Chapter 65: Midnight Sneak Raid

There exists only tiny difference between Femina man and Man. The only obvious distinction between these two genders is that every femina man gets a slight and slender thread on his belly. So only natural parents know the exact gender their child is on his birth date. Outsiders will never know the fact unless they get to ask the child’s parents.

Wu Dahu stared at Yin Laosan who was as tall as himself. He thought this guy would be one of the exceptions.

Yin Laosan was irritated suddenly, staring at Wu Dahu with his eyes wide-open and shouting, “I told you I am not! That’s nonsense! If you keep talking like that, you will get punishment.”

After further confirming his suspicion, Wu Dahu said nothing but turned to get the meat out of the soup and then put them all on fire.

Seeing that Wu Dahu was showing a face of indifference, Yin Laosan rolled his eyes a bit while conceiving of another idea in his mind, and then he went upstairs without talking to Wu Dahu for further details.

The owner of this lodge walked in right at the moment when Wu Dahu made every piece of meat into dry ones but hadn’t packed them all yet. He then glanced at the dry meat in the bowl, saying excitedly, “Oh Brother, this meat smells different from the others…”

In showing the gratitude for letting him use the kitchen, Wu Dahu took the initiative to deliver a piece of dry meat to the owner of the lodge, saying with a smile, “Would you like to try some? I think you’ve never tasted something like this.”

Nodding, the lodge owner tore off one piece of dry meat in hands, and then put the slice into his mouth.

Noticing that the lodge owner getting his eyes lit up all of a sudden, the chef aside couldn’t help but approach to tear off another piece of the dry meat, and then chewed slowly.

After swallowing the last bit of meat in mouth, the lodge owner stared at the pile of dry meat behind Wu Dahu with earnest. Sliding throat and swallowing water in mouth, he asked Wu Dahu tentatively, “Brother, how do you sell the dry meat? If it’s possible, would you consider selling them all to me?”

Licking the last drop of oil on finger, the chef echoed, “It would be better if you sell us something that can be cooked by boiled water.”

The lodge owner took a glance at the remaining soup in the pot with his eyes lit up again, and then he delivered a look of praising to the chef.

Sure enough, only an experienced proficient knows the knack.

Wu Dahu then smile plainly, rubbing his hands with a handkerchief and saying, “I got quite a lot. And tomorrow I will keep making the dry meat. If I get surplus ones, I will give you the rest. But as for the dry meat, I can sell them now for you. What do you say?”

Though he might not be able to get the seasonings, it would be also nice to get some dry meat. In that thought, the lodge owner didn’t show any disappointment at all, and then he commenced negotiating with Wu Dahu about the price with earnest.

At the end of the negotiation, they reached an agreement finally. Wu Dahu decided to sell the dry meat to the lodge owner at a price three times higher than the price of the flesh. Though it wasn’t a huge amount of coins, it was still a thick profit in total.

During their lunch, Wu Dahu noticed that Yin Laosan had already identified with Laifu, the two were just in full swing talking. No one was able to interrupt their conversation.

Well, for Wu Dahu, the one who was quite introverted and showed no interest to be a talkative one, it was quite a good thing. And so did Wang Yuanbao. As for Wu Decai, he had got a sullen face along the trip since his idea to kill Yin Laosan was voted down, he acted so passively as if someone owed him eight hundred thousand silver coins.

At noon, those who were eager to run their fur business began arriving at the lodge, and asked the team if they were really acquiring the prey. After confirming the fact, these people took out the prey they were grabbing, and then lined up waiting for coins exchanging.

Staring at the prey with fluffy appearance, Laifu delivered a smile of delight. His eyes were fixed on the prey, and then he indulged himself in the dream that he was surrounded by numerous ingots. Grinning, he was trading joyfully.

But Wu Dahu got a headache right away. He couldn’t make it to handle this bunch of flesh alone. And if he couldn’t make it today, it would be harder for him to handle tomorrow.

Because if this group of people went back to their village, they probably would propagate the news in a wider area. So it would only be more people rather than be less tomorrow.

Yin Lao seemed to have seen through the predicament of Wu Dahu, he then walked over with a grinning face, while pretending to be kind and saying, “Brother Dahu, your hands must be full tied, right? Well, I got nothing to do now, I will give you a hand.”

Wu Dahu glanced at him and raised his eyebrows, saying, “Really? For free? No other condition?”

Wu Dahu automatically ignored the second half of his words and said, “Oh, you expect nothing in return. Alright, then come and help me chop these fleshes in bump.”

Seeing that Wu Dahu called out to him without hesitation, Yin Laosan glared at him and was about to turn around and leave. But just at the moment he stepped forward, Wu Dahu shouted again, saying, “I guess so. We can’t fully believe someone, because he is always telling a lie.”

Yin Laosan stamped on his foot with rage. He was entangled with himself right there, but then still carried those fleshes on his shoulder heading to the kitchen.

Wu Dahu followed him leisurely. Seeing that Yin Laosan was drenched in sweat after cutting the flesh for a while, he raised his eyebrows and said, “If you don’t have the strength, don’t get yourself into a dead end. Go and make a soup for me.”

Yin Laosan could clearly feel that there was another meaning in Wu Dahu’s words, he then gritted his teeth, saying, “For Buddha’s sake, I’m really not a femina man!”

Wu Dahu didn’t retort at all. So Yin Laosan only had to make the soup with reluctance.

Luckily, Yin Laosan wasn’t really an annoying guy when he was at work. He didn’t buzz around or talk some nonsense, but work hard together with Wu Dahu. They got everything done finally before dinner.

After getting the money from the lodge owner, Wu Dahu knew that the dry meat he made would probably not be able to sell it out tomorrow at the scene. Fortunately, he planned to bring it back to sell before selling it, so he was not too disappointed. On the contrary, it was Yin Laosan who criticized the lodge owner behind his back.

At night, Wu Dahu took his quilt and matting to Laifu’s room.

Wu Dahu didn’t think too much yesterday and chose the same room with Yin Laosan. He didn’t figure out that Yin Laosan was a femina man at all yesterday.

But from current situation, he was quite confident that Yin Laosan was a femina man instead of a man though the guy refused to admit it.

So Wu Dahu couldn’t stay with Yin Laosan in the same room anymore, he not only considered about his own, but the self-esteem and fame of Yin Laosan.

Though Laifu felt a bit strange over Wu Dahu’s decision, he didn’t ask for further details. He could only imagine that probably Yin Laosan made noises which failed Wu Dahu to get sleep. Midnight, Wu Dahu finally sunk in his dream after a long and good natter with Laifu. The breath sounds of his gradually became steadier.

Turning over in bed, Wu Dahu was all taken by the drowsiness. But suddenly, a slight noise came over from the window side.

He opened his eyes wide in a flash, shook his sleeves a bit and hid the dagger in his hand, and then he stood up and walked to the window side meticulously and noiselessly.

The next second, a slender bamboo pipe pierced the window paper and broke in, and then it could be seen that a shroud of white smoke emitted from the pipe. The smoke was like a soul-extracting curse, seemingly ready to take someone’s life.

Wu Dahu’s eyelids dropped, and was about to rushed outward and caught the man outside the room. But he couldn’t be impulsive because he couldn’t even make sure how many people there were. He just grabbed a cloth aside to cover his mouth and nose, and then pinched the pipe slightly to prevent the smoke coming out. For the final steps, he put away the quilt and matting on the ground and used them to wrap Laifu tightly, then he hid themselves under the bed, waiting for the men coming inside.

After about a quarter, the men outside pushed the door open and then walked in sneakily.

By dint of the moonlight, Wu Dahu could discern quickly the quantity of the other party. When he found that three people were breaking in, he found it was wise for him not to be impulsive and rush out. Otherwise, he would have been killed or something facing three of them by his own.

Though it was also the same situation that he had to face with these three alone, he was at a dominant position which allowed him to attack without attracting attention. And it wasn’t impossible for him to make a surprise attack successfully.

The leader in black among the three walked slowly to the bed, and, seemingly, he was prepared to stab the “man” in bed with a knife in hand.

Turning over under the bed, Wu Dahu took out the dagger in his hand and then stabbed the man who was standing aside the bed. With blood splashing all over, the man collapsed all of a sudden.

Surprisingly, the other two shivered a bit there. But they became more composed after finding out that only Wu Dahu was inside the room. And then they rushed over and were about to attack Wu Dahu from two different directions.

Wu Dahu dodged their attacks nimbly, and then approached to one of them in an agile move. With a front sweep, he got the man tripped on the ground, and then hit him on his neck with a great strength. The man was stunned all of a sudden.

The man left in the room who was the only one rival for Wu Dahu now tried to stab Wu Dahu on his chest, but he failed to make it and only scratched the corner of Wu Dahu’s cloth. Frightened, he turned around trying to go outward and escape.

Wu Dahu stayed still, showing no anxiety to chase, but he just raised his arms and then pressed the trigger of the crossbow on his wrist. The arrow was launched right away and hit the man’s knee.

“AHH!”

A scream full of shock and fright broke the dreary silence in this noiseless night. And the next minute, several rooms were lighted up with candle lights.

Wu Dahu thought Laifu was getting some troubles, he then rushed to lower his head, just as he found out that everything was just fine with Laifu, he asked in an amusing tone, “What are you screaming for?”

Noticing Wu Dahu was just right there, Laifu was acting like he had grasping a straw which was able to drag him out of a terrifying nightmare. With a shocking face, he pointed at the place where lying a man, saying and shivering, “Why… why there lies a dead body…”

Turning head, Wu Dahu found that the man who was taken down on the ground was just facing towards Laifu, with a pool of blood aside. Well, indeed, it was really like a dead body.

He reached forth to drag Laifu out, and when he was about to explain, the door was open and Wu Decai, Wang Yuanbao and Yin Laosan broke in, followed by the lodge owner and one of the waiters.

Just at the moment they saw several people lying on the ground with blood, the lodge owner was shocked, shivering and saying, “What… what’s happening? Go… go and get the yamen runners here.”

The waiter responded hurriedly and then rushed outwards in a quick move.

Seeing that the crowd gathered around, Wu Dahu recounted the whole event from the very beginning. And then he walked to the man who was shoot on knee, with calmness, he pinched the man’s chin, saying, “Who instigated you to this mission? Why did you attack us?”

Subconsciously, just as he mentioned the word “INSTIGATED”, he glanced at Yin Laosan, and found the man was with a pale face standing there. Everything seemed to be clear right now!
