Altora: The Chronicles Of The Ren-Ky Warriors

Chapter 97 - Lark 25th - Shadow

Erin walked the corridors of Mourn Fortress. Biting her nail as she waited. She turned to the gates as they opened, Azoth walked through the door with Vail right behind him. Erin walked over to great them.

"Welcome, tell me did you investigation go well?"

Azoth smiled, "Yes, our spy was able to give us their location once again. Kana will be pulled from hiding and will meet the same fate as Morris and Ark soon."

Vail turned away as he did not want to be there. "Who is this spy anyway?"

Erin smiled, "I think his name was Lau or something along those lines?" Erin cradled her bust. "If I also remember he has fooled even his family, which I have now idea who that is?"

Azoth turned to seed Vail go white. "Do you know him?"

Vial wince knowing that he had no choice. "Yes, he is my half-brother form long ago. He had left when Kyle was young, and I was already part of the army. He said that he would follow leader to death and back for the sake of loyalty?" Vail looked up at Azoth, "He meant you it seems?"

Azoth grinned in glee, "Yes, the man is loyal to a fault, but I always finding knew information." Azoth turned to Erin, "Now tell me do you have everything prepared for the strike on the Goanna camp?

Erin grinned sinisterly, "Yes, and I have move the men to the rendezvous point. All that's left you and I, Azoth."

Vail stared in confusion. "Then why am I here?"

Erin walked up to him. "You are to watch this place in my stead, besides it's not like anything interesting is going to happen?"

Vail stood still as Erin left with Azoth leaving him behind to watch over the fortress. Vail gripped his hand tight knowing he could not do anything as we walked around. Familiarizing himself with the base.

'You seem distraught, Kito?'

Vail turned around to see who was behind him, sweat trickling down his back. "Who's there?"

'My name is not important, but I will tell you that Kana is aware of Lau's betrayal and to not worry."

Vail turned around again hoping to see who was talking to him. A ghostly figure appeared behind him. Vail whipped a round once more to see the ghost, it was Morris. Vail stepped back as he looked at Morris.

"Wait, your—"

Morris nodded, 'Yes, I am. It has been a while Kito. I am sorry about your brother, but now is not the time. I warned Kana years in advance about Lau and said to leave after I passed and to never return even if Lau made his move kill the camp.' Morris walked past Vail. "Ark also knew but stayed to protect Lovell—Sorry Uriel Krisnik. As a favor to Ulva years ago.'

Vail turned to look at Morris, "Did my father know?"

Morris shook his head, 'No, but the only thing bothering me is that I cannot find where Lovell's soul went? I have searched since his passing. It is like it has slipped away to somewhere. Yet at the same time I can feel that he is somehow still alive?'

Vail blinked rapidly, "Wait, Lovell is still alive?"

Morris sighed, 'Quite possibly, it have been six months since his passing, I could feel his up until a week ago? I don't know how but he might have some how have been brought back from the dead? But that does not explain why I can no longer feel his presence. The other conclusion is that his soul disintegrated.'

Vail leaded against the wall, "But then—what is going on?" grabbing his chin as he began to think. "Let's say Lovell came back from the dead? Why has he not contacted the others?"

Morris began to go into though, 'Good question, and the other one is still how did he come back?'

Vail sighed as he stood up and turned away from Morris. "Well, we both know the answers will come when we least expect it. I have to go, I don't know if we will ever talk again, but I hope so?"

Morris smiled as he vanished. Leaving Vail to his devices he walked the rest of the building before looking out of the window. He could see the sun setting as he remember how Lovell just walked up to him and cured him. Not a word or care. He wondered what went through Lovell's head when he did that.

Lovell seemed to be different than he thought, even if they only met once. Vail felt as if he knew Lovell his whole life when they met. Vail closed his eyes before walking off. As a person watched him from a far smiling as he placed a wolf mask over his face with a large black wolf at his side. Leaving as the clouds covered the sky.
