Chapter 9 - Admirer

The sun had just begun shining through the windows of the ballroom, awakening Arthur from his sleep as the rays of light seemingly homed in specifically on him. Opening his eyes Arthur had to squint as he could swear that he was the only person in the room that had light falling on him.

Trying to lift his body from his sleeping bag Arthur felt a weight pressing down on his shoulders, looking down to see what was on top of him Arthur saw on his left he saw the bright yellow hair of Yang, and on his right shoulder he saw the black and red hair of Ruby.

'What, happened last night? When did I get out of my sleeping bag?' Arthur thought to himself not comprehending his current situation. Moments later he felt Yang beginning to stir on his left.

Opening her eyes Yang lifted her body, letting out a long yawn in the process, her eyes still hazy and unfocused from having just woken up. Blinking a few times Yang's eyes began to clear up as she looked around, her eyes locking with Arthur's for a moment before looking to Ruby who was still fast asleep on Arthur's arm. Then she looked to what she had assumed was her pillow, but ended up being Arthur's other arm. Her eyes widened at this revelation as she locked eyes with Arthur once again, this time squinting as a evil smile appeared on her face, though Arthur though he could see a slight rosy tint to her skin.

"Morning?" Arthur said as he gulped in fear at the thought of what Yang would do to him if she got angry from this.

"You want to explain why both me and my little sister are sleeping with you?" She asked her tone getting more mischievous with an underlying seriousness that sent shivers down Arthurs spine.

At this moment Rubys eyes began to flutter open slightly still a little hazy as she decided to get more sleep as she wrapped her arms around Arthurs body and got into a more comfortable position this time with her head on his c.h.e.s.t, causing Arthurs face to flush as he watched Ruby calmly returned to sleep.

'Click' Arthur heard his body freezing as he mechanically turned to look at Yang who had taken her scroll out and had taken a picture of him and Ruby with a wide smile. "Oh, moms going to love this" She said her grin getting even wider as she lifted her other hand over her scroll.

"Yang! Don't you dare!" Arthur began to panic as he tried to reach for Yangs scroll to get it away from her. Yang simply responded by scooting back a few centimetres before once again lifting her hand over her scroll and slowly lowered her finger her grin getting wider and wider as she stared unhesitatingly at Arthurs eyes.

Arthur watched this eventually giving up as he watched Yang press down onto her scroll, undoubtedly sending the picture to her parents. "God help me" Arthur muttered as he stared blankly at the ceiling of the ballroom.

"Yang" he said getting her attention "I'm not getting out of this, am I?" he asked eyes still blank as he accepted his inevitable fate.

"Oh, you have no idea" She replied her smile now turning malicious.

Ruby's eyes once again began to slowly flutter open, having been awakened by Arthur and Yang's conversation. Ruby still not realizing what she was resting on decided to wrap her arms around her 'Pillow' and pushed her head into it, hearing a faint beating sound from her pillow.

While Ruby was doing this Yang took another photo with her scroll. The 'Click' sound of the scroll drew Ruby's attention as she turned to look at Yang who had her scroll pointed at her with a wide smile.

"Comfortable?" Yang questioned her sister who simply replied by burying her head into her 'pillow' once again while muttering a drowsy "Very...". Yang, of course took another picture, confusing Ruby who asked "Why do you keep taking pictures of me?"

"No reason~" Yang sang as she stared teasingly at Ruby who finally started to get suspicious of her strangely warm pillow. Lifting her head slightly Ruby saw her pillow was made of a soft light brown fabric. Lifting her head even more her eyes interlocked with the black and white eyes of Arthur, who was at this point bright red which was accentuated even more due to his normal pale white pallor.

Eventually after a few second Ruby's face flushed a bright red as steam seemed to pour from her ears. At the same time Ruby disappeared in a flurry of red petals eventually settling behind Yang, who had been taking pictures the entire time.

"Oh, this is going to be fun." Yang muttered with a devious smirk.

"Where does it all go?" Yang muttered as she watched in awe of Arthur as he was devouring another stack of pancakes, bringing his total up to six stacks of pancakes. Ruby not really responding as she kept her head down as she slowly ate her own breakfast, obviously still embarrassed by what happened when she woke up.

It took Arthur all of ten minutes to finish his stack as he leaned back and patted his stomach, bliss on his face. "I'm full now" he said with a wide smile.

"I would hope so. You've eaten what? Thirty pancakes at this point? How are you not fat now?" Yang asked still perplexed at the sight of Arthur who you would think would have ballooned in size with the amount he ate.

"Side-effect of my… weapon?" Arthur replied, knowing fully that his appetite originated due to the innocence in his arm.

"You don't even sound sure of it yourself. I mean seriously! You should look like that girl by now!" Yang said as she indicated to an orange haired girl who was for a lack of a better word, comatose next to a stack of empty plates that had once also been filled with pancakes.

"And what do you mean 'Side-effect of your weapon' I use my own body as a weapon, you don't see me eating a mountain of pancakes!" Yang rebutted

"Yeah, It would be better to just show you but I would prefer to do that in private." Arthur said innocently as Yang audibly smirked as she said "Oh~ so you want to show me your body in private, hm~" with a seductive look in her eyes.

It took Arthur a minute to fully realize what Yang had insinuated, causing him to flush "T-that's n-not what I meant!" he began stuttering. Taking a deep breath to calm himself Arthur continued "I-its just that my 'weapon' is different, to say the least. It seriously is just easier to show you."

"Awww" Yang pretended to be disappointed "I'm sure Ruby wouldn't mind to see your 'Weapon' as well" She continued causing Arthur to blush furiously as he understood her innuendo. Ruby on the other hand, looked at her sister confused as she said "I've already seen it. It's really big and cool" with sparkles in her eyes.

Freezing on his spot Arthur felt sweat pouring from his back as Yang turned to look at him "Oh, you mind telling me why my sister has already seen your 'weapon'?" Cracking her knuckles and neck in the process as her eyes became crimson in colour.

"Yang? Why are you so angry now?" Ruby asked innocently. Yang turned to Ruby, her eyes now back to their usual lilac colouring as she spoke to Ruby in a motherly tone "Ruby, it seems we need to have 'the talk'" She said.

"The talk? Why? mom already did that before we left Vale…" Ruby replied as she began to rehearse the conversation Yang had been having with Arthur. Her face turning red when she realized exactly what Yang had meant by 'weapon'

"Yang!" Ruby yelled "Th-that's not what he meant! He meant his arm!" her face still crimson as she muttered in a low voice as she pushed her face into her hands trying to hide "Can this day get any worse…" she w.h.i.n.ed into her hands.

"Can we please move on from this? Yang, I will show you later. And please, get your mind out of the gutter, pervert." Arthur said with a red face trying to look as serious as possible.

"Hey! I'm not a pervert! I'm and admirer of the human form, thank you very much" She replied, letting out a prideful chuff.

"I-I don't even know how to respond to that..." Arthur said as he pinched the bridge of his nose. Soon taking a deep breath as he turned to Ruby. "And Ruby…" he said getting Ruby to look up from her hands, face still red. "Could you help me design a weapon for myself? I would use my current one, but I would preferably want to keep my current one hidden for as long as possible" he asked while also thinking 'That, and I also really want a mechashifting weapon' his question immediately snapping Ruby out of her embarrassed state.

"Really!?" She yelled excitedly, stars in her eyes. "What type? How many forms? Do you want a gun? Of course you want a gun! Oohh how about a rail gun? I've always wanted to make a Railgun" Ruby began firing off questions, drooling at the thought of creating a Railgun.

Arthur once again felt even more sweat sticking to his back thinking 'What did I get myself into?' as he tried to get a word in "Ruby…"

"What about a wrist mounted canon? Hmm… no, youd probably just break your wrist. Chainsaw Club? I remember seeing that in a game, I think it was called the Whirlyjig? No, that's not right…"

"Ruby…" Arthur said, failing to get Ruby to listen to him.

"Chainsaw rifle? Seems like fun, could cut up Grimm real good, hmm… no. doesn't fit… Giant Buster sword?" Ruby kept questioning herself still ignoring Arthur who was trying to get her attention.

"Ruby!" Arthur finally shouted, surprising Ruby who jumped at the loud noise before turning to Arthur and seeing his annoyed face. "Hehe, Sorry" She tried to apologize shyly while Yang had face palmed throughout the entire thing.

Letting out a long sigh Arthur turned to Ruby "Anyways, I really have no idea what to use, I've never really touched, let alone used a weapon. So I want to try a few things before settling on a weapon." He explained, getting a nod from Ruby.

"Smart, anyways why do you want a new weapon? Aren't you like always armed?" Ruby questioned Arthur.

"Well, yes. But as you know my weapon is… special, to say the least. And I wouldn't be surprised if people start mocking me or downright thinking me a monster. So I want something that I can use without having to worry about potentially terrifying civilians, as well as adding more possibility's to fighting style." Arthur explained.

"Why would people think of you as a monster? It's really cool! What did you call it again? Innocence?" Ruby asked

"Yes, specifically, it is called Cross" Arthur said as he lifted his right arm in front of himself "Innocence is essentially what Cross is made of. So think of Innocence as the Metal, and cross as the sword forged from that metal. Weapons created from Innocence are also called 'Anti-Akuma Weapons'. Arthur explained to a starry eyed Ruby and a confused Yang who was trying to figure out why Arthur kept indicating to his right arm. "Is… your arm prosthetic? You keep saying it is made from this innocence stuff"

Thinking about her question for a moment Arthur answered "I guess you could say that. It's more complicated than that, once again I would prefer to talk more in depth about it in private"

"Yes, that would be a wise decision Arthur" Ozpin said as he suddenly appeared behind Arthur surprising everyone at the table. "Ah! Don't do that!" Arthur yelled as he turned to face Ozpin, who only responded by taking a sip from his coffee mug.

"Anyways, Arthur I actually wanted to speak to you about that. I also recommend you to keep your…" he took a glance at Arthurs arm "'Weapon' hidden for now, until we can learn if it is of any danger to the others"

Confused Ruby asked "Why would it be a danger to people? Arthur controls it, doesn't he?"

"That, Ruby, is good question. I was informed by summer that she was almost impaled by it when she found Arthur in the forest." Ozpin said earning Arthur glares from both Ruby and Yang, who once again cracked her knuckles "You almost killed our mom?" she asked threateningly.

"In my defence! I was unconscious at the time due to blood loss and fatigue. It's not my fault Cross is somewhat sentient." Arthur said surprising everyone.

"It, is sentient?" Ozpin asked

"Hm? No, I said somewhat sentient. Not fully, it's not like it speaks to me. It can only really take over my body when it recognizes threats and I'm unable to fight, such as being unconscious." Arthur explained

"You seem to know a lot about this 'Innocence' thing and your own weapon." Ozpin astutely pointed out freezing Arthur in his place as he realized he may have revealed a little to much information. "May I ask where you learnt all of this?"

"Um…Uh… Oh! Oh yeah! Delphine! I was taught by Delphine! That's right she told me about it. She was my teacher." Arthur panickedly said 'Sorry Delphine, I need to use your name for a bit'

"I see…" Ozpin said, taking an unconvinced sip of coffee. "Anyways, Arthur. As I said I would also recommend keeping 'Cross' hidden for now" He said as a plain silver long sword appeared in his hand "For now, use this in public until you get a weapon of your own."

"Now, please do head to the cliffs overlooking the Emerald Forest. Initiation shall begin shortly."

Author's note

Okay so what should Arthurs main weapon be? (Cross is intended to be more of supplementary weapon or a trump card NOT his main weapon. He will still use it, but I don't want him to be dependent on it. That and Arthur is someone who doesn't like a lot of attention, and big a.s.s claws sort of draw attention.)

Do I just give him a Scythe as well? But then how do I make that unique and not just a clone of Crescent Rose? Any tips.

If you have other Ideas for weapons comment I really want to see what ideas you guys have

Also theres an Auxiliary chapter where you can comment any ideas for Arthurs semblance, so comment either there or here for any ideas for that (If here, please indicate if its for the weapon or his semblance, Thanks)
