Chapter 111 - Pillars

"Kreischen? Is that a type of grimm?" Weiss asked in response to the woman's statement.

Snorting she said, "Ha, you'll be offensive to the grimm if you talk like that. No, the Kreischen are much, much worse, brigands, bandits, assassins, mercenaries, every type of degenerate you can think of, they are them" she explained and began to warm her hands by the fire.

Weiss was left quite shocked by this statement, "You're kidding right? I thought mercenaries went out of business when the military cracked down on them a few years ago"

"Yeah sure, and I don't bleed, I blossom unicorn farts whenever I get cut" she sarcastically remarked, Weiss's cheek twitching at her crude sarcasm, "Look, as far as I can tell you're a huntress, one in training right?" she asked.

"That is correct, I'm a first year at Beacon, along with Arthur" her eyes wandered to Arthur, her gaze apologetic at dragging him into this, her mind believing their target was her and not Arthur.

"Right, then you are for all intents and purposes a mercenary, just on the good side, you do it to help people," she said.

"While the Kreischen, work on the dark side, you want someone dead, they do that, want something stolen, just ask them, need someone to disappear? They'll do it for free just so they have a new toy to f.u.c.k around with" her voice calm and filled with venom as she spoke about the types of things they do.

"And even with the new mercenary laws in place, the Kreischen still exist, tell me how, just how can an organization like that still stand even after every other one has been systematically dismantled by the military?" She asked

Weiss's mind began to think for what to answer with, whilst the woman added more twigs to the fire for both the meat and them, "They… they either have some way of hiding from the militaries scanners, or someone on the inside is keeping them hidden, but that can't be, every person in a position like that is kept under lock and key, just the danger they pose on their own makes them too valuable to let them do as they wished"

The woman pinched the bridge of her nose, "You're thinking too small, if it was just an insider, they would have been snuffed out in days, long before they could even hide or write anything to block transmitters"

"You need to look bigger, the people behind the military, investors, backers, the people with direct say in the control of the military, they are the ones who decide who and what they see" she explained, "Not some computer jockey, not a soldier, not even the general, no, the businesses that supply the weapons, the dust, the food, even the senators in the council decide for the military," she said, her voice still as calm as ever.

"How, how can you even say this, that, do you have any idea what that would mean if it were true!?" whilst Weiss's was growing more frantic at the accusation the hooded woman was saying, "How would you even know this!?"

The woman began to chuckle, "Why can't I say it? I know perfectly well just the havoc that would ensue if everyone knew that the people they look up to are responsible for the bandits that raid their villages, the murderers that flok they're streets, hell I even brought it up in my home town" she grit her teeth in anger.

"It was burnt to the ground within the week by a group of bandits, I watched my sister get picked up and dragged away whilst I watched them treat her like the public toilet, You know what happened next?" she asked.

"They stripped me n.a.k.e.d and played with my body for months, They beat me, covered me in bruises, and made me watch as they slit my sisters neck, whilst whispering in my ear, 'You should have just kept your mouth shut' before throwing me into a pit filled with grimm and watched and laughed as I clawed my way out" her voice calm, but underneath Weiss could feel her sheer anger

"That, my-my god, how, how can you be so calm!?" Weiss shouted, horror on her face as she covered her mouth.

"Because, I've gone through hell and back and lived to scream my lungs out, I hunted down those who destroyed my entire life, I tore them limb from limb while crying tears of blood, and every man and woman I killed, taught me one thing, f.u.c.k the world, I own it, whatever I say goes, I am the judge, the jury and the executioner, not them" her words turned passionate for a second before calming down.

"God… was I an idiot" she mocked herself, whilst ignoring Weiss's horror at the fact she had murdered before.

"I was arrogant and angry, god was I f.u.c.k.i.n.g angry" she chuckled, "I lost everything after I killed him, I was alone, everyone I knew and loved were dead, and I had nowhere to go" she went silent.

While Weiss had already begun to back away from her, "There's no point in running, it's safer if you stay here anyways, out there's much worse, between grimm and the Kreischen, you're better off here" she explained.

"I will not stay a minute longer near you! You-you monster!" Weiss shouted.

"Fine, have fun out there girl, i'm sure Blut will teach you a thing or two when she throws you on one of her contraptions" she said pushing herself off the ground, "You can leave him here or just f.u.c.k off, I couldn't care less" she began to walk towards the entrance of the cave, "I'll be back by sundown, f.u.c.k off by then" she looked back to Weiss, a scowl on her face still hidden by her hood as she leapt towards the wall and quickly climbed up it, leaving into the forest to do whatever she needed to do.

Weiss was left silent, she was terrified beyond belief, she was lost, trapped in a forest surrounded by grimm and a supposed mercenary group that shouldn't even exist, with a murderer and an injured friend, not to mention clothesless and without any means of defending herself.

"What do I do…?" She w.h.i.n.ed, collapsing onto the ground, her eyes watering as she finally let the entirety of her emotions out now that there was no one around to hear, her arms wrapping around her body as she began to heave.

"WhatdoIdowhatdoIdowhatdoiIdo…?" She continuously chanted, panting with each individual word, her eyes trembling as she began to sweat, even in this cold, her chanting slowly dying down into incoherent mumbles, giving her a small moment of clarity, letting her eyes wander over towards Arthur.

In her daze she found herself wandering next to him, once again falling to the ground as her trembling hands pulled his blanket off slightly until she could see his hand which she grasped in both her hands, lifting it up until she placed his palm atop her head.

Her eyes shutting as she focused on the oddly warm sensation of Arthur's hand atop her head, her breathing slowly becoming more stable as letting her mind clear up even more, "I, am fine…" she mumbled, "This is a field mission that's gone awry…" her mind began to clear even more, a fire beginning to light in her, "I cannot be Weiss Schnee the heiress…"

"I am Weiss Schnee… the huntress-in-training" taking in one deep breath and letting it out slowly, she said, "I am Weiss Schnee, huntress-in-training. I am not Weiss Schnee the heiress… I will get through this as who I am..." she repeated, her eyes slowly opening, a new determination rising inside her as the pillars that made her who she was began to crack, falling apart to reveal who she is, yet not yet crumbling to reveal the entirety of what she could become.

Her eyes locking on Arthur, "I will get us out of here," she said, returning Arthur's arm under the blanket and pulling it over him, but her hands freezing just before she released it, taking a deep breath Weiss pulled the blanket off of him, letting her take in the horrific sight of the previously white makeshift bandages having turned blood red as they soaked up his blood, her eyes trembling as she bit her lip.

"I'm sorry" she mumbled, "I never should have let you come with me", tears trickling out of her eyes which she quickly wiped away, "But I will get us out of here, I will make sure of that" she took one last glance at Arthur's back, her expression hardened as she pulled the blanket back over him.

Her head turning around slightly as she heard something fall onto the ground behind her, that being the whining body of a elk, it's side coated in blood as it tried to call for it's herd, behind it the hooded woman was standing, a knife in her hand which she threw into the air spinning it around in the air and catching the blade.

"Kill it" she ordered and held the blade out to Weiss.

Weiss's eyes widened for a moment as she turned herself around, her hand trembling as she reached out and took the blade, hesitating for a second before firmly grasping around the hilt, turning to the elk Weiss's hands begun to shake once again as she looked between the edge of the blade and the elks eyes, it's crying causing her to shiver every second it sounded out.

"Stop hesitating, you want to change" the hooded woman said, "Then change, soil those hands and break what you were, you can say all those flowery words but it means jack shit if you don't have the confidence to back it up"

Weiss's eyes shut, her breathing getting heavier as she repeated the same speech she had just said to Arthur aloud causing her mind to go calm as her eyes shot open, her expression cold and uncaring as she brought the knife to the elks neck, plunging it as deep as it could go, her hands scraping against it's coarse fur from just how close they were.

The entire weight of her body forcing down on the blade with as much force as she could mustre, her body remaining frozen atop the elks body for nearly five minutes after it passed before she released the blade and fell backwards onto her b.u.t.t, her eyes traveling to her hands which were now covered in the elks blood.

Even finer cracks appearing on the pillar she called Weiss Shnee the heiress. Her hands soon clenching shut causing the blood to trickle through her fingers and onto her l.a.p and the makeshift poncho.

"Not good enough" the woman said, "Take out that knife and gut it" she ordered.

"Steady… steady, now" the hooded woman whispered to Weiss who was holding a slingshot, a small pebble as her ammunition, one eye shut as she looked through the slingshot to a snow white hare.

Letting go of the sling, the pebble shot towards the hare, kitting it on the side of its neck, with a small squeal the hare fell onto its side, Weiss and the woman quickly running to its side, Weiss's hands grasping around its neck as she quickly snapped its neck.

Once this was done Weiss let out the breath she had held in since she aimed the slingshot at it. Turning to the woman Weiss lightly smiled, "I-I did it Celeste…" she said

"Yeah, and? You're not done, dress it" Celeste responded.

"Right" Weiss said, turning back to the rabbit in her hand hand while her other grabbed the knife on her hip, flipping the hare upside down Weiss was about to begin the first cut, but before she could she felt the ground tremble causing her to lose her footing as she dropped the rabbit to steady herself in the snow.

"F.u.c.k, we need to go, now!" Celeste shouted grabbing Weiss's arm and began to run towards their cave where Arthur was still lying uncious even after two days had passed.

Yet before they could get far a burst of orange light came from their side crashing into the ground in front of them and creating an explosion leaving a large crater and sending Weiss and Celeste flying backwards.

Celeste's hood being sent off by the wind, revealing her long pastel blue hair with tinges of green in it as well as her two eyes, one blue, the other a light green, a large scar running diagonally across her face.

Both Celeste and Weiss quickly straightened themselves in the air controlling their movements, Celeste skidding across the snow covered ground while Weiss use her glyphs to slow herself.

As the smoke from the explosion began to clear Weiss could hear heavy thunking against the ground immediately followed by the ground shaking and snow falling from the trees, [It's been really annoying looking for you Scheisse] a girls voice came from the dissipating smoke as a large, even taller than the panzer figure emerged. [And Schnee] the girl added.

The smoke finally disappearing entirely, causing Weiss's face to go pale as she gazed upon the behemoth of a mechanical monster, it stood on two thin legs, It's body diamond shaped with an effeminate frame and long, thick arms, at the end of each were to massive cannon like guns, all covered in a bright red and pink colour scheme.

"Blut" Celeste growled

"Hello Sheisse, it's about time you f.u.c.k.i.n.g die" the girl sounded annoyed as the mech raised it's two cannon's and aimed it at Celeste and Weiss
