87 – Northern Occupation War (5)

A battle in which iron-clad knights stabbed like wedges and inflicted great wounds on the enemy lines, followed by infantry tearing through the gaps.

It’s a very simple attack method, but it was the most used combat method in both the East and the West until guns and gunpowder weapons appeared.

It was a tactic that was very effective in winning the war.

It’s just that I didn’t use this tactic because the size and deployment of the troops I had commanded didn’t suit me.

I really wanted to try it once.

“I’m very lucky to be able to plan and directly lead an operation that incorporates standard tactics and surprise attacks to defeat the barbarians.”

I really think so.

Because I can kill the evil barbarians cleanly with tactics I’ve devised.

In other wars, there are times when you feel bad after killing soldiers, but barbarians, who are vicious criminals, have achieved justice as long as they do not go beyond the limit and torture and kill them brutally.

With that thought in mind, he and the knights passed right near the formation of the allies and charged into the place where the barbarians were.

“The 4th division, the 4th division came out to support us!”

“They are done now! Let’s push!”

“Long live the Reich Empire! Long live His Majesty the Emperor! Long live the reinforcements!”

While the archers belonging to Ludwik’s base keep firing arrows at them, it’s for the foot soldiers who have just started fighting in hand-to-hand combat.

It would be a very thrilling sight to see a large unit holding a flag symbolizing the 4th Division appear and rush to attack the enemy.

Because, in a situation where until recently we were overrun by enemy infantry who avoided hand-to-hand combat, the appearance of our reinforcements will change the flow of battle to completely push the enemy who could not escape.

“The 4th Division, which fell as a reserve unit, came to support us! Command already thinks we’ve won!”

“This is a battle we have already won! Cheer up a little!”

“Kill the barbarians! Don’t lose to the guys from the 4th Division!”

Those shouting like that must be high-ranking officers, majors and above.

And they must be thinking this way.

‘f*ck, no matter how good you think about it, until now, we were at the level of fighting on equal footing with the army led by Ludvik. They couldn’t afford to come out, so how did the reinforcements come?’

‘During the strategy meeting, I hadn’t heard of a sudden arrival of division-sized reinforcements in a confrontation like this.’

However, with the time and ability to overcome the tough promotion competition of the imperial army and rise to that position, they would have judged that the appearance of reinforcements would be to their advantage, not to their detriment.

I don’t know what the result was, but I guess it’s just cheering for me.

And then, after the war, what if we found out that our regiment got permission to operate in advance from Count Benner and pretended to be a division and shut up and charged?

You will surely be very surprised.

“An arrow! They are shooting arrows at us from all sides!”

“Hold your head and look at the ground! If you don’t want to get lost, grab the spear and run!”

“Give up all the strength you were sucking on and run! Just run into it!”

The arrows started flying, so the distance between us and them must be around 100 to 200 meters.

That said, it was soon the turn of the knights to ram them with their heavy bodies and lances.

After running for about two minutes, the arrows flying from the front completely stopped.

So when I raised my eyes, there were about 100 knights making the enemy camp a very messy field.

“Are you a knight? f*ck!”

“help me! I’ve always hated dying. I want to live overwhelmingly now.”

“My arm is missing. Am I going to die now?”

Looking ahead, the knights formed a wedge formation, turning Ludvik’s insignificant foot soldiers into minced meat or human skewers with lances.

As a result, human blood, flesh, and severed limbs began to fly freely around the battlefield.

It started to smell strongly of rusty iron and fishy blood.

After a cavalry charge, our knights, who succeeded in attacking the enemy by pouring an onslaught, quickly pulled out their horseback riding sticks and swung them out, so as not to hinder the foot soldiers following behind them.

Even from a distance, at least one, and sometimes two or three, unfortunate deaths occurred one after another whenever the pyeongon was swung.

“The knights slip through the gap between the infantry units following behind!”

“Leave the rest to the division commander and the infantry, and get out of the way!”

Without being stopped by the enemy, the knights comfortably fell into the rear, crushing the enemy’s head and bones with their cavalry helmets.

As a result, the enemy infantry were thrown into a state of great confusion.

“help me! help me! I don’t want to die yet!!”

“Calm down and hold the spear! Damn, if you don’t want to die, hold the spear, stand up, and go forward!”

“Damn it, it’s obvious that you’ll die if you hold a spear in front of you…”

In this situation, the guys who looked like the officers of the enemy army drew their swords and somehow put the unit into a state where they could fight again.

Randomly chopping to death those foolish bastards who tried to run away or couldn’t get back to their place quickly and grab a spear or a pitchfork and point it at us.

We made every effort to rebuild our army, but the distance between us, the devastated enemy and our supporting infantry was only about 50 meters.

That meant that I would run into them in about 10 seconds.

Just in time, the covering fire of wizards and crossbowmen who had come together to support the infantry wielding melee weapons, who were engaged in hand-to-hand combat with spears and swords, began.

As hundreds of arrows and magic flew away, the enemy’s left wing, which was on the verge of collapsing, collapsed.

“Okay, 1st Battalion! Grab your weapon and run into it!”

“Long live the division commander! Long live the Reich Empire! Long live Deus!”

“Don’t be afraid! Because the frightened bastard dies first!”

We ran towards the enemies like that, and I too grabbed the spear used by the soldiers and sprinted toward the enemy in front of me.

Then, aiming his gaze at the enemy soldier’s neck, he stretched out his spear and pierced the unfortunate barbarian.

“….. A monster, a monster has appeared. We are all dead!”

“Fix the troops! Calm down, go back to your seats and grab the spear!”

“You bastards who can’t even get dirty! keep your mind straight If we lose here, we will all die!”

However, even the officers and captains of those guys who said that were so energetic that they went to the other world at the hands of our soldiers and officers who charged.

Some enemy soldiers who saw it shouted in a loud voice.

“There seem to be 10,000 enemies! It is a large army. we are all dead Aagh!”

“Ludvik, Ludvik, please send reinforcements!”

“Sal, save me! I will do anything you ask!”

Even if they cried out like that, no one, including me, would show mercy to the son of a bitch who committed all sorts of heinous crimes against the pagans.

Then, everyone, including me, took advantage of this momentum and started rampaging like Asuras to kill even one more guy.

Also, like Laura did in the past, I drew the sword directly with the colonel’s body and stood in the lead and said.

“The division commander will personally take the lead! If you go back and kill fewer soldiers or officers than the number of barbarians I’ve killed, I’ll put them on guard at the banquet! Destroy it with the determination to die!”

I wouldn’t do it unless I was in a crisis at some point.

Thousands, no, because they mistake us for about 8,000 people.

From what they see, we have about 8,000 soldiers charging with great momentum.

In such a situation where the enemies are frightened and unable to prepare their posture, even in the vanguard of the breakthrough side, it is not easy to die.

People’s survival instinct makes it difficult to point a sword at someone who is approaching with terrifying momentum unless you are a brave person.

If it was easy, why would I train infantrymen to die?

With that thought in mind, as if I were doing what I was supposed to do, I would move forward while decapitating or stabbing the heart of the enemy that appeared in front of me naturally.

“Protect the division commander! We must protect the division commander.”

“The division commander is at the forefront! Spare no life!”

“Split it straight! Kill one with each swing!”

Thanks to the sky-high morale of the commanders and soldiers, we entered quite a bit deep into the enemy camp in a short amount of time.

If I had fought in Visochia before, I would have gone a little further in to catch the enemy commander-in-chief.

In a situation where you don’t even know where the enemy’s commander-in-chief is, when you shut up and go inside, they reorganize their posture.

You might die from being surrounded by the barbarians’ infantry, so you’ll have to pull it back once in a while.

“Looks like Ludvik the coward ran away because he was afraid of us! So we’ll leave that coward to stay hidden and step back for now!”

After saying that, we pierced the enemy’s gaps at the right time and inflicted maximum damage, breaking out of the barbarians who were confused on the way back as we entered and escaped.

When I looked around while thinking about how to move next, I wondered if our shut-up tactic was very effective.

Ludvik’s army was seen to be completely outnumbered by our northern forces.

So, in effect, we had a chance to win, and the ‘shut up and assault’ that my unit and I came forward with succeeded in changing the game of this war, so it’s like making a huge contribution.

It was a war that had been prepared for several years, but it could not end at this point.

“All troops, return to the original unit. Then we look for the next opportunity.”
