YUMHEE'S HOLDING CELL. JULY 1944.

After months of experimentation, they finally stopped when Yumhee reached her last trimester. If there's anything she's grateful from that extremely painful experience, it's that she was able to regain all her senses again. But that's not all she was able to attain from those horrendous experiments.

But right now, that's least of her problems. Her water just broke hours ago and is now ready to deliver her baby. Dr. Erskine is standing beside her and holding her left hand tightly.

"You can do this Yumhee." Dr. Erskine encourages her, trying hard to comfort her daughter and filling the role that was supposed to be for Steve.

After what seemed like almost half a day, Yumhee was able to deliver the baby without complications. Yumhee closed her eyes, totally exhausted while Dr. Erskine walked to the baby. After confirming that the baby is healthy despite what they both suffered for four months, Dr. Erskine walked back to his daughter who's waiting weakly on the bed to see her baby.

"It's a healthy baby boy Yumhee." Dr. Erskine handed the baby to her gently as he sits on the side of the bed. "Have you decided on a name?" He gently asked her daughter.

"I actually wanted for Steve to name him." Yumhee couldn't stop the tears from falling, wishing Steve had been there to witness the birth of their child. After calming herself she whispered "Stephan...from Steven and Abraham."

"It's a wonderful name." Dr. Erskine kissed both Yumhee's and Stephan's foreheads.

The small family of three lived peacefully for a week. After that, Stephan was brought to a different cell with an around the clock nurse. Hydra didn't start experimenting on him immediately, deciding to let him grow for a year before doing anything.

But that doesn't mean that they can't analyze his body. Blood, tissue and everything that they can get from the baby without doing any permanent injury that can hinder his growth or fatal damage to him, they tested and analyzed thoroughly.

Stephan can only be with his family three times a week — for his mother to do her duties, mainly to feed the child and set aside bottles of milk for the days they don't see each other. Despite the lack of parental care, Stephan shows discipline beyond his age. The scientists also observed that he seemed to learn a lot faster than the average baby.

With such discovery, they decided to analyze his brain functions as much as they can. But it would take for the child to be able to move and talk for them to really study him. It's a long waiting period but nonetheless all of them are still very much thrilled of the many things they can discover and learn through Stephan.

Yumhee, on the other hand, is subjected to harsher experiments after the birth of her child. In the months that had gone by, she has lost count how many injections of the blue shining serum she had received. The number of faint spells she had due to fatigue, blood loss and extreme pain increased dramatically after giving birth. She doesn't know how many broken bones, burn marks and other internal and external injuries she had experienced during her stay here.

Despite the many months of experimentation, besides the incident of her body vibrating that one time and her lost senses recovering fully, nothing remarkable happened. The regeneration ability of her body did improved exponentially. But it only made the dissatisfied and disappointed scientists to experiment on her more brutally.

Though there were no successes, Yumhee still proved to be a valuable ȧsset for Hydra. Her ability to withstand such torturous experiments made her the optimal subject for these scientists.

They would wipe clean every unimportant memory Yumhee has, making sure her child grows up thinking he's an orphan. They'll make sure, where his mother failed, he would flourish. Hydra will never meet its end if they can produce powerful soldiers beyond the humans' imagination.

As for Dr. Erskine, his worth is non-existent since the birth of Stephan. His death will be soon. But of course, such opportunity will be used in a dramatic way to forcefully encourage his stepdaughter to perform ideally to their expectations.

After another day of enduring such excruciating pain that wracked her body, Yumhee was escorted to her cell. It has been way too long since she last saw her stepfather. Worry isn't enough to explain how she felt for him right now. The only thing distracting her from this situation are the times she can be with Stephan. Even for just a moment, she can relax her tense body the second she can hold him.

Just as she was thinking of her child, the door to her cell opened and in walked a nurse holding Stephan in her arms. She immediately stretched her hands to the nurse, genuinely happy to see her baby.

When the nurse went away, she cooed at Stephan as she sat at her bed with him securely in her arms. And like always, she tells stories of Steve while she feed her baby. But unfortunately, her time with Stephan was always brought to an end after an hour. .

With Stephan's absence, she falls again to the pattern of thinking anxiously about her day tomorrow, worrying about her father, waiting to see her child again and hoping for Steve or anyone to rescue them. Such thoughts brought about many sleepless nights until her body succumbed to fatigue.

As she drifted to sleep, memories of her and Steve flashes on her mind. She remembers the first time she saw him, their first kiss, their last night at the camp, the moment the capsule encasing him opened and revealed his transformed body. She remembers what it felt like when they were engulfed in a night of passion.. She yearned for him, not knowing the man she loves was already gone.
