Another Zombie Novel

Tommy fell asleep in the chair across the cell. Gun in Hand. "Tommy wake up? Look he's turned." Dr.Ivin said in a sad voice. Tommy awoke slowly to see Theo on the floor saliva dripping from his mouth. He was a dark grey color. Eyes dried out looking. He looked dazed. He was docile in a way. Almost calm. Tommy sat there devastated at what this chaos had come to. "What now?" Tommy said not taking his eyes off of Theo. "I have a neutralizing gas mixture I am going to put in the cell. It will keep him paralyzed long enough to get some samples of blood. Once I get the serum to work with the samples then we will need to strap him down to the table and see if the serum works." Dr.Ivin said getting the gas ready. You both put gas masks on as a precaution. Then Dr.Ivin tosses the gas into the cell quickly shutting the door behind him. Instantly Theo fell to the bed motionless. His eyes weren't even moving. He wasn't making noises like the rest. It felt as though he was observing every little detail. OR could it be he felt he deserved this as a punishment. A redemption.

You stand in the door way of the cell gun readied incase something happens. Dr.Ivin draws 4 vials of Tar like sludge from Theo's vains. Theo just stares are you. You look away and clear your throat.

Once done getting the samples Dr.Ivin goes back to the table and begins working on the serum.

"Tommy if this doesn't work.. Where will we go?" Ivin asked scared. "It will work Doc." Is all you could say and with that you left the room. Ivin continued to work.

You decide to go see your wife. When arriving to the room Lizzie is napping. Madie is cleaning up. She sees you and freezes. "You didn't do it??"She asked surprised. You shake your head.

"Your right I should have talked to you first before I agreed to do something so dangerous. But Theo took my place instead. Last night we injected him with the Virus and today hes.. One of those things." You said plopping on the couch sighing and rubbing your head.

"He asked me if this is Gods way of punishing us?" You continued. "And what did you say?" Madie asked intently. "That God wouldn't do this. Man did. To be specific Us men did." He said leaning against the back of the couch. Madie looked at him and for the first time it looked like he had aged 10 years over night. "This wasn't your fault. You didn't know at first what they were doing you said it yourself. None of you knew. You were lied to from the start." Madie said going over to him and hugging him. "Theo said he wanted to redeem himself for being a coward when his wife was bitten. He wanted to not let her death be in vain." Tommy said almost sounding like he was going to cry.

You hugged him tighter. "What if we don't get the cure in time? Where would we go?" Tommy continued. "You said there's a ship we can all fit on and take out of here. Go to an Island. That is what we will do. But Dr.Ivin will find a cure." Madie said holding his head in her l.a.p. He slowly drifted to sleep.

Tommy awoke to screaming and a loud Explosion. He ran up the stairs to see there were fleshies attacking his men. Drake Shot one of the monsters in the head and Tossed an Automatic Shotgun to you. "Where's the families?" You asked looking around. "Locked up tight in the Lab with Dr.Ivin."

Drake yelled shooting another one that was behind you. You began firing. Frank fell to the floor with one of the creatures on top of him. Frank was fighting hard. Tommy seeing he was in trouble ran over and stabbed the creature in the skull splattering black sludge all over Frank.

"Thanks man." He said face covered in the smelly sludge. Tommy shook his head and helped him up. They all had the door up and secure they started moving all the bodies to the back of the compound where there was a fire. "Louis make sure to burn all of them." Drake ordered.

Louis nodded looking down. "Whats wrong with him?" You asked noticing his behavior.

"It was his watch those bastards got in.. They bit his girlfriend." Drake said the last part sounding remorseful. "Jesus." Is all you could muster.

Tommy and Drake made their way to the Lab. Opening the door Madie and Lizzie were the closest to it. "Thank god." Madie said running to you and hugging you with Lizzie in her arms.

Tommy and Drake looked around the room noticing everyone's horrified expressions.

"What did you do to Theo?" Tonya drakes wife said disgusted. "We had no choice. If we want a an Antidote we needed a Specimen." You say looking at Madie who seems to be the only one next to Phillip not disgusted. "He is not a specimen. He's a person. Drake how could you?" She said pissed. "He's a monster and has to be destroyed." She continued while pulling out her .38.

Madie pulled hers out. "Put it down Tonya." Madie ordered c.o.c.king her gun. Lizzie Behind her leg.

Tonya chuckled. "You kill Theo. You might as well put a bullet in everyone's head. Because you are sealing all of our fate." Madie said calmly and matter of factly. Tonya looked at Drake for argument. He didn't have one. "You damned us all." She said pushing through everyone and leaving the lab.

"Alright fellas.. Now is it time for a woman's touch of help? I'm here and ready." Madie said turning to Tommy and Drake. Tommy shook his head. "Don't start. Its clear you all could use a hand. I mean all of you are running raged its about time you actually let us help." She continued rolling her eyes. She knew with that they couldn't argue. And So they didn't. But agreed to let the women help.
