An Innocent Heart Longing For Love

Chapter 117 - Abandoned Cinderella Saved By An Evil Fairy King (4)

Though Jacob fabricated a story. His last two statement are genuine.

He had no idea that Anna was kept in symonds residence against her will.

The moment that Jaocb acknowledged that he was a spy, Anna's last light of hope dimmed. Her entire entity was hurt like someone punched her heart thousand times.

Looking at the disappointed look from Anna, Jacob stammered a bit, "I never... intend to hurt you. I never... I am sorry."

Anna closed her eyes in expiration. When she opened again, Jacob encountered a pair of feiry eyes, Anna spoke, "How easy for you to say. Now what should I do? Should I forgive you?

Isn't a disgusting reason for you to say that you are helping me out of my troublesome marriage. Have I ever asked your help? Do you actually believe that if I divorced Shane, I would marry that disgusting boss of yours?"

Jacob raised his eyebrows upon hearing her remark 'Disgusting Boss'.

Jacob thought, She got a point. Who is he to interfere with her marital life. Even if she suffers like hell, it's up to her to decide whether to continue living like that or to get the hell out.

Anna interjected Jacob's thoughts, "By the by, Congratulations! I am finally divorced, Isn't a time for your celebration?!"

Anna's mockery left Jacob a mark of solid slap on his face, It took a while for Jacob to regain his composure. He looked outside the tent to avoid making eye contact with Anna.

Jacob finally spoke, "I may have made a mistake but have not I cleared everything already to everyone online. What more do you expect me to do? If that jerk wants to divorce you even after hearing my confession, How can you hold me responsible for that?"

Anna paid zero reception to Jacob's explanation. She closed her eyes in exasperation as she questioned, "Is it just a coincidence that you found me near the pond, or is this also your planned mission?"

Jacob instantly retrived his gaze and stared at the girl lying next to him, "You?!"

Jacob was enraged and he could not find words to speak. After all that he had gone through the previous day and night for her. How could she threw such an audacity question to him?

Does she ever know how he got worked up to watch her in pain? How ungrateful?

Jacob spit out, "Yeah, let it be my planned mission! But we are camping in a b.a.r.e open land. Where is your groom? Why did he not come looking for you? Is he that poor to hire a helicopter to take a look out for you?"

The sunlight was bright enough to stand as an evident for Jacob's claim. Anna could also feel the ground underneath her. Her mind once again wander back to the lost memory of hers.

Like a page was teared out from a book, the last few minutes before the accident was cleanly wipped away from her memories. Anna could not remember anything other than holding a divorce papers in her hand.

Jacob continued, "I don't care whether you trust me or doubt me. You are gravely injured and I am not a heartless person to leave behind. Even if you are ungrateful for my kindness, I will stay beside you until you return home safe. Take this as my pay back for my wrong deeds."

Without a prior warning, Jacob lifted Anna from the ground and supported her to sit beside him.

Anna who didn't expect the suddden physical contact jerked instantly but Jacob's strong arms held her in position. This was her first time being close to a man not to mention her senses were also intact. All the other time, either she was unconscious or asleep.

"Jacob, Let go of me!" Anna tried to escape from his grasp.
