__________ POV Beru__________

Ok, so there I am, training my muscle quirks and admiring the gold I gathered(stole). (kinda Scrooge McDuck-like)

I visit my little stash of treasures daily. Just to look at it and wonder why the fuck I even bothered keeping them.

I mean, it's not like I can even wear rings, and gold necklaces don't really match my black exoskeleton all that well...

I guess it was more of an impulsive move, like buying(or stealing) an engagement ring for a hooker. That may be an odd analogy, but I did see a few guys do that.

It always ended up in divorce. The guys likely just tried to be 'saviours' or whatever, whisk them away from a life of prostitution.

But it was usually done with the wrong women. As a lot of them did things willingly. It was easy money.

And yes, my gang obviously ran a few brothels. It's highly profitable and there's no reason not to run them.

We did have a certain set of rules for them. Members of higher ranking would also often look at the way they were being run.

Now that I think about it... Weren't we more of a crime syndicate than a gang? We never really gave ourselves a formal name either.

The members in the primary circle(nearest to the boss)(also includes me) were called the Californian Killers by the public.

We weren't really a friendly bunch now that I think about it...

And I think the gang was actually called something like 'The Dirty Rats' it was a stupid name that Vladislav(the boss) found amusing.

It was also a bit fitting considering our 'expansionist business practices'. We did take out our competitors through underhanded means and were even proud of it.

Well, enough thinking about my old gang. Some interesting things are happening right now. Like this random kid that just stumbled upon me.

He is really small, I think he's around three or something. He's got short spiky black hair and a red cap on his head.

What is a kid doing in the middle of the woods? Are his parents irresponsible enough to let him wander off like this?

He looked a bit scared at first, but then he looked happy?

"Mister Bug!" Great, he both insulted me and screamed out in a manner I find innocent and cute.

"Thank you for saving my parents!" He bowed a bit.

I mean, that's cute and all... But what's this kid talking about?

"I think you've got the wrong person~," I said in a confused tone.

Think, who did I save recently... There was that couple in that car a few years back, but they were just horny young adults. And why are they the first people that came to mind?!

Am I an idiot or something? (likely)

The hero couple should be the most obvious option. Then, I guess that woman was a MILF...

"No! You saved them from that big villain!"Holy shit kid. No need to scream it out. You'll wake up the birds or something.

"What's your name kid?~" I don't want to call him kid the entire time.

"Oh! My name is Kota Izumi!" He greeted with excitement.

"Oh~Why are you here?~" It seems my mouth finally decided to ask something useful. Good job mouth.

"Oh! I'm staying with my cousin while mom is helping dad recover!" Great, well the kid seems to be a chatterbox.

"Are you lost?~" My question seems to embarrass him a bit. It's a bit odd for a three-year-old to come all the way here unsupervised though...

"Yeah, we were playing hide and seek. I wandered off a bit! But my cousin and her friends will find me quick!" His smile is really odd to look at. Why is he so happy about getting lost?

"Do you need help?~" Is a genuine question anyone should ask a child they find lost in the woods.

I should know, I was one. And while I didn't really need any help surviving, a foraging guidebook would've been helpful.

"No, my cousin and her friends must already be looking for me. I'll just wait near here!" Great, now I need to keep an eye out for this kid too.

"Mister! Why is everyone calling you a villain on the news? You are clearly a hero!" God help me. Why am I talking to a three-year-old?

"I am not really a villain~But I wouldn't call myself a hero either~" My answer seemed to be somewhat confusing to the kid.

"I don't get it... But I want to be like you when I grow up!" Oh lord, that's not a good idea.

I mean, I get that he's happy to meet his parent's saviour, but it would be a bit irresponsible of me to just encourage him to become a crimefighting and oddly dressed hero...

But then again, his parents are also heroes, maybe they can train him or whatever.

"Sure kid~You'll be a nice hero~" Now leave me alone so I can admire my jewellery in peace.

Wait, didn't he say someone was supposed to come for hi-

I didn't even get to finish that thought as the earth underneath me gave way.

It was an odd feeling, kinda like climbing up a staircase at night and forgetting how many steps there were, taking one in empty air and panicking for a second...

Yeah, that's the same feeling. But I have wings now. So I just floated in place as the ground underneath me formed a whirlpool.

I quickly grabbed Kota, who was being pulled away by the earth. I don't really know who this is, but I'm not about to let a kid get dragged around by dirt hands.

"Woah! We're flying!" The kid got excited really quickly.

"Let go of the child, villain!" Shouted an oddly dressed woman. She's got short hair, she's wearing cat large cat paws...

"Oh! Auntie! I'm flying!" Well, calling her auntie might be a bit much Kota. I think this is her cousin, to be honest...

"Don't worry Kota! We'll rescue you soon." What? Do they not recognize me or something? I saved this kid's parents like a day ago...

I landed in front of the woman, she was startled. Then, something even more bizarre appeared. A burly man wearing similar clothes and paws as Kota's cousin just appeared from a bush...

Wait... What? Why is he wearing a skirt?

He quickly tried to take Kota away from me, but I don't know if it's safe for him to be touching kids, so I didn't let him do that.

"Stop~," I said. And to my surprise, they actually stopped. That usually doesn't work...

"Take care of the kid you idiots~" Was all I said as I held him up to her cousin. She took him from me, a bit confused.

The guy also scratched his head a bit.

"Why are you cosplaying in the middle of the woods and not taking care of the kid?!~" I started scolding them as any responsible adult should in this situation.

My scolding continued for a bit, as the two of them watched me a bit flabbergasted. Two more women came out of the woods to watch with the same shocked face.

Kota seemed to be having a bit of fun, but he didn't really understand a lot of what I was telling the 'heroes'.

I even threatened to call child protective services.

One of them finally had the courage to speak up after my long tirade.

"Umm... Aren't you supposed to be a villain?" A blond woman with long hair, wearing similar clothes to the cousin. I think these guys might be a group of heroes or something.

"What? No, he's a hero! He saved mom and dad!" Kota looked a bit annoyed at his cousin's friend.

Then I could see them look at me for a bit, taking a pause. Their eyes widened at the same time. "Oh..." Said the cousin.

"W-well, we're sorry!" She bowed a bit. At least she's polite about it...

I turned around to leave, I also need to find a better place to hide my stash. But I can do that later, it's not like they'll randomly start checking tree barks in the area.

"Wait! Umm... Thank you for saving Kota's parents!" She bowed again. I think they are also a bit confused about what to do in this situation.

I think their job is to catch me, but they clearly don't want to. As I helped someone close to them. So they'll just watch me fly away, I guess?

Whatever. I need to go to the bar anyway. The drama Kurogiri always watches will begin soon, and I don't want to miss an episode already.

Hope you liked the chapter!

A few things I feel I should talk about. (since this is getting a bit irritating tbh)

People keep wanting the mc to leave the bar. But where exactly is he supposed to go?

He doesn't have a home, he'd just be on the run(from both the police, heroes and villains) and with no clues as to how to find AFO.

I didn't even see this as an issue when writing(cuz I didn't think it was that big a deal). But it seems that the mc experiencing a slight inconvenience is too much.

Let's be honest, this is all this is. A slight inconvenience. What? He's just asked to do something once every month or week?

People keep saying that I am dragging this out, but what do you want me to do? Just make the mc magically teleport to AFO and take him out?

AFO will die, just read and stop worrying about it.

Sry for the rant or whatever this was :))
