54 – Hammer and Anvil (7)

Around the time Major Peter Yeager was fighting fiercely near the enemy base.

Michael von Reich, Crown Prince of the Reich Empire, was commanding an army of 32,000 with the help of his second-in-command, Count Benner.

In a way, he could look like a vicious business owner who left everything to his subordinates and only took credit for it, but no one disputed the prince’s decision.

This is because, no matter how much the crown prince is the highest person in the imperial family and has acquired military and administrative knowledge at the level of an academy student since childhood.

There is a very high possibility of making an irreversible mistake if you try to lead yourself, even though you have no experience directly participating in or leading the field.

This is because it was clearly seen that the commander-in-chief’s role was to properly select the best operation among the many operations devised by the staff, which could be said to be the most important, and that he was reaping the results accordingly.

“I report it, when we changed our stance and attacked in reverse, Colonel Alexei Derenkov, commander of the 9th Czech Republic Regiment, was shot and killed by a stray bullet!”

“The Czech Republic 12th Regiment is retreating, unable to withstand our attack!”

“The 1st Division of the Czech Republic Guard has undergone reorganization due to considerable damage!”

Even commanders who have studied at the academy, made honorable careers and come out of the staff academy often lose or reap poor results in wars of this magnitude.

Although limited to operational choices, choosing and deploying the right military operations to drive the enemy out with relatively little damage is not something any commander can do.

That’s why everyone didn’t say anything because the war was still in full swing, but he started to have confidence that the current crown prince would become a great emperor in the future.

“Count Venner, shouldn’t we send troops to support Franz’s division, which acts as a hammer on the flanks?”

“There is truth in His Highness the Crown Prince’s words, but in times like these, no news is good news. But it would be good to send a messenger to check. Lieutenant Phillip, get out of here right now!”

At that, a lieutenant named Philip quickly ran out with three knights under his command.

At the same time, Count Benner signaled to the prince, and Michael immediately pointed the baton straight ahead and said,

“Hurry up the soldiers. We must attack more vigorously. Drive like a storm without a break. We have to drive them crazy!”

Shortly thereafter, the adjutants and aides delivered simple orders in a little more detail.

“All troops, speed up and annihilate the enemy in front. Victory is with us.”

“Enemy troops are like ragtags. Do not be afraid, go forward.”

“The 4th division is late! It is an order from His Highness the Crown Prince, speed up.”

When the crown prince and the count gazed at that scene with satisfaction in their hearts and were convinced that they had won.

Four cavalrymen hurriedly rode on horseback to the front of the headquarters and reported.

“This is Lieutenant Timo from the Jaeger Battalion.”

No matter how much Major Yeager was favored by the Crown Prince, the headquarters including Count Benner did not like it when a Major directly contacted the Headquarters to which the Crown Prince belonged.

Because in this case it is usually an overstepping of the reporting system or the unfortunate news that the battalion was annihilated in the midst of an attack. because it’s either one.

“Report.”

“The Jaeger Battalion is currently attempting to break through the last line of defense right in front of the enemy base.”

As soon as they heard that, the staff members started cheering.

“Damn I won!”

“Victory is right around the corner! nice Coming home soon!”

Because as long as the main unit to which they belong is holding the rest of the enemy’s troops, if they go to the defense right in front of the enemy’s main camp, there are no more soldiers that Czechia can mobilize.

It was news that meant that victory was not far away, but the face of the officer who came as a messenger was still serious.

“Considering that the enemy regimental commander in charge of the final defense was not desperate in the eyes of the battalion commander, he told me that the commander-in-chief of the enemy forces is expected to flee to the Visochian castle.”

Hearing those words, the prince threw the baton in front of the messenger and said,

“Dirty and despicable child! A human called the commander-in-chief is trying to escape! Count Benner, do you think Major Jaeger’s report is valid?”

The Count sighed and said,

“No matter how well we encircle the enemy, 30-40% of the enemy’s troops will move to Visochia Castle under the commander’s control. If the Commander-in-Chief abandons his honor and conducts a defensive war at Vysochia Castle, in the worst case, even if we achieve a tactical victory in Vysochia, we may not be able to achieve our strategic goal of occupying Vysochia.”

And just in time, when the division commander of Major Yeager’s division sent a messenger with similar content, the prince angrily ordered.

“Release the spare cavalry to prevent the enemy headquarters from fleeing!”

The prince, who gave the order in such anger, sat back down in his chair and thought as he wiped his shocked chest.

‘I thought it was useful, so I selected it, and I never thought it would work for me this far. Major Jaeger, you must be mine no matter what. I will make it like that.’

**

“Captain Jaeger! The Otto Battalion signaled with their flags! He said he would join the fight!”

“The Burg Battalion is attacking the right flank of the enemy regiment without asking for forgiveness!”

“The Red Army regiment is slowly losing momentum. I think we will break through soon.”

All of a sudden, a lot of information came flying in at random and it was very confusing, but to sum it up, this is the current situation.

I somehow took advantage of the melee situation to push the enemy’s units, which outnumbered us, and cut down almost all of them.

Suddenly, two idiots blinded by their specialty are chasing after them with their mouths open, asking for a bite to share.

Normally, I’d be in a state of madness, but now I have no time to worry about the bugs rushing to eat at the banquet table set by others.

“Send a signal to both battalions. We’re going to hand over the Czech Republic unit we’re dealing with, so share your major. Our unit breaks through and goes to the enemy base!”

Here at the moment, ‘I only capture the commander-in-chief’s flag that the enemy would have left behind.’ I almost added that, but for the soldiers fighting to the death on the front lines, if the fact that the commander-in-chief stood out, it would come as a very shocking fact.

So, I’ll let you know when the fight is sorted out.

I’ve requested a horse from Lieutenant Laura just in case, so we can ride it as soon as it arrives and go hunting the high-ranking people of the enemy army.

Of course, since the charter is at a disadvantage for me too, I don’t understand why the commander-in-chief runs away without any sense of responsibility. What can I do?

That’s the strategy that the cowardly child chose to save his life by eating his conscience in a bowl of milk from a young age, learning only how to make the enemy angry from his mother and father, and being robbed in battle due to his lack of skills.

Also, analyzing the battle situation, it was not that the commander-in-chief was competent and ran away after noticing signs of defeat.

It seems that he just ran away to protect his life somehow.

But it was strategically the best choice.

“Czech Republic Commander-in-Chief, you bastard, give me your head!”

After shouting so loudly, our unit broke through the regiment led by Colonel Czechia and finally entered the enemy camp.

Flags symbolizing the commander of the Czech Republic’s garrison, various military flags, desks, chairs, weapons, etc. were scattered in a mess.

The officers and soldiers of our unit looked at it with a dejected expression.

“f*ck, f*ck! Why isn’t the commander-in-chief here?”

“Where did the Holo child without mother and father run away?”

“No… f*ck, I can’t do this.”

I had already predicted this possibility, so I ordered in a calm voice.

“Great attention! It is said that the damn commander-in-chief jumped out, but it was our battalion that first occupied the enemy headquarters. Retrieve the commander-in-chief’s flag and the flags of each division and return to the headquarters where the division commander is.”

So when I gave the order, Laura appeared on horseback with 30 soldiers.

“Lieutenant Laura von Wenner, I have brought 30 horses as ordered.”

Considering that if I had been a little later here, I would have lost the time to pursue the enemy that much, and if I brought it sooner, it would have been more sh*t because the words were mixed up in the middle of the hassle.

Laura must have arrived here with her horse at the best time after checking the situation around her.

“Good work, Lieutenant! Alright, I’ll pass on a new order from now on. Among the platoon commanders and soldiers of the 12th knight company resting in the back, those who are confident in riding horses, come out now. I’m going to get the heads of the enemy’s defeated soldiers and the son of the commander-in-chief who are scattered and running away.”

After ordering that, the 1st company commander Marco asked.

“Then what about the rest?”

“Each platoon is commanded by the deputy platoon commander, and you command our battalion and return to the division commander’s place. After that, make your own decisions and follow the division commander’s instructions or take a break.”

Then I climbed on Laura’s horse and gave the order.

“I am going to make all the cowardly fugitives leave this world. Everyone, borrow a one-handed sword or mace from your friends.”
