And now, the presumed Main Character, a commoner, has become a Sacred Machine Pilot. This person.

Her name is Ivy… oh, she doesn’t have a surname. Well, that’s just how it is when you’re a commoner.

“Now then, Ms. Ivy…” I said. “After the entrance ceremony and other such matters… yes, come to the school’s gate, alright?”

“Yii-Yes!” Ivy replied, half-squealing.

… Isn’t this less of a “Villainess”, more a “Student Delinquent”?

After the boring entrance ceremony, I reserved a rental Sacred Machine at the academy… ordinary people wouldn’t have a dedicated machine, so I’ll be using it to train Ivy.

I’ll leave the rental robot at the Academy and head to where I told Ivy to go.

It’s not a lady’s job to keep others waiting!! Head to your destination as soon as possible, even if it’s just for a minute or two away!

“Make haste, my feet!!” I cried. “Like a ninja!!”

“Lady Lillie?!” Karin yells after me. “What’s a ‘ninja’?!”

If if we move fast enough, we’ll be the first to reach our destination… and we’re first?

“Is Ms. Ivy not here?” I asked.

I’ve been working towards her special training since I got free time, so… why didn’t she come?

“… You-You’re the Main Character and you’re pulling off stuff like this?!” I yelled.

“Lady Lillie?!” Karin cried.

Uugh, Karin’s kindness is really getting to me.

Is this even a betrayal–?

“Oh, it’s been a long time, hasn’t it, Lillie?”

… This voice!

“Ah, it has been a while, Prince William,” I said.

“Hahahah, can’t you stop with the ‘Prince’ title here?” William says. “If you really want to address me formally, refer to me as ‘Student Council President.’”

William, the First Prince of this country, is for better or worse the cause of my Ruin, or rather the one most likely to raise my Death Flag more than anyone else in this world.

When he was young, he was quite pretty, but now that he’s grown up, he’s become a handsome guy with a sweet face.

That being said, I don’t want to get involved with him because of his position.

What is that saying, he’s got a nice face but… can I say that he has the smell of the Last Boss on him, if not a Rival character?

I’ve got too much of a sense that he’d give a nice speech or be killed by a younger girl using a bazooka.

Now that I’ve realized the situation, Prince William… is he being targeted by the students?

No, I am a girl, including in my previous life, but I don’t really understand what the girl’s preferences are these days…

“Actually, I was going to train someone named Ms. Ivy to train and called her here…” I said.

“Ah, is that the first commoner student enrolled in the Academy?” William said.

You know her, Prince William…?!

“Well, I was just on the lookout for some bullies who might get carried away,” he continued.

I feel that there was some ominous emphasis and implication back there, but was that just in my imagination? 1Prince William had several Kanji below “Bully” that spelled out much harsher words for the trio of bullying noble girls.[/efn]

“So, as for me, I came here to go check on how she was doing out of curiosity… but did something happen?” William asked.

“Oh, you weren’t there, but I don’t think they’ll let word get out because of my position,” I said.

Why does he think something happened?

“On the contrary, I’m wondering why you’re acting even though you hadn’t witnessed anything,” I said.

“Lady Lillie, you’re effectively always acting for yourself, are you not?” William said.

Because I’m a Villainess in an Otome game that will meet a Ruin Flag if I mess up, and since we’re in a mecha setting, it’s easy to die, right? It’s not that easy for me to act for the sake of others.

However, I can’t say that.

“… I’m just lending a hand because I was frustrated, you see,” I said.

I can only say that’s the problem, that I can’t stop being irritated when I see bullying in my immediate surroundings.

Moreover, I have enough power to defeat most of my opponents!!

It’s a waste if you don’t use it! If using your strength to live comfortably makes me a terrible person, then so be it!!

“So that’s why it’s nothing out of the ordinary for me,” I said.

“That’s your appeal, isn’t it?” William said.

“That it is,” I said.

“Hmm? Is that so?”

Is being self-serving good or barbaric?

“Hey, Bro…” another voice said. “There was this girl staring at you. Are they an assassin or something?”

Or, there’s a new hot guy coming in… oh, he’s one of the guys from the package, too! And now I remember him!

It’s the Second Prince, Alex! He’s a brilliant Sacred Machine Pilot who’s been training under the Knight Order.

And, what he’s holding in the crook of his arm is…

“Ms. Ivy…?!” I yelled.

“Who the fuck are… oh, it’s the Gold Huntress,” Alex said.

… What is with that name?

“You know? The Duke’s daughter who defeated the Golden Lord? It was all we could talk about in the Knights, to the point that if you weren’t a noble, we would have invited you to join us.”

Ah, because I won against the Golden Lord, I became the Gold Huntress… at this age, I’ve already got a nickname… if you think if it in terms of a mecha setting, it’s awesome!!!

“Moving on, could you please let Ms. Ivy go?” I asked.

“Isn’t she an assassin?” Alex asked.

“No, she’s a student at this Academy,” I said.

“… Fuck’s sake, don’t be such a scaredy-cat and hide like that…” Alex grumbled.

He’s a knight and a prince, so even though he’s swearing, Alex gently puts Ivy down.

And, more importantly than that–

“Ms. Ivy, you’re going to have to work a little harder than that to win your place here,” I said.

“I-I’ll have to work harder?” Ivy asked.

As a reminder, this school is for aristocrats… even if Ivy is of normal capability, there’s a high possibility she won’t be accepted.

“Yes, you’ll have to prove you have the ability,” I said.

It’s a good thing I’m the only one who’s ever been in a fight, but I’m still pretty sure those girls weren’t even that strong, yes.

Though my instincts for sensing Aces are not as sharp as they could be.

Besides, even if it’s just an Otome game, it’s okay to be strong, because that game was already leaning too much into its mecha genre elements.

“That’s why I will be very strict with you,” I said.

Mnn, I really didn’t want to say that.

But, honestly, if I want this person to be strong while keeping her away from me, I’ll have to make her heart that of a demon.

“From now on, various people will have malicious intent and do harm to you,” I said.

“Ah…?” Ivy gasped.

“You must pilot a Sacred Machine to defeat those opponents,” I continued.

“Huh?” Ivy said.

My, my, Prince Alex? What’s with that reaction… those eyes aren’t something you show to women, isn’t it? No, it’s not an obscene look… it’s like a beast that has found new prey, isn’t it?

“that’s why if you’re going to take my hand and learn to be a pilot, learn it quickly. If not, go back to the countryside!” I yelled.

“Un-Understood!” Ivy cried.

… Haah, I’m not really fit for the Mentor Character role.
