A Shadow's Requiem

An unknown amount of time passed after the Elinox succ.u.mbed. When he woked up his eyes went wide open, he saw the devastation caused by the fight. His memories were a bit cloudy but one thing is for sure he should have been dead. Something was glowing beneath the pile of rubbles and collapsed trees, Elinox moves closer to see what it is.

To his shock, it was a spirit ring, the spider's spirit ring. It was a Black Ring, that means the night stalker spider was 10,000 years old. Elinox was perplexed, looking at the ring he was lost in thought whether to gamble or not. "Should I absorb it?" Elinox wondered if he should absorb the ring, high risks-high rewards.

It might give him a powerful ability for sure but the age of the ring has surpassed the limit of what the first spirit ring slot can handle. ELinox gave the ring one last look, "An opportunity like this might not come again, I better grab it before its too late" Elinox sat in a lotus position to absorb the ring.

As the ring drew closer Elinox started sweating profusely. Then pain follows, the ring was rejecting him, the will of the dead spider won't bow down. It is a fight of will, a fight of domination.

Then started from the east and now it sets to the west. Elinox successfully gained the first spirit ring for his shadow. He looked at the dead night stalker and called "I am giving you a choice, follow me to top or stay here dead, Arise" Then a black spider rose from the rubbles with eyes burning from purple flame.

"Shit, why the..." And so Elinox fainted again for overexerting himself. Unbeknown to Elinox someone was watching silently from the shadows. An Oldman in his 80s, not really in this world appearance can be deceiving. The stranger walked up to the unconscious body "Interesting, who would have thought that I will meet someone worthy to become my disciple. It seems like nothing ever is truly too late if fate allows it" He picked up Elinox before walking inside the dense foliage.

Somewhere deep inside the forest, in a clearing beside a falls stood an old cottage covered in vines. Inside the old man was brewing something in a large cauldron mixing herbs of various shapes and colors while Elinox sleeping silently still not knowing that he was dragged here by the old man.

Elinox gradually waking up realized that he was not in the forest anymore or so he thought. "That was unexpected, I was certain you would still be unconscious for a few more days." The old man said without looking back. Elinor observed the man "What a waste. Is there something you want to ask me?" Said the old man throwing the contents of the cauldron outside the window.

"Senior, would be so kind and tell me where and why I'm here," Elinox asked.

The old man pulled a stool, then he replied. "Let's start from introductions, I am Lucas, when I was gathering herbs earlier I saw something remarkable. I saw you successfully absorbing that 10,000 years old spirit ring. I saw limitless potential, therefore, I have decided to take you in as my disciple. As for where we are, you are in my home" The old man smiled.

ELinox was warry but there is nothing he can do at first he tried sensing the old man's cultivation but failed and second, when he tried using his Endless Eyes to find the old man's flaw "Flaw - 1) Has an Incurable disease that stopped him from breaking through godhood, only have a few years left to live" Only one flaw was there, Imagine if this old man wasn't sick. This Old man who calls himself Lucas surely reached the peak. "I have nowhere to go and came here to train. Having a master guide me will help me create a good foundation" Elinox said.

Elinox tried to stand. "Elinox greets mast...argh!!!" but excruciating pain engulfed him. "Don't overexert yourself, your body still hasn't fully recovered and your spirit essence is still depleted," Lucas told him, assisting him back to bed. "I bet you are hungry, it is nothing much but there is still some leftover porridge in the table if you want to" And so the relation between a master and a disciple was forged.
