"Thank you all for joining us here today! As you may already know, the two Guilds facing off in today's match is none other than Kryptonite and Law Breakers!" Applause and screams filled the lore as if they were about to commence into a vicious battle.

The announcer continued to speak over the roar of the crowd. There was no stopping them, with the most powerful guild being called, who can expect a lowly introduction.

"Facing off the challenger in today's duel! Law Breakers!"

The students howled in excitement, not for the guild, but to see them get beaten without question. The blistering noises from the seats settled down and the announcer began to overtake the crowd once more, "The rules are very simple in today's, and all matches unless otherwise stated. The first team to either immobilize their opponents, or render their opponents ability to continue fighting is victorious! If a medical emergency is at hand, the match will be canceled and will be concluded as a draw!"

The crowd was anxiously waiting to see who will be fighting, and how many will be on the field.

"Today's match will be a three on three battle, as randomly decided by the faculty advisors!"

The screams and whistles from the seats of the stadium picked up louder than before. Everyone eager to site what could be history, or another scrap of time wasted due to overwhelming dominance by one of the guilds.

Three students appeared on the left and right side of the stadium. The announcer gave a proper introduction to both teams. Kryptonite on the left, and Law Breakers on the right.

Before the match even began Rina noticed a clear indication of what could be the outcome of the match. "Hey!" She looked at Calvin and the rest of her guild beside her, "Do you guys see that?"

"See what?" Atlas responded with confusion.

"Yes, it's quite obvious," Faibel claimed with no interest at all.

"Do you see the way each team is standing right now?" She got the attention of everyone very quickly after that remark, making Atlas and Leo squint their eyes at the field.

"Look at the way the Law Breakers are standing. They clearly have a plan, and even though they are weaker, they seem to have quite the confidence of winning this fight."

"Smart girl." Calvin nodded. "Proceed."

"Kryptonite seems to be carelessly just waiting for the match to start. They seem to think this is going to be a one sided fight. I however, disagree with their expressions."

"I noticed that too! I was just waiting for someone else to say it." Paris butted in with no intention of showing her intelligence, but rather to get Calvin's attention as well. The only reply she got from him was a face of 'Did you now?' Causing Rina to laugh in privacy.

The match finally began. In an instant, the three Law Breakers were all off in different directions, fast, ready to strike. This action woke up Kryptonite with an unexpected rush, without a plan in mind, and no clue on who to target first. The earth beneath Kryptonite started to fall, causing them to plummet down without control of their balance. One of the members shot a flare type attack into the sky, hoping to catch someone in it, only to signal the sign of defeat instead.

They were now in a hole under ground, ready to pounce back to the surface with revenge. Before they could reach the surface, dark fog spread across the field, sinking deep into the whole, impairing any vision one might have. It was like someone shut the lights off before bed, submerging the darkness around them. The fog was a simple spell cast by one of the Law breakers, which was enhanced even further to nullify any magic that might be casted within its grips of darkness.

The third and final attack came straight from the sky, in combination with the fog. The third student sent a neurovascular shock through the fog, penetrating the spinal cord of the students in the whole, causing them to be paralyzed for a few moments. However, they had nothing left in stock, nothing else to throw at them, and nothing else to secure their victory.

They didn't need it, the announcer called the match, the three students were paralyzed in the hole, unable to move, filled with faces of humiliation to gaze upon the stadium. The crowd roared in excitement once more, with a new champion on the ranks to beat.

Calvin looked at Rina, "Well done. You'll be down there soon enough too. I hope you all learned a lesson today."

He didn't get any replies, he didn't need them. Their faces had the answers he was looking for painted right on them.

After the wrap up of the battle, emptiness filled the lore. The screams of excitement and the thunderous applause of cheer were gone, vanished as if they never even came. The guild headed to the plaza, ready to grab some fuel for the rest of the day. They were going to need as much grub as possible for what Calvin had planned right after.

Lunch time was the most interesting time of the day for food. The plaza served anywhere from plates of early Japanese cuisine to crispy bites of tender, marinated meats with freshly roasted vegetables, served with elegant sauces to give such unique flavors.

Anywhere in the world throughout history, if it was made before, you could find it there. The tastes of all the members of Endless Sun were vastly different from one another, grabbing different meals and different portions of food, Cartuja having the largest, and Laena with the smallest.

"So what did you all think about the battle? It was quick, but it was a damn good one," Calvin said with a clear indication of waiting for a response from everyone.

Leo jumped with a fist in the air, "It was Awesome! They were like-" He started swinging his hands all over the place, like a little kid who just got his binkie taken away, "Woosh, and Pew!"

"It was interesting to say the least. I am most curious about how we will do, and who we will face," Paris tried to ignore Leo embarrassing her right next to Calvin. It was similar to a big sister forced to spend her day with her annoying little brother.

"Besides the battle today, I had something else planned as well." Calvin replied with a slight smirk, catching the attention of those dozing off. "We are going to do some combat practice between the seven of us. We will go to one of the arenas made by the Guild Headquarters, we can then use our environment to our advantages and disadvantages.

"Are those the ones where we took the entrance exams?"

"Indeed they are. As a matter of fact, most of the teachers were watching you during your exams, seeing what type of students were gifted to us this year. Turns out we have quite the cast of surprise among us."

As they finished any last thoughts left unheard and the last bites of deliciousness off their plates, they got ready to go and train with Calvin.

Arriving at the Arena, without any gimmicks and tricks, it was a simple, hollow sphere cut in half. They stood in the middle, a flat smooth surface that encompased the entire Arena. With a few swings of his hands, a mumble of letters, and confidence doing so, Calvin changed the entirety of the blank arena within the blink of an eye.

There was no more smooth, plain elegance of their surroundings, but rather what looked like a simple grass field, engulfed with an artificial sky to add the simple effect of realism in the scenario. The so called clouds even moved as if being driven by wind. It was like the feeling of a warm summer's day just presented itself in front of them. Before they could soak in all the flavors of the view, Calvin was very excited to explain what he had hidden away.

"Alright. Now that we are finally here, this will be our new spot where we meet as far as combat and Guild discussions go." Looking a little to the side, he said, "You guys barging into my office is getting a little too loud for the other teachers." Calvin took in a deep breath before continuing, "Regardless of that, today, we will all witness what Endless Sun has in stock for combat."

Expecting everyone to jump with excitement, he was disappointed quickly when in response only a few smiles and no changes of expression followed his statement.

Either way, Calvin proceeded to describe how they will split up into pairs of two, with one person being with him due to the odd number. They will try to attack each other in a friendly manner with Calvin stopping the fight if needed while everyone else watches, comments, and critiques on what they could improve on and other feedback they might want to bestow upon the two in the spotlight.

Calvin assigned the teams based on randomness with a little of his own personal touch, given the outcomes of previous rivalries and humor he witnessed in the time he has known these students.

"The teams shall be as follows, Paris and Rina. Leo and Cartuja. Me and Atlas. And I have a different plan for Faibel and Laena."

They all agreed, looking at their rivals with friendly smirks of victory, except for Faibel and Laena on the sidelines awaiting this so called plan. Up first was Paris and Rina, already standing in the middle facing each other as if they were in a duel to the death. With both of them ready, Calvin began to explain the rules.

"The rules are quite simple, think of the same ones from the guild battle, but not to an extreme. The goal here is to attack offensively while also being able to block, dodge or evade attacks from your opponent. I will stop the match manually if it gets too out of hand."

"Begin!"

As soon as those words left his mouth, Paris bolted straight towards Rina with her sword by her side. Rina, expecting Paris to quickly act was no secret, quickly releasing a small portion of water she contained within the compartment of her clothes for emergencies, making it expand to immensely greater size within seconds.

She swung her hands from above her towards the direction Paris was running, forcing the enormous concentration of water to hit her directly. To much surprise, it had no effect in terms of actual damage except causing Paris's clothes to become wet and bear more weight to carry while running. A small price to pay for an attack with an anguished intention. Rina was unable to control her forms of water to an extent that could actually cause wounds.

After regaining her vision from the cold splash, Paris moved quick, even faster than before. Without enough time for Rina to gather a mass of liquid for another attack, Paris was right at her feet. Too slow to dodge, Paris whiplashed her sealed sword in trajectory with Rina's face.

Mere inches away from her precious cheek the sword stopped, not by air, but with two fingers which belonged to Calvin, smiling, "Nice job, if I didn't stop it, you would've broken her cheek bones, and yours in the process as well." Paris backed up, thanking him for the comment, which had Rina in the shadows, about to explode of anger and embarrassment.

"Can we go… One. More. Time.!?" Rina claimed while trying her best to keep herself under control, which wasn't working too well.

"Of course! That's why we're here." Calvin laughed.

"Why? Want to get shown up again sweet cheeks?" Paris said with a smile of fame and glory, the one you see from a queen, looking down at her people in reign.

Rina had no response, all she could do was stare at her opponent, ready to show her some true aggression and smite.

They reset, back at their original positions, ready to take each other on. On the sidelines, where the rest were standing, Faibel noticed something crucial that Calvin already felt at the start of round two.

Faibel looked at Calvin and the rest, "Rina is going to win this time. Her energy is skyrocketing as compared to the previous round, it's almost on par with yours, considering you're as relaxed as ever."

Calvin replied with a slight chuckle, "I had a feeling you would be the one who noticed, I think this round will be completely one sided as well. Rina might actually be able to-"

He was interrupted with the two girls beginning to fight. Not by any means of loudness or screams, but by Rina's energy on the field. Paris was off with the same attack in mind, thinking a splash of water would be her opponent once more. However, her thoughts quickly came short with a different response from Rina.

She wasn't even moving, Rina was standing still, face occupied with nothingness, despair, and terror. Her blue eye began to glow brighter than a clear sky on a sunny day.

Faibel looked at Calvin with actual emotion on his face, "Are you going to stop this?! This isn't looking too good."

"I would... But this is what real magic is my friend." Calvin replied, holding Faibel back from interfering into the duel.

A black corruption quickly immersed into Rina's black eye from thin air, leaving no trace of entrance from its formation. As Paris approached closer and closer, her face was beginning to be erased with confidence, and painted with fear.

Rina wasn't aware, but at that moment, she had no control of herself. Her body was moving on its own, eyes glowing bright, and arms slowly rising up from the sides. Water was no longer being used from the engravement of her clothes, but rather from the air they were breathing in the arena.

Rina was slowly binding Oxygen and Hydrogen molecules together from the air around them, causing small bubbles of deathly water to form through the entire radius of the arena.

However, Rina was still in her own body, she wasn't planning to do any harm. With the overflowing energy throughout herself, something clicked into her head, a small, yet deadly phrase.

Paris was no longer running towards her opponent, she was frozen in shock, and more terrified than ever. Rina proceeded to stop her hands parallel with the ground, releasing one word from her mouth, "Erupt."

Spontaneously, the water all around the arena bursted in different directions, as soon as one managed to hit Paris, Calvin screamed, "Nullify!" Completely erasing every trace of water in the arena, and causing Rina to fall back to her normal self.

The water wasn't normal, something caused it to become life threatening at that moment. They weren't regular formations of water, as soon as they burst, it was as if they were mines, planted to completely eliminate their intruders.

Paris was struck by an eruption on her left hand, bleeding severely, without screaming in pain. Although the blood escaping her body was quite critical, she was keeping herself under control, only showing minor signs of a critical injury. Calvin quickly rushed over to her with the marks on his neck glowing, still being covered by his jacket as much as possible.

Rina stumbled onto her knees, her magic energy depleted to the b.a.r.e minimum, breathing heavy and unable to move any more.

Calvin quickly created a glowing, prismatic sphere in his hand, yelling into it as fast as he could, "Medics to Arena 1! Medics to Arena 1!"

Paris responded quite calmly given the situation, "I'm fine, I don't think we need Medics in this situation. It's-ugh just a scratch." She said while removing her hand from covering the wound, revealing a large laceration with a partly visible bone tendon.

The others quickly rushed over, with Cartuja to make another witty remark,

"Yo your bone is straight up like, right there. Might wanna get that checked out.."

It seemed odd that Paris wasn't showing signs of how serious her injury was, but on the inside, she was deeming in pain, ready to explode in a facade of screams.

Out of nowhere, two women appeared out of the middle of the arena, dressed in all white from head to toe. Calvin explained what had happened as quickly as he could, only to be silenced and made to cover the other students from getting any closer. One of the women rushed towards Rina, who was motionless on her knees, trying to calm her down and reassure her of her surroundings.

The other woman directed for Paris to sit down, hovering both of her hands over the wound to emit a green light that slowly replenished the lost blood and skin that was blown away by Rina's attack.

With Paris back on her feet, and Rina back to herself, the Medics left the scene, finishing their task in a proper manner.

Rina stumbled over to the rest of the group, with only an apology ready to be announced, "I.. I don't know what happened.. I'm. Sorry-" Before she could say anything more, a hand was placed on hers, interrupting her apology, "Stop. No need to apologize. That was pretty cool, I can't lie. Next time though, Don't expect me to hold back either." Paris smiled, waiting for the same response, which Rina happily gave, with a tear blended in with her blue eye.

"Paris. Please explain to our guild what your magic is. I know you already told me, but I believe they deserve some explanation."

"Right! Sorry. My magic works as a cause and effect. Anything I harm that is a living being, makes me endure similar pain. I can almost call it a curse rather than magic."

All heads were now pointed at her with shock, but more surprised in how unique her abilities can be.

"However, I noticed that with this sword, even though it is still sealed, when I try to attack a living being It has no effect on me at all. I have yet to figure out how to open it, but I'm sure it has some sort of meaning behind it."

Laena was the most surprised of all, eager to ask the question on everyone's mind, "But how did you not feel the pain from Rina's attack?"

"I did. It hurt like hell," a few laughs from everyone quickly spread as she continued, "But after you spend your whole life dealing with pain, you sort of get used to not showing it."

Silence now filled the Arena, quickly broken by Calvin's remark, "Do not think of this as a curse. I am sure when you discover the possibilities hidden within the sword, only adventure and spirit will be filled within you." He paused, looking at Rina. "As for you young lady, you seemed to be the first one to discover your potential among us. You cast a spell with power derived from your heart, which is a sign of true power, only to be discovered by the magic wielder as an outcome of great emotion or tragedy. Congratulations, I have never in my life seen someone discover such immense potential in the first month of learning about spells from emotions alone." Calvin winked at Atlas, making sure he remembered what happened in his class last week.

Rina was just as shocked as he was, with no idea what to do next, "What does that mean? Do I graduate or something similar to that?"

Calvin bursted out laughing, apologizing right after for such a childish response, "Oh, god no. You have learned how to use your magic without the assistance of equipment or an element similar to your magic. Now is just a matter of learning to control, harness, and expand upon your discoveries. You still have a long way to go."

With a few more questions and answers they began to huddle back to their original places, with Leo and Cartuja up next on the fighting board.

Once again, the match began as Clavin announced the magic word for the duel, "Begin!"
