A Necromancer's Journey

Seth spent the next three days in meditation and studying necromancy in the library before his next necromancy class was scheduled

Heading into class, Seth was instantly taken aback by the classroom. The class was completely clear of chairs and desks and six runic circles were spread out around the room. Seth recognized that the runes were arranged to create a basic corpse raising formation.

Slowly getting excited, Seth awaited for the rest of the students to arrive and for the teacher to begin to speak.

"Welcome back everyone. Today we're going to do something a little special. Today will be our first practical lesson in necromancy. If you all would choose a circle."

Seth chose the closest circle to him, quickly standing behind it as he waited for further instruction.

"The strength of the corpses depends on the level of the spirit, the strength of the caster, the strength of the runic formation, and on how far your necromancy path has gone. Those in the sight level will be able to see the spirit of the corpse they're raising as it is summoned due to the runic circle and force it to carry their seal and force them into their body making the corpse stronger and more intelligent."

"Those in the observation level (hearing, smelling, and sensing) can endow the senses they can experience into the corpses allowing them to use their senses (besides sight, they already have that)."

"Those in the physical level (being able to touch spirits) are able to merge the soul of the corpse into the body completely allowing them to have the same amount of power they had when they were alive if the caster is stronger than them in terms of spirit. They will be physically and spiritually weaker by a slight amount, but their near undying bodies that are hard to destroy make up for that in my opinion."

"At the level of acolyte, you are unable to raise the dead through your own willpower and have to rely on runic formations. As you progress into the magus level this is no longer the case for those that are weaker than you as your initial success in the path will allow you to have some control over their spirit. It is recommended that you only try this on those weaker than you by a decent amount as the stronger their spirit is the stronger yours has to be to control them and it can be hard to determine the strength of their spirit."

"Now, before we begin, do we have any questions?"

Seth raised his hand.
