Am I Goddess Or What?

The child slowly opened eyes.She saw that she was laying on bed ...in cave.She turned around and realized that she was actually free.She stood up and looked around.There was nothing else there.Just bed.She saw the opening of the cave and silent voices.Then she heard a familiar voice.

''Dear we need to find clothes for that child.And for our children as well.It is already time they come out.We already waited 100 years that they come and then those stupid humans stole them from us.How mean.''he said trying his voice to be as low as possible.

''Child I know you are listening, come out we won't harm you.''Said a female voice.

She slowly came out and saw a table full of leather scrolls.Woman was sitting and writing as it seems to be list and man was standing behind her massaging her shoulders.

But the sight of those two stunned the child.The seem to be oblivious that they are half n.a.k.e.d.

Man had just multiple wraps of white cloth around his h.i.p.s that were held with golden sash and his upper body open.His hair was long and red and his green eyes looked at her smilingly.The woman was wrapped around b.r.e.a.s.t with the same cloth and sash like her husband.They had no shoes or anything else on.

The cave was cold and the child sneezed.Looking at it she got stunned as they felt no coldness.

''Oh dear.I forgot that humans can't handle this cold.Come to the child's room there is warmer.''said the woman and stood up from the chair that it seems to be made of stone.''What is your name?''

''I don't have name.Mother waited to let father name me and she just called me a child,''she said while looking at the beautiful woman.

''Hmmmm.I will look through olden names and give you one that you deserve.''The woman said while gently patting and stroking at child's black hair.''Our children will be born soon and you can learn with them when the time comes.''

''Learn?''said the child in confusion.Then looking at the woman's slender figure''Children ?Born?''

''Oh you must feel confused.We are the dragon race.But we have this shape when we are at home.Its convenient.And the eggs are of course or children.I can't see trough eggshell is it, girls or boys.Sigh.I need to know what color I need to get cloth.''she said while holding hand on her head.

''Just get same as you wear.Till they grow up and choose the color they like.''said the child.

''How did I not come up with that idea.''she looked at the child with shining eyes.

The child lightly shook head.You are already this old and still so confused.''Are these your first children''she asked while walking and looking around.Nothing just stone and caves....these dragons.

''Yes.They are the first that I have.My husband lived already for almost 800 years before we met.He was my love at first sight.I was just 300 years old at that time.He didn't even want to look at me.But I bothered him so long till he fell in love with me and we have now our own cave and soon our own children.''she said while proudly walking to the other side of the cave.

''May I ask when children are born are they in dragon form or human form?''asked the child.

The dragon lady got stunned and stood there frozen.''I don't know.We left dragons a long time ago and I forgot to ask questions.How foolish of me.What should I do.If they are little dragons it will be hard stopping them to fly around and if they are babies how will they survive here???''she started panicking.

"Breathe.Don't panic.You said there is a warm room.Then put beds there.If there are girls and boys you split the room and separate them.But as they are babies it doesn't matter." child said while remembering about stuff she saw in the village where she grew up.

"Ummm. They will be children 10 years old when they come out.Not babies. Didn't you see the size of eggs?" she said remembering how she woke up as big child.

"Ten years old?!But how did they grew up that much inside and how fast they will grow old."

"Uhm. After I turned 20 I didn't age.And you saw my husband. Same..." she said to the child who's eyes almost didn't pop out.

''Sigh... then we will wait for them to come out and see how we will make this happen. I hope there will be at least one girl so I am not the only girl here.Its awkward.''she said while thinking that they will come out soon.

She walked into the room that was much warmer than outside.Finally she felt a bit more comfortable. She saw the three eggs standing in mid of room on something that it seemed to be quite hot.

''Our children are dragon race.We need hot fire or lava so our children can grow up comfortably.That is one of the reasons we choose this cave.It has a natural flow of fire without bursting out.''she said while stroking eggs with much care.

''It seems to be almost time.There are some cracks here,''she said while she pointed at tiny cracks appearing on all the eggs.

''You should go to the side a bit.When they come out there are usually angry and aggressive. That is only because dragon blood is boiling in their veins.They will calm down a few moments later don't worry.Accept that you should watch out from flying parts of eggs after they start jumping out.Those are too heavy to handle.I''ll call husband very fast and get the cloth so they can put on them.''she turned to the door.

The child didn't expect her to leave so fast.Will she become dragon food?She sat in the far corner of the room,or better sat cave and looked warily at the eggs.But the woman came back with her husband.While they started talking to the eggs in the ancient language of dragons,child understood what they said.

''Come, my children, it is time to wake up and see the world,''he said while stroking the eggs with care.

She was jealous in her heart.Accept her mother there is no one else who loves her like this father loves his children.She felt sad truly sad. Her father wanted her to die and he will probably sell mother somewhere bad.She needs to learn more and needs to become strong.Very strong.

The woman saw the sorrow on the face of the child. She heard from her husband what happened and understood why this child was sad.She went to the child and hugged her.

When the husband saw that he smiled.

"From today on you are family. My given name is Alcazar and my wife's is Teatind"he said while hugging the child. He saw the obvious similarities between the man on the wall and the child. To treat own child like that, the dragon race has no understanding for it.

" We will give you the love that your family couldn't give."he said while hugging the child.

"I had a loving mother, but she disappeared a couple days ago.Father, no, that man told me before you came that he will sell her in slavery.But he didn't say where.I really need to find her " she said with pleading eyes.

"Humans are sometimes really cruel to their own. Unfortunately we are forbidden to get involved.Its old law. But we will make you strong and powerful so you can go and find her." it will take some time tho and lots if of dedication. Can you do it?"he asked the child while worried about that lie.

He knew if he goes now and looks for her ,he could cause the child's mother to even perish.

If that man finds out now that someone is looking for her ,he will probably kill her.He will explain to the child later when she gets a bit stronger.

She felt their love.Strange that dragon race that everyone fears have been more loving than humans.She decided to learn more about own powers.For her own sake,for dragons sake and for mother sake.If she becomes strong no one will bully her again.

She hugged people and felt warm inside.She needed this and they gave her this warmth and care.

''I ,Alcazar will take you in as my goddaughter.''he said making his voice majestic.''This is the promise of the dragon race.We will protect you as much as we can.''

''I,Teatind will take you in as my goddaughter.I will love you and protect you as you were my own.This is the promise of the dragon race.We will protect you.''she as well said with same standing.

In that moment the eggs cracked open and the peaces of shells spread everywhere.The dragons spread their body over the child so the heavy shells wouldn't hurt it.

Three heads peaked through it in solemn manner.Two girls and a boy.''Mother,father''they said.

The child peeked under their hands to see the dragon children.They didn't seem to be violent.The parents got stunned for a moment.They knew that children heard what they said and took off the hands to show the children their new god-sister.

''This is a human child. We promised to protect it.Will you help us?''they said while looking at children with love.They could see that children already accepted the child as the two girls already smiled at her and the boy had seriously cute expression. He didn't know how to express himself so he made strange faces.The child between them snickered and they joined in.

''Wait I will give you a cloth to cover yourself.Come out after you do it.''said Teatind.

She gave them white cloth and helped the two girls put the cloth while Alcazar helped the boy.

The dragon race is born with basic knowledge.But they still need to learn much about world their abilities and human world.

After they came out the child realized that they seem to be much taller than her, but she was just six tears old so it was understandable.They looked at the child with smiles.The two girls went to the child and started pinching her face and c.a.r.e.s.sing her head.They could hear parents talking about the child when they were brought back home.They felt sorry.

The girls choose to cuddle her and boy wowed silently to protect her as well as the parents. they looked at the flushed child and started teasing her even more.But then they heard strange sound from child's stomachs. As they heard that their stomachs seem to make the same noises.

The parents smiled brightly.''Come you are all hungry.We will give you food.'' They brought children out the warm cave and then realized that all four children started shivering.It was winter in the mountains so it was biting cold.The child shook head as she tried before to explain them.They need a warmer place.This place is good for grown-ups but as she understood the children now till their full age of 20 won't have any resistance to outside elements just like humans.

''Godfather.Do you know some warm place outside?Island would be best.So no humans would bother us.''she said while looking at Alcazar. He looked at his wife and started thinking.

''Go back to the warm room.We will bring you food there.I will look later at the maps that I made of places I flew over.''he looked brightly at the smart child.

They turned and entered the warm room in relief. There was nothing in the room. Just shells of broken dragon eggs.The child sat down at the small podium near the eggs as that was the warmest place. The girls sat next to her but boy choose to take one of shells,turned it around and sat across the child.He looked at the child with curiosity.

She looked different than them.Black hair,black eyes.Face like egg, the shape of it.He looked at her straight nose and drooping eyes. A small mouth that was pressed together as she looked like there was so much to say but she fears to do it.

''We are now your family.You can be comfortable with us.No one will hurt you when we are around.We will protect you.''he said while proudly raising his head.As expected the girls nodded and hugged her.They found that this girl with a display of her feelings all over face is quite fun and cute.

Teatind came in with a huge plate full of a different kind of meat and fish.She put it down and expected children to start eating.She ate lots of meat when she came out shell so she taught they will do the same .But a strange thing happen. They looked at her and then at meat.

The child stood up and took one wing of the chicken and started calmly eating but the others just stared ta mother.Why are they not eating?She looked at the child in wonder.The human child seems to enjoy meat but what about her children .Why...

''You children seem to like fruits and vegetables if they do not go for meat.''said child stuffing her self with the meat.She loved meat since childhood.Her mother always complained that she should eat more vegetables so she complied ,but favored food was still meat.

''What you mean to say my children do not eat meat.What am I going to do?''she said as she never in all her life heard that dragon children don't eat meat.

''Godmother,my mom told me that some children are born with sensitivity to the meat and can't eat it. You should try fruits and vegetables.She said on the world there is so many different kinds of plants. Some even as filling as meat. Hmmm but I still like meat.''she said while staring at the plate that could feed half of city.She felt sorry for the food.

''I found a set of islands far away from human continents. It will take them a long time to find them till then you are grown and safe.''he said while barging into the cave happily.''We can pack our stuff now and we can go there right away.As I remember the islands are full of different plants and vegetation.''

''How long will it take us to get there?''asked the child looking at dejected faces of hungry children.

''Ten days of flight,''he said and saw that accept the new child other children are not eating meat.He started laughing.''I guess you got my grandparents blood in you.They had plant preference as well.sigh I forgot about that possibility.''

''Oh I forgot as well.''said Teatind while laughing.''They seemed to be special just like your grandparents.This is great.When you meet your great-grandparents they will be delighted.'' she said.

''We can stop on our way in few orchards in mountains and gather as many fruits as possible,''he said while going out.They don't have much to take.Just a few wood cases of scrolls and wood case of cloth.Everything else they will find on their way to the islands.

''Lets do that.''they packed real fast and then Teatind took off the cloth and slowly turned into a dragon and took the children in one claw and one of the cases in other.The cases were huge. But she was a big dragon so it was no problem for her.

Alcazar did the same and put cloth in the last case.He took two in each grip as he was larger than his wife.

And then they set off to the new home.
