The family of five walked side by side as they headed to the Academy. The people around looked at them differently. Some had looks of resentment and dislike, some had smiles, while some also radiated blatant killing intent.

But these stares, they were already used to it.

Unfortunately, not everyone can get used or endure it. If only everyone had the same attitude, then everything would be peaceful.

'I really want to gouge their eyes out and feed them to dogs.' Ken thought, feeling the cold but pathetic killing intent emitted by some of those people. It may be a wrong train of thought but to the Uchiha Clan who have been enduring such kind of stares for the past 3 years, it would be impossible for them not to develop hatred for the village too.

Ken could have ignored those if he did not know the truth, but he knew about what happened three years ago. At least, a fraction of it.

From his observation of the Uchiha Clan, he knew that they really had nothing to do with the attack. And even if it was indeed true that someone from the Uchiha Clan had controlled the Kyuubi, it was pretty clear that they operated alone.

Ken knew that the people were just too foolish to understand, too gullible to believe the lies told to them, too indifferent to care, and too selfish that they rejoice.

Such is life, and life is unfair. If only everyone was the same, then the world would be peaceful.

Today is the entrance test of the Academy. Well, there is actually no entrance test for him.

As a son of a Jounin, he was already qualified to enter the Academy without taking a test. His regular state of strength which could rival even Jounins made him overqualified.

But he was just forced by his parents to enter the Academy.

However, after thinking about it, Ken found out that it was really a good idea to do so. At least he would have a lot of freedom. And if he got promoted to Genin, then he would be able to go on a mission. He would be able to exit the village freely.

Itachi also taught him a good method, he could just send a Shadow Clone to the Academy if he found it boring or if he wanted to train.

It was also the method Itachi used in his one year of studying in the Academy.

That is because unlike regular Clones, Shadow Clones are basically an exact copy of oneself. The user's chakra is evenly divided between themselves and their clones: creating one clone will give it half the user's chakra, creating two clones will give each a third of the user's chakra, and so on.

Depending on how much chakra the user has and how many clones they make, this rapid depletion of their reserves can be dangerous. Because of this, usually, only those of at least jōnin-level can safely use the standard Shadow Clone Technique.

However, with Ken's massive Chakra Reserve, he could clone himself a hundred times, no problem.

...

Reaching the Academy, which was also a place where the Hokage Office is located, it was already crowded with other kids and their own families.

They had varying expressions such as Hopefulness, Joy, Expectations, Sadness, Unwillingness, Anticipation as well as D.e.s.i.r.e.

The square got rowdy as more and more people arrived.

As Ken observed, all the kids that came were around 6-8 years old. Children with ages like Ken were rare. And thanks to his Physique, Ken did not look his age either.

Just then, Ken noticed that Fugaku kept glancing at a direction. Following his gaze, Ken saw a lone kid standing in the corner.

The kid had blond hair and 3 pairs of 'scars' on his cheeks that looked like a cat's whiskers. Judging from the little boy's height, he was not even 4 years old yet.

But one thing caught Ken's attention, it was the Negative Energy surrounding the little boy. It triggered his vague memory of what happened that fateful night, three years ago.

The man with yellow hair, the woman with red hair and also the baby with yellow hair.

Although it was vague, Ken realized that the baby back then is that little boy right now.

Ken also realized that everyone was avoiding the little boy while also expressing their hate through their gazes.

'So it was that baby. Ah, to be treated like that after your parent's sacrifice. Those in the higher-ups are really cold-blooded.' Ken's eyes chilled again as he realized how incompetent the current Hokage is.

However, Ken did not know that inside the little boy, a terrifying Demon Fox was there, cowering in fear, as if afraid that it would get noticed.

...

After roughly 20 minutes, people stopped coming.

The ninja's in Chuunin uniforms started to organize how the test will take. They made all the enrollees lineup, including Ken for registration as well as to conduct a little investigation on their background. After all, it would be bad if some spy got in.

Ken decided to line up last, as he noticed that the blond little boy did not move.

"Ken, why are you not going yet?" Itachi urged.

"I want to go last," Ken replied while he kept on observing other kids. Unfortunately, all of the kids there looked ordinary. Even the other Uchiha kid did not look anything special. Well, that is in his own standards.

"Big Bro, do you know that kid over there?" Ken asked and pointed with his eyes.

"Ah, that boy is Uzumaki Naruto, the Kyuubi's Jinchuuriki," Itachi responded and also looked at the boy called Uzumaki Naruto.

"So he really is the one..." Ken subconsciously muttered making the whole family raise their eyebrows. Fortunately, they did not ask anything.

After all of the kids lined up, just like Ken predicted, the little boy, called Naruto moved and also took the back of the line which made the last kid squirm in fear.

"Do-don't come any closer!" said the irrelevant character.

Naruto clenched his fist as the Negative Energy around him got stronger, but he did not say anything. The only thing holding him back from crying was because he thought that he was strong.

Just then, Naruto felt a tap on his shoulder followed by a question.

"Yo, what's your name?" Ken asked in the most awkward manner. It was an action he learned from Shisui. The Tap and Greet Technique.

"What?" came the childish voice of Naruto.

"I am asking you what's your name. Ah...I am Uchiha Ken, nice to meet you." Realizing that he was quite rude, Ken introduced himself first. After all, he is technically still a child.

"I am Uzumaki Naruto! The man who will become the Hokage! Nice to meet you!" Hearing the friendly tone of Ken, at least, it was friendly for him, Naruto returned to normal and replied with great enthusiasm. He even handed out his hand for a shake but was met with silence.

.

"You are supposed to shake hands when you meet someone!" despite their difference in height, Naruto did not show any fear. It was more like joy! His previously down face was perfectly gone like it was never been there in the first place.

And in Ken's vision, the Negative Energy around Naruto was also decreasing. It was like the sun got brighter, incinerating some of the Negative Energy.

"You are right." With an awkward smile, Ken shook the boy's hand while also thinking, 'Interesting. So he is a positive kid. No wonder he did not get a personality disorder after that much Negative Energy around him.'

The Energies around a person is what shapes their personality, but a person with more powerful Energy inside them can counter that fact. Just like the bright and sunny Energy from Naruto.

"I am 3 years old. How old are you, Ken."

"I am five years old."

"What!! Really?!" Naruto exclaimed loudly, ignoring the irritated look of the surrounding people.

...

Mikoto smiled widely while watching her son and the son of her friend talk. She got teary-eyed recalling the memories of her fiery, red-haired best friend.

She could see the uncanny resemblance between the mother and son as well as the almost identical sunny and kind personality.

'Don't worry, Kushina. My son... my son will protect him.' Although she thought it was selfish, Mikoto still promised in her heart.
