm? That sounds like you don't have faith in me, your own brother, I'm heartbroken!", Ray said with sarcasm and as if he was staring in a drama, "N-no I'm not doubting you brother...it's just I wanna fight...sigh...just win.", "Pfft, like you had to ask, they're gonna be easy to defeat, they use ice, out of all things they use an element that I can take control over, hahaha!", they kept bantering and then they match was starting.

First came Skywater academy who showed off with a performance as idols do and then Shrek came striding forward but instead of Mubai and Tang san being up front it was Ray and Tang san, Ray was thinking, 'For the next few matches I might as well be at the front, maybe I'll get some more fans!', the audience saw that Ray was at the front and some of the shouted things like, "Holy shit it's him the one who caused the whole arena to freeze up, the god damn monster! WOOO! We love you monster!", and others, more specifically said, "Hey it's him hidden handsome of the Shrek team!", and then many of the girls started to talk about who was the most handsome amongst Shrek whether it was Mubai, Tang san or Ray.

The Skywater team were talking amongst their group and they agreed that they had to be serious against their team and then their captain, Shui Bing Er said to the vice-captain Shui Yue Er, "Yue Er, Shrek is strong and they are using the new guy Ray who has unpredictable abilities and it a spirit king...", "Big sis, look at him, he's so handsome!", "Are you even listening to me?! He may be handsome but that doesn't mean you should let your emotions get over you, he's also the most troublesome one!"

The announcer finally began the match, the two teams began to reach each other in the middle of the stage, Ray went against their vice-captain and she used her spirit abilities first, she used her second spirit ability [Zero Degree Impact] and Ray used his [Flame Cerebrus Charge] and overpowered her with the intense heat coming from his attack, she was thrown back closer towards the edge and said, "S-strong!", she then used her agility abilities to try and get closer and behind him but then she didn't expect to be teleported next to him which shocked and slowed down her reaction time, Ray grabbed her by the arm and threw her off the stage which made her even more in awe at how quick he was, she thought she could be more flirty with him but she was already taken out of the match and wasn't quick enough to stop herself from falling to the ground.

Her other teammates saw that she was taken out so quickly and as they lost focus they were pushed back a bit, Ray thought, 'Damn they are easier to beat than I thought!' and went to look for other opponents to defeat, he saw that their support was at the back and teleported next to her which made her sweatdrop as she felt someone behind her and Ray said, "Bye bye!", and also grabbed her by the hand and threw her off the stage but as she was a support type she wasn't able to land probably and landed face down into the ground, 'Oh crap! Should've held back a bit', before he went to go look for someone else to fight he shouted, "Sorry! Forgot for a second you were a support type!" as she was on the ground she got up slowly with an angry and fl.u.s.tered face and thought, 'Yeah right! God damn it, I was like a doll to him! Shameless!' she kept cursing in her mind and went to her side and watched the remaining match.

Ray found his next target named Ke Han who was fighting Tian Long, Ray said, "I got this one you go help someone else!", Tian Long nodded his head and went to help someone else on his team, "You seem confident!", "Well I did get rid of your chances of winning when I got rid of one of your fusion member as well as your support and I'm a spirit king so I have the higher chance of winning, and I almost forgot...your gonna feel suppressed in a sec!", "What do you Me-", she was someone who used a beast spirit that uses ice so Ray used his [Beast Elemental Domain] and buffed everyone on his team and made everyone on the enemies team with a beast spirit suppressed making it harder for them to fight and they were slowly getting knocked back, "Feel it now?! Hahaha!", Ray laughed and kicked her off the stage as she was in a dilemma as her spirit rings weren't working properly, she landed on the ground head first and thought, 'Strong! He's way too strong, he was even able to suppress me?!', she got up and looked at her other teammates and saw that they were having the same effects as what she had earlier and she thought, 'W-what?! He can affect everyone, h-he has a domain ability?!!'

Ray then went for their other support who was guarded more closely but that didn't help as they were still under the effects of the suppression and were still being bombarded with attacks by Shrek who were buffed with their attacks being covered in a heavy flame that they couldn't extinguish, he teleported above her this time and did a backflip in the air as he was falling straight down and was gonna land on his legs, he put his hand in a claw and fired a wind attack that curved and pushed the support away from the rest of her teammates, Ray boosted himself with lightning and grabbed her by the legs as she was on the floor and pushed her off this time as to not make the same mistake as last time.

As they only had three teammates left, Shrek went full blast and attacked with everything they had with Ray firing fire attacks and messing with their ice attacks and making them miss, they were being pushed towards the edge and they couldn't use a spirit fusion ability.

Tang san got fed up and went into his blackening form and began to bind them all in his blackened grass and everyone attacked more fiercely and knocked the rest out of bounds and they won, their captain was furious and thought, 'We lost because they had that monster on their team!', she looked at Ray who was standing proudly with the wind in his hair and smiling and she thought, 'He is really handsome and powerful as she said...' and then she had a slightly red face and then got up with the help of her teammates and left to her resting area.

Ray began to heal his teammates and said to Tang san, "Well, that was an easy win!", "Yup!" and then they began to wave at everyone watching the match somewhere boing but there was a lot of people that were celebrating Shrek's win in the final preliminary battle.

THE NEXT DAY

As the qualifiers have ended an imperial commandment is given out to all the teams who advanced from the preliminaries' and bestowing glory and large amounts of wealth, the emperor gave a speech about with the young spirit masters the empire would last forever and whatnot and then they began the to give the crowns out, Shrek sent Xiao Wu who was crowned by Rongrong's father and then she asked about the prize money.

Yu Xiaogang decided that they needed a more in-depth analysis of Mubai's condition, so they brought the poison Douluo, Du Gu Bo who said the same as Ray but in a more blunt way and saw that they didn't have much of a reaction, "I already told them this.", said Ray, "Oh? Okay then also I have to thank you for that little gift little monster! Hahaha!", "Haha! No worries, we're friends!", they then went and talked more about the inheritance and then Du Gu Bo went to talk to Tang san about poisons and such, Mubia and Zhu Zhu Qing went away to have a talk...

A while later Mubai came back asleep in the arms of Zhu Zhu Qing and the inheritance trial officially began.

Mubai still didn't wake up but didn't mean he was going to lose, in fact, this meant that everything was going as it should.

Later on, Mubai woke up and instantly opened his eyes and looked around him, Zhu Zhu Qing looked at him and he smiled at her, they talked for a bit but then Ray walked in, "Hey! You're finally awake!", "Yeah!Hm? Ray, you look weird.", "What do you mean?", "I don't know but you have this bright aura around you...", "Oh...I know what you mean, don't pay it any attention, it's just that your senses are higher enough to see the aura coming off my spirit essences.", "Oh, okay.", 'Holy crap! He could sense the dragon avatar! Must be the sage's abilities, probably made him able to detect it's aura as it is a god-like being itself.', then Ray looked at Mubai with his dragon eyes and saw the boost in spirit power he was given, 'The heck he's rank 49 now? That means if I give him some help he could become a spirit king as well by the time we reach the other tournament.'

Later on in the day, Du Gu Bo was talking to Tang san and Ray about the next tournament they were going to, "It's going to be hard for you guys, especially when they have three spirit kings.", "Oh, you don't have to worry about that, I'm already a spirit king and Mubai is rank 49 right now, probably boosted by the sage powers and with a little help he could become a spirit king by the time we get to the next tournament, that and we have the best support types, Oscar by no means is any less and Tang san has his 10,000-year-old ring with the blackening and his external spirit ring, the others are just as good and if you think age is what makes the difference then you need to go out more old monster!", Ray said and Tang san agreed along with him, Du Gu Bo sighed and said, "Then I wish you well, Spirit Hall will try to give you trouble like the bastards they are, even if you win it won't be over and Tang san be careful as my friend I have to give you a warning, you are the blood of the clear sky Douluo, if you are going to use the hammer you will be hunted by Spirit Hall, the feud between them is still not over.", he continued to warn them but eventually he left with a fair well.
