Am I Goddess Or What?

''My dear,''he lightly called his beloved woman while keeping fatherly smile and eyes on the little girl in her arms. She looked at him and slowly laid down the child. She pulled a thin blanket over a sleeping child and slowly went out of the cave.

He took her in arms and slowly in his eyes started to be shown pain and fear.

''We have a big problem, my dear.''He turned his head around while solemnly looking at the cave where the child was resting.

Teatind already knew there would be problems with the child. It was too weak even for humankind. But looking at her husbands face it seemed that the problems are worse than just that.

''Tell me, we can handle everything together,''she said while hugging him.

''The child...won't live long enough with us. We love her so much but she will live just a few tens of years and if she is lucky one hundred and then she will perish from this world. I just..''he felt pain for this child. The dragons are very affectionate when they love someone.

''Calm down,''said Teatind.''We will find answers in our scrolls. But now we need to give children names. So we can bless them.''

''I gave our son the permission to give to the little girl name to bless her. But we have a problem there as well.sigh...''she shook head.

She looked at him smiling. She knew since she had them in her claws. That boy is trouble.

''He likes her,''she said as matter of fact.

''How do you know ?''He said looking at her astonished. He was fearing that she would trip if she finds out as she is extremely overprotective toward the little girl.

''I am his mother.''she said simply as she smiled lightly.''I knew already on the way here that he liked her. It seems he doesn't want to be a brother to her. The way he treats her...''she sighed as she remembered how many times he scooped the child while she was sleeping to sleep next to him. He didn't even let his sisters pinch her too much when they played.

''It seems that way.''Alcazar sighed as well. He knew his son is like him. When he likes someone he is targeting that person only and doesn't want that person to be around other people (dragons in his case).''He is the same as me. This will be troublesome. She needs to grow and become stronger and powerful. She needs to grow to become much more than just the wife of a dragon. She will become the savior of our dragon race so it's our duty is to help her grow.''

''We don't know as well will she love him later. If she doesn't love him after her 20th birthday he promised to become a real brother,''he said while lightly stroking his wife's back.

''I hope that won't break his heart. He needs to become strong.If he wants to be on her side. Later when she is strong and powerful he could hold her back no matter as her man or her brother.''she said while looking at the sun going down.''Let's make fire and I will start to cook. The children will be back soon.''she said while pulling his hand to one of the boxes where she put the pots pans and other things she needed to cook. The girls are hungry so she will cook lots for her.

What they didn't know is that boy was standing near cave hiding his presence as he heard about the child.''I need to become strong. For her. I need to be there for her when she needs me. If she loves 100 years...so be it I will one hundred as well.''he looked with eyes of determination in setting sun.

He went around the mountain and came from other side holding wild pig, fawn and few big rabbits.

In the same time, his sisters came as well. One had full hands with all kind of fish and the other with bunch fruits. They smiled at their brother and went in.

''Mother, father we are here,''they called.

''Come let me cook fast. We shall eat some vegetable porridge today and meat, fish and fruits as well.

The child slept not knowing that the five dragons made dinner only because of her.

They knew her lifespan is only so much and wanted to give her the best life as long she lives. So they promised to be good family.

It was already late when the child woke up. The sun painted walls of the cave in red colors as it set. Teatind came to her and slowly gave her first some coconut water. Then she slowly fed her porridge.

After eating porridge child opened widely her eyes and looked at five people staring at her as she ate.

She almost choked. Coughing she looked at them while they smiled. She had no idea what is going on so she looked right and left.

''Why is everyone here?Am eating alone? Do dragon not need to eat for days?''she asked all the questions at once.

Alcazar took the bowl from his wife and sat next to her to feed her, but the boy buttes in and forcefully took the bowl.

''It's my turn. She will be anyway blessed as I will give her name. So I will take care of her from now on.Father you don't have to care so much. Go to mother.''he said jealously.

They looked at him with wide eyes not knowing how to react. He just shook his head.

''You all go start dinner I will come with her in a bit. She needs to get some more water,''he said while giving her last spoon of porridge.

''I taught about your name.''he said while the child looked at him questioningly''Father gave me right to bless you with a name. I chose one but I need to ask you if you like it . If not I will think of another. I searched trough scrolls after you fell asleep. I will find better if you don't like this one''

''So you want to say you didn't have time to choose better and gave me just any that seemed fine?''said the little girl while teasing him. She then scrunched her face.''If that is how much you care about me, then lets not even talk about our future life. I will yell godfather to give me the name and you will just become my brother.''

She was asleep, but she could still hear all that they said. She told herself that if she could choose her husband its best him.He will protect her definitely.As she was just little girl that was her determination. It was enough for her to just have someone who could protect her from bad people.

If only her mother were here.

''Mother...''she sighed while her face turned sad. When he saw that he feared that she would start crying again.

''Wait. I promise I will definitely find the best name for you. And when I get stronger we can go and find your mother.''he said while patting lightly her head.

She looked at him with teary eyes and knew he certainly will do that. His eyes and face showed determination to keep a promise. All this time she didn't really look at him.

The whole family had the same big green eyes, but everyone's hair was different. Only his eyes were gray.

His father had red hair, mother had golden, one of the sisters had white hair and one had pink hair but what he had ...gray.Just like eyes.

Then she taught about her own black eyes and hair so she taught it was nothing serious. It happens sometimes in all families. Her own father had blue eyes and blue hair and mother had green hair and yellow eyes. She didn't inherit not even one thing from them. Is it that reason why he hated her?

''You and I are special.''she said while hugging him.''I will give you a chance. You have to become really strong. I don't know if I am able to fall in love with you. But we still have time.''she said.

Then they heard a strange sound. They turned around to see what made that sound. But soon they realized that it was his stomach rumbling. She started laughing.

''Let's go eat more. I am not full with few spoons of porridge,''she said while climbing on his back.

She felt it's normal now that she can do that. She got used to it and he smiled as determination rose in him.'I have to become strong to wear her around. And be able to protect her. As she is my future bride.'he taught while carrying her to the outer cave.

When they came out they got stunned. The amount of food was amazing. The girl counted on fingers how many people could feed themselves in the village. At least three villages could eat this much food.

After the boy gave what he hunted, father flew to the other island and gathered multiple big animals and found in deeper waters big amount of tunas so he brought a few of them as well. Mother flew and found more fruits and vegetables.

They used dragon fire to bake that all so it was quickly and well done fast.

They saw astonished faces and laughed.

''We are dragons. When we eat we eat a lot. So we don't need to eat anything for days. But you will need to eat a bit every day as you are human. We are really sorry that we forgot that.''

''Godmother, don't worry. It was my fault as well. I should have said something. Let's eat. I see so much meat.''she sat next to meat plate and started eating.

The bot sat next to her but at first big bowl of vegetable porridge and then stuffed face with fruits as he started at her how she ate meat. Even if she was just a little child, she still could eat a dragon.

Teatind was looking at her astonished.''Maybe she is partly dragon race,''she said to Alcazar as they looked at the decreasing meat in front the child. He nodded.

''She should have some of our blood for sure. Dragon race never cares so much about someone who is not a dragon. I think her blood is thicker than we think. Maybe love between dragons and humans was normal in far past. We need to search through the scrolls later.''

''Let's do that together. But first, we need to have a naming ceremony and blessings of dragons. Maybe one of the old dragons will arrive when we send a signal?''she asked,''If they come we could ask if they knew.''He nodded again.

The meal passed with talk and jokes. And pinching little girls face. Laughing at her making angry faces. On end of dinner, just bones left and few spoons of porridge in huge pot. Everything else was gone. Dragons really can eat.
