The sun goes down, the moon then show up. Usual things that happened everyday. But this night. Specifically this night, something unusual happened. Something really unusual that enable to change the usual day. The day when the MC arrive.

In a wooden bar.....

It's just the same as usual. Drunk people yelling and having fun. Nothing's new. The bar was kinda run down. It only has few wooden tables and a wooden bar counter and an old man as a bartender.

"*Hik* You know yesterday. *Hik* I killed 11 werewolves alone In th-*Hik*" mountains!!" a drunk guy said as he drank a booze.

"*Hik* Well I killed 57 slimes the other day *Hik* and I've made a lot of money *Hik*" another drunk guy said to the other drunk guy. They continued with their talks when the door of the bar opened. Everbody then looked at who came in and they saw a man covered in brown hood with very exquisite designs in it and a half mask covering his mouth. He then walk closer to the counter while everyone look at the man.

"Who the hell wear those?" A guy said. Obviously not a drunk one.

He heard couple more gossips but didn't bother with it and sat down in the chair infront of the counter.

"Welcome sir. What can I get for ya?" The bartender asked.

"Any kind of alcohol" The hood man said in a very low deep voice.

"Ahmmm.. Cheap or Expensive sir?" The bartender asked.

"Any... Just give me a drink" He then again said.

"Okay sir.. Coming right up" The bartender said. As he took one bottle from the shelf and start doing his stuffs. The hooded guy just sat their waiting for it not actually moving. After shortly

"Here sir" The bartender said as he place a wooden mug. The hooded man didn't answer and just started drinking after taking his half mask off.

"So sir. I can tell that you're not from here. What made you come in this City?" The bartender asked.

The hooded man finished the liquor and place it mug in the counter and then worn his half mask again "Just finding someone" He said.

"Hmmm.. Who might it be sir?" The bartender asked. The hooded man didn't answer and pointed at one of the wall of the bar. The wall was filled with papers sticked in them. And in this very papers are faces of wanted person with bounties.

"Ohh so you're a Bounty Hunter" The bartender said.

The hooded man looked at the bartender with a death piercing eyes. "Don't ever call me that" He just said scaring the bartender.

"O-Okay Sir" The bartender said as he became silent not even trying to ask another question.

The door of the bar opened again. A girl with a weird looking blade in one of her hand then came and wearing a full black armor.

"Hey who is that girl?" A drunk guy said not acting like his drunk anymore.

"I don't know. She's pretty hot though" Another drunk guy said.

The girl then walk in the middle of the bar and started introducing herself.

"Good evening everyone. My name is Mortred, Or you people can call me the Phantom Assassin" She said as she stood their with her blades.

"W-W-Welcome Ma'am. P-P-Please have a seat" the scared bartender said.

"Thanks for the invite but I have to decline. I am not here for that." The assassin said.

"T-Then why are you here then ma'am?" The bartender asked.

"I'm here for him" She said as she pointed to the hooded man.

"10 Billion Gold bounty. Karl, The Invoker. " Mortred said as she still in the middle of the bar standing.

The hooded man then turn around and quickly look at the said assassin with a death piercing eye.

"ohoo...Someone is after my Head? That's amusing" The hooded man who is known as Karl said.

She shook her head "No not really. I'm not after your head." The assassin said as he took a stance.

Confused. "Then why are you after me?" Karl asked.

"Obviously to kill you." She blatantly said.

" Hahaha it's basically just the same" Karl laughed.

" But I'm not here for the money. I'm here because the nature told me so while I'm meditating" She said.

" Ohh you're one of the Veil Sisters. Ohh okay I get it now." Karl just said.

"Well at least you understa-"

"You won't be able to kill me" Karl interupted her.

" How can you say? We Veil sisters never missed a single target" She said.

Karl just look at her. "You don't have the power. At least in that form" He said.

Mortred look at him more seriously. "You seem to know a lot. Maybe that's the reason the nature ordered me to kill you" She said. Karl didn't answer and just look at her.

"Well doesn't matter though. Since you're my target, you shall die here" The assassin said as she charged towards Karl who is still sitting on the chair looking at him.

"Not moving huh? Then don't regret it" She said as her body became blurry. Very blurry that even people can't see her now. She was now totally invisible.

The hooded man then take off his hood and half mask off and there they saw maybe the most handsome human being in the whole world.

He sighed... "Everywhere I go.. There is just people who just doesn't know that number speaks for itself" He said as he stood from the chair.

Mortred on the other hand was like...

'H-Handsome.... Tsk what Am I thinking? He's my target. Focus. Focus...' The assassin thought as she appeared just shortly beside Karl with her invisibility now gone and then launch a slash to Karl's left abdomen.

"Die!!!" She yelled with as she took a strike and hit Karl. But she she became surprised when she saw that Karl was gone but instead he hit something squishy.

"W-What?" The assassin said in confusion.

He then heard a voice at his right and saw Karl and his handsomeness and 2 red and 1 blue orbs spinning around him.

"Ohh man I really love seeing peoples reaction" Karl said as he smiled.

'Tsk. He dodged it' The assassin said. She then do a summersault away from Karl and throwed a daggers at him. Karl just dodge all of it.

'He fell for it' she thought as she then covered in leaves and after the leaves disappeared, so does she and instead appeared behind Karl.

"You're dead!!" She yelled at him. But she was surprised. Karl just look around and took a glance at her just to give her smile.

'W-What?' She thought. That almost throwed her out of focus 'Focus!! FOCUS!!' She didn't got more distracted and continued slashing her blade towards Karl's back and hit another squishy thing. Seeing that her attack failed, she summersaulted away again.

'Tsk' she let out.

Now she had a better look at the squishy thing, It was kinda red and yellow. Just like a lava monster.

'So that's why it's squishy?' She thought.

Then after just shortly she yelled in her mind after realizing something

'LAVA!!' she look at her blades and saw it was melted. 'Tsk' She then throw daggers again toward Karl. While Karl was distracted, she took a small colored purple blade.

She then turn invisible, but this time it lasted longer not the same from before.

'If hitting behind won't work. Then I'll just attack you head on.' She charge just right infront of Karl obviously still invisible. As she charged, she saw Karl just smiled toward him looking directly in her eyes. That caught her off guard, making her stop from charging.

'Does he see me? Nononono that's impossible' She thought. She started walking a little bit to the right and Karl look at exactly where she is. After for a bit, the invisibility disappeared leaving the shock maiden.

"Y-You can see me? How?" She asked.

Karl smiled. " Simple. With this" he said as he took something in his pocket. It was a small green gem, shining beautifully.

"T-Thats..... THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE!!! WHY DO YOU HAVE GEM OF TRUE SIGHT?!?!" she asked asked in surprised expression.

He smiled again "Let's just say... My very close friend gave it to me" He said as he put the gem back to his pocket.

"Now what should I do with you?" Karl asked to her smiling.

'Tsk... I should retreat for now' She thought and throws some daggers to the handsome man. Karl gracefully dodge all of it but that is enough time for Mortred to flee.

"Retreating huh? Nice decision. But nobody can run from me" He said as he raised his hand in the air.

The orbs then changed colors. The two red became blue and the blue became violet

The temperature then drops and the costumers of the bar can feel the coldness after Karl chanted that. While this was happening, electricity then engulfed Karl. After just shortly, the electricity disappeared, and so does Karl. The customer of the bar then looked at each other, really don't know how to react.

In a forest...

Mortred was hiding from one of the trees. She was panting heavily from all of the running and took a rest as she thought she is safe.

"Haaa.. Haaa" Panting. "That Karl guy is no joke. He had the one and only Gem of True Sight in the world." He said. " How am I suppose to fight him when he can see me?" She said.

'He said his friend gave it to him. But the one who had the Gem of True Sight for centuries now is.... " she thought in horror.

" He's friend is The G-" Her rest was stopped when she felt coldness in her entire body. Not just outside but also the very bones, inside of her body. It's like, her body heat is gone. All it left was coldness. The assassin laid on the ground, as the coldness got the best out of her.

She then heard a familiar voice in her back and when she look at it, it was Karl and his 3 blue orbs.

"W-W-What d-d-did you do t-to me??" Mortred stuttered as she felt like she's dead right now.

"Well... I took every single heat in your body." Karl said.

Mortred just laid down there for a bit and let out a chuckle.

Karl was confused. "What's wrong?" he asked.

She chuckled again. "Men I really picked the wrong target this time" she said with a smile.

Karl just smiled at him. "Told you. Number speaks"

"hahhaha y-yeah." She said in a really weak voice.

" You're not using it?" Karl asked.

"The wh-? ohhh yeah nope I won't. It's not like I can use it in the first place anyways.

"Figures. If you can use it, you wouldn't have to run." Karl said to her.

"Ha ha ha ha." she laughed almost sarcastically. ' Man it's cold' She just thought.

'Well doesn't matter. It'll be over now' she thought as she expected that Karl would kill her so she just closed her eyes and wait for her death..... that didn't came. While thinking, she felt the coldness inside her slowly disappeared. She immediately opened her eyes saw Karl standing looking at the stars.

"Don't worry I won't kill you" Karl said.

"H-Huh?!?" The assassin was confused.

" I said I won't kill you" Karl said again.

"But why?" she asked in confusion.

Karl then took a glance at her. "You're so beautiful to die. Atleast not now. Live a longer life. " Karl said to her as he look at the stars.

The assassin just sit there looking at the handsome man..... blushing madly.

'SNAP OUT OF IT!! YOU'RE A A.S.SA.S.SIN!! YOU'RE NOT SUITED FOR LOVE!!' She said loudly to herself.

" Well anyways. I had to go" Karl said as he walk away.

"W-Wait!" She yelled at him.

Karl turned around. "What?"

"W-Where are you going?" she said still blushing. Karl didn't seem to notice it though.

"Anywhere would my feet take me to" He just said to her and smiled.

She's blushing even harder right now seeing him smile handsomely like that.

"B-But.... As long as I can't kill you. I can't go home. This is my current contract and I can't change it without finishing it." She said to Karl.

He sighed. "I told you. You can't kill me"

" T-Then take me with you!! I'll train till I can kill you" She said.

Karl just stood their for a while then laughed really hard.

"You want to go with your target?" He asked her still laughing.

" Y-Yes!! First of all, I can always be with you so I don't need to find you anymore when I'm ready. 2nd, I-I can't go home. 3rd..... I'm still gonna think of it." She said.

Karl look at her for a bit and saw that she's serious.

"Sure you can come. I would love to have a beautiful woman to accompany during my journey." He said to her.

She blushed again. 'Beautiful' she thought of this words.

Karl just look at her and even more saw how beautiful she is even with a heavy armor.

"You seem tired. Let's rest for now. Well go tommorow" Karl said as he sit leaning to a tree and closed his eyes.

'Just like that? He's letting his guard down? I can totally kill him now with my shadow blade' She thought.

"Have a nice rest. We will be walking for so long tommorow. okay?" Karl said still had his eyes closed.

'H-He's so handsome!! W-What am I thinking? he's my target!! Just a target nothing more nothing less' The confused tsundere thought. Seeing him sleeping like that, Mortred didn't disturb him and take a rest too. And that's the beginning of the story of Karl, The Invoker and Her wif- I mean partner Mortred, The phantom assassin.
