For these 2 years, the elder trained Ren and Ema mainly in haki. They now are able ed to use Advanced Armament haki. Ren took his time to improve Observation haki too in 2 parts. One, he can see future for 2 seconds and second, he could tell person's true emotions and nature like Fujitora or Otohime. Ren even expressed his feeling to Ema. He can see he hesitation when Ema stayed silent and ignored it. He can feel that Ema has feeling for him but something is blocking her advance. Ren thought of different approach to have her.
