Alyssum: Journey Of A Queen

52 The Killer's Hunt!

Jake gave Alyssa a long hard stare. His face was completely void of any emotions. His eyes were so cold that it would make even the north pole freeze. All he wanted was to kill both of them.

Go hell with the antidote.

But the sane part of Jake made him calm and allowed him to look at the matter more seriously.

He looked around him to see whether he was in any disadvantageous position or not. When he finds none of her tasers pointing at him he huffed and started to walk outside.

"Just like you we also want to find the killers." Alyssa's voice rang in his ears making his feet to stop abruptly.

He turned around and said confusedly, "What's in for you?"

"Nothing," Alyssa answered honestly. There was nothing profitable for her in doing this, catching the killer. But she wanted to. And she had to. If this was some other case she might have forgotten about it and had given some hints anonymously to the police department to catch the criminal. But her recent hacking into the accounts of one particular member of the royal family made her to take this case on her own hands.

Her recent findings had opened two paths in front of her. according to her hypothesis, the first one is that the vampires are the 'diseased' ones, just like she had seen in the Fate Alley months ago. And her second assumption is that this is the master plan of some members of the royal family to start a war with the Westeros.

"They are probably have gotten too much ahead of themselves. How did they get so much confidence that an average kingdom like Coral Bells will be able to defeat Westeros?" she thought it in her heart.

But she soon got the answer that she had wanted and her eyes widened in disbelief. "They are going to drag Easteros too." she thought.

When Coral Bells got divided from Easteros to form their own kingdom, the king of Easteros, Murphy, was half brother of the king of Coral Bells, Morrison. Murphy was a great ruler, was honest, and loved his brother very much. But Morrison was the exact opposite of Murphy. He was a sly, evil, and opportunist person. After the kingdoms were divided, Morrison made Murphy to sign in the agreement that whenever there is a situation of war in Coral Bells, particularly with Westeros, Easteros will have to provide half of its army to the Coral Bells. And if there is any internal strife in Coral Bells, if Easteros provides and if Easteros provides any support to any party, participate in any kind decision making related to the kingdom or have any kind of interference, all of the Easteros will come under Coral Bells and the king of Coral Bells will become the king of the Easteros.

************

"The killer woke before dawn. He put his boots on and covering his face he walked down the streets."

His mouth was watering as their toned body glistened in the radiant moonlight. He looked at the moon and smirked at it then he looked at the worshippers of the moon goddess in front of him and his hunger grew even more.

He had been coming here every night for the last few weeks, waiting patiently for the moment he could have the taste of their blood.

They were beautiful specimens, two of the best he had ever seen. He had waited too long for them, probably the longest. He had smelled them a few weeks earlier when he was chased down by the police. He was hungry and was hiding in the top of the same tree that night in which he was hiding now. At the same time, he had smelled them, two bags of warm blood strolling the road, completely unaware of their surroundings. Never even realizing in their wildest dreams that death was looming over them. The killer had smelled them.

Maybe because he was so hungry that night that he got so addicted to the smell of their blood that he was willing to spend weeks just to get the right opportunity for him to attack and to devour their blood for as long as possible without alarming the police.

His lips curled into a smile as their footsteps drew closer to him. This was the night that his fantasies of tasting them would become a reality.

The thought sent waves of excitement through him, and he had to bite his lips to keep himself still and in stealth mode, just like the predator before his hunt for the prey.

The two men stood just a couple of feet from Him now. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a silver dagger that was stashed inside. He waited until they were right in front of Him before stepping out of the shadows, smiling as their walk came to a halt.

He stabbed at the back of the two men with his silver dagger in swift motion. He didn't even give them any time to realize what was happening to them.

Silver is poisonous for werewolves. They became paralyze even a little bit of silver enters their blood. He frowned at the thought of it. he wanted to make them paralyze but when the silver will enter their bloodstream, it will make the taste of their blood horrible too. he didn't want that. What is the use of waiting so long for a perfect opportunity if he had to drink a silver-coated blood and have a horrible taste?

He could smell their blood becoming poisonous and losing their natural delicious aroma. He frowned and tore their shirt. He then laid both of them on the road, with their back facing him. He sucked their blood one by one and spat them nearby their bodies, on the pavement. He kept doing it till the blood returned to its natural flavor. Just the taste of it made Him crazy. He couldn't stop himself from taking a long hard sip from the wound. His sip made the person beneath him to groan in discomfort and pain making him stop. He waited for them to regain their consciousness. Soon they did.

Both of them got up from the ground looking at each other in confusion. But before they could realize anything, once again He jumped on them from the bushes. He lunged towards the skinny short man first. He wrapped his arms around his waist and pressed the sharp blade against her neck. the other man raises his fist in the air, ready to attack him when He made a small cut on his captor's neck making the other man stop in his action.

"Just do as I tell you to. Don't act brave." He warned them, still grazing the neck of the thin man with his blade. The man hissed when the silver came in contact with his skin but he didn't dare to move. He was more afraid of the killer than the silver.

The killer had a stable hand. The cut was made with exactly the right strength and proportion. It was not deep so that the silver will not enter the bloodstream. It was enough to make the wound painful and make them scared.

"All I want is for both of you to come with me silently, without making any mischief." He said gazing particularly at the tall man.

"Why?" the tall man clenched his fist and questioned him in rage.

"Do you really think that I am giving you a choice here?" he said sarcastically. "It will be better for both of you, particularly this tiny man, he said pointing at the man in his arms, to come with me willingly."

"W… what do you want from us? Do we know you?" the tiny man mustered his courage and spoke.

"Your blood." The killer replied in a low flat voice making both of them shocked. Their knees became soft after knowing the identity of their kidnapper.

Just thinking about the blood again, was making his blood boil. He took one hard sniff of the omega in his arm and said, "Hurry, follow me."

But the Omega didn't do as he said. The thin man tried to make a move to get away from the killer, but his attempt was fruitless. His attempt resulted in giving a big slash around his neck with the silver dagger.

The killer hurriedly removed the dagger from his neck and fresh warm blood poured out from his neck like a fountain. The smell of the blood made the killer go crazy. He dipped his head in the thin man's neck and started drinking it.
