Chapter 63: Being Tricked

Wu Dahu didn’t believe Yin Laosan’s every single word about his bad memory. It was obvious that this cunning fox was playing another trick deliberately. If it was Wu Decai who stood right in front of Yin Laosan, he would never give his credence on this man on the crook who talked about something like “Can’t wake up even though the sky collapses” thing.

After breakfast, and on the way again, Yin Laosan took the initiative to drive as if he was showing his great sincerity, and asked Wu Dahu to catch up some sleep.

Wu Dahu habitually thought about what Yin LaoSan could do to him this time. He found that there was nothing the tricky man could do, so he relaxed at once. Moving inside, he let Yin Laosan to control the drive.

Probably it was because that the night-watch duty was exhausting for Wu Dahu. He slept tight along the way. But then he was woken by the sound of clicking from the swords and knives.

He was shocked and then reached to touch the crossbow and dagger on his wrist. When he found everything was just well-set, he sighed with a relief.

“Damn you Yin Laosan! Where is this fxxking place you lead us to?”

It was Wu Decai who shouted outside. Seemingly, he was shouting while gritting his teeth.

Wu Dahu suddenly lifted the curtain of the carriage and flipped onto the ground. He rushed to the side of Laifu, frowning and asking, “What’s wrong?”

Actually, he could figure out something himself without Laifu’s response.

Two men holding knives and swords are fighting with Wu Decai and Wang Yuanbao not far away, and three reinforcements were rushing over from afar. Yin Laosan stood alone in the distance, waving his hands as if he was showing that he was innocent.

Just at the moment when he noticed the presence of Wu Dahu, he rushed to him with his eyes lit up, and then hid himself behind Wu Dahu.

Looking at Yin Laosan, the coward who now hid away, Laifu gushed angrily, “It’s him! I’m not quite sure why he would guide the way and bring us here while turning around on the halfway. And then we were noticed by those bandits on guard.”

Just at the moment the three reinforcements were approaching, Wu Dahu spoke to Laifu, saying, “Take care of yourself. I will join in the fight.”

Then he rushed to Wang Yuanbao and Wu Decai, helping them to fight against the bandits.

The tense situation was reversed all of a sudden since Wu Dahu’s participation. Those two bandits were beaten out of sh*t. And then Wu Dahu got approach, using the back of his dagger to stun the two. The two collapsed suddenly.

Just as Wu Decai was about to stab the bandits into their chest with his knife in hand, Yin Laosan shouted trying to interrupt, “Don’t do that! If you kill them we probably can’t make it to get out of this woods.”

Taking a pause, Wu Decai was about to ask the reason. But the reinforcements had already arrived, so he had to grab his knife and got ready for another fight. They seemed to have a really good martial skill, but they still solved them with great difficulty. And they didn’t kill them all but stunned them instead.

Searching around to make sure there wouldn’t be any other reinforcements coming over, Wu Dahu frowned and then turned to ask Yin Laosan, “How do you know that we will be trapped in this woods if we kill these bandits?”

Yin Laosan rolled his eyes and smiled awkwardly, answering, “It’s just a speculation from me. Hey, just think about it. Those who are willing to become bandits must be much fiercer and vindictive. If their group find out that we kill their brothers, they probably will chase us behind till the edge of the sea and kill us all. And the situation will be much different if we just release them. Does that make sense?”

Although his words sounded quite reasonable, it was not easy to fool people like Wu Dahu and Wu Decai who were paying much attention on everything.

Wu Decai grinned in a menacing way, and then placed his knife on the neck of Yin Laosan, saying fiercely, “Well then, we will just let them go. But let’s get even now! Why the heck did you bring us here?”

The cold blade seemed to be about to cut the skin of Yin Laosan in the next second. Yin Lao San, who was currently threatened to get killed, didn’t dare swallow water in his mouth and said stiffly, “What are you doing? Aren’t we in the same boat? It was just a misjudgment from me. I won’t make it next time…”

“A misjudgment?” Wu Decai squinted and repeated as if he had heard something fun, and then he continued to say,  “This kind of misjudgment doesn’t seem to be a normal judgment that a normal man would make. When he mentioned the idea of “KILLING” plan, he took a fast glance at Laifu, Wang Yuanbao and Wu Dahu. Obviously, he was suggesting to these three.

Noticing the other three were all keeping their silence, Yin Laosan, who had always been fearless, finally showed a fearful expression and said in a hurry, “Though I got nothing good to protect the team, I got prowess in disguising! Wu Dahu observed silently from the side. When he saw the fierce glint in Wu Decai’s eyes, he suddenly said, “Just let him go.”

Laifu glanced at Wu Dahu and nodded, saying, “Yes, let him go. We haven’t lost anything anyway. Right? Yuanbao?”

Seeing that Laifu suddenly asked for his opinion, Wang Yuanbao was stunned and said in a daze, “Yes, sure..”

The minority should be subordinate to the majority. So Wu Decai got no choice.

If he persisted in killing this guy, he probably would gain some disdain by the rest of three, and next time when they met another danger, the three probably would just ignore him and just left.

He sighed heavily and then put down the knife.

No one knew if it was because the blade of the knife was too sharp or Wu Decai did it intentionally. At the moment Wu Decai put down his knife, Yin Laosan screamed painfully while holding tight on his throat. It could be seen from the intervals between his fingers there seeped some blood. Though it wasn’t kind of serious, it was still scary.

Wu Decai said in a low voice as if he ignored the scene on purpose, “Let’s just leave now, they will follow up very soon.”

Lei Fu glanced at Yin Laosan but said nothing at all, and then he winked at Wu Dahu and got into his carriage.

Wu Dahu turned back to the carriage and opened his baggage. He took out ointment and gauze from inside, indicating for Yin Lao to loosen his hands. After cleaning his wound up with the gauze, he applied ointment on and then bandaged it.

Yin Laosan looked at Wu Dahu suspiciously while touching his throat. Noticing that there was no blood seeping out, he finally loosened his nerve and then got himself into the carriage.

Probably Wu Decai was afraid that the misleading situation would be happen again. He took the lead to guide the way, and didn’t even slow down waiting for the latter carriage.

Not long after the carriage was moving, Yin Laosan moved slowly to the front side, asking, “Why did you save me? Haven’t you had found out that I was deliberately doing that?”

Wu Dahu then answered calmly, “If we allow him to kill someone now, no one is able to predict if he will kill another one next time. Man is always born with greed.”

Yin Laosan chuckled and raised his eyebrows, saying, “OH, so you did find out that the guy wanted to kill me because he wanted to possess one more share? Quite smart of you. Then do you know why I would love to come here and meet with this group of bandits?”

Wu Dahu pondered for a while, and then said peacefully, “I suppose that there is someone whom you have crushed on in this group, right?”

With a great shock, Yin Laosan fell to the seat inside the carriage, and then asked incredibly, “How do you know??”

Wu Dahu glanced at him and answered indifferently, “I did not know at all, but now I know it.”

Yin Laosan didn’t become irritated at all being deceived by Wu Dahu, but he got more excited at once, asking, “At least you have some proofs to speculate. Why did you just pick up that possibility but not others?”

Last minutes ago the man was shivering and wetting himself in his pants, and now right at the moment he was like full of beans. Wu Dahu was really amazed by the roller-coaster-like attitude of Yin Laosan.

He pondered for a moment and then answered slowly, “I think you would love to take a big risk to change the route and came here to meet with the gang of bandits, there must exists someone you really care for. And it can also be speculated that what you really care for is someone, not something, because when you saw Wu Decai was about to kill them, you stopped him by making a random excuse. And plus, you told me yesterday that people love you line up from the South Gate to the North Gate, but you told me that they are all idiots. So I would speculate from that that you don’t really care for who show their love to you. However, there exists only two kinds of infatuation in this world, to love or to be loved. So I would suppose that in that gang of bandits, you’ve got someone you love inside.”

Yin Laosan patted Wu Dahu on the shoulder after listening to Wu Dahu’s analysis, saying, “Hmm, you are much amazing. You must have the same talent as I do. But by the way, will you just forget about the thing I’ve done and let me shirk the guilt?”

Seeing the man was full of expectation on face, Wu Dahu cast a damp over it, and then said in calmness, “Well, if avoiding you to meet with the one you love is what you just mentioned about ‘Shirk the Guilt’, then I would say I will forget about it.”

Yin Laosan got his nerve strained all of a sudden, and then asked hurriedly, “What are you going to do? Will you change the route?”

Wu Dahu glanced at him cheerfully and then answered leisurely, “Oh, now it’s you who can’t take the joke.”

Yin Laosan was shocked sitting there, and then he recalled the scene how he made fun of Wu Dahu yesterday. He wanted to retort, but then he came to know the fact that his life was not strictly controlled by Wu Dahu. He could only keep his silence and then snorted there.

On the double, the five arrived in the town before its curfew, and then they checked in at a random lodge.

The next morning, Laifu woke up early and then he came to wake Wu Dahu up, and was ready to acquire fur with him.

Yin Laosan woke up either hearing some noises outside, and then he just participated in their breakfast without greeting. Grabbing a meat bun over, he commenced eating.

Though Laifu didn’t want Yin Laosan to get killed, it didn’t mean that he had forgiven his behavior of misleading the route. Laifu then frowned, saying, “You can just stay here in this lodge. We’ve got enough labor force. Three days later you can come gather with us.”

Yin Laosan was enjoying the buns in a leisurely manner, he showed no anxiety to respond to what Laifu said but just delivered the two a grinning face, saying, “I’ve got another prowess that I’ve never show you before, that is- BARGAINING.”
