__________ POV Narration__________

Nemuri didn't really know what to make from her encounters with Beru. The two of them were both extremely playful individuals.

To the point where flirting was a regular occurrence for the two of them. It was quite a thing to witness.

Usually, Midnight never flirted with others, it was mostly just jokingly adding sexual innuendos into a conversation. But she found it extremely fun when with Beru.

The two of them just clicked properly. Still, she was a bit hung up on his appearance, she repeatedly scolded herself for judging him by that, but she couldn't help it all that much.

There was another thing that she knew. The more time she spent with Beru, the more she would want to spend.

She clearly remembered her drunken invitation and his calm rejection. She was too embarrassed to look him in the eye after it. Although she cooled down after a day or two.

Now, being suddenly invited to eat by him caught her by surprise. It was also awkward for the both of them, as neither seemed to know how to break the ice and start a conversation.

It was as if all of their social skill fucked off and they were stuck with their anxieties and worries. Nemuri almost felt like slapping herself. 'This isn't like me! C'mon, say something!'

But she just walked in silence the entire way.

Beru's thought process was a bit different. 'How does one go about reminding someone of their drunk moments without embarrassing them?'.

He wasn't feeling excruciatingly awkward, he just didn't want to inconvenience Nemuri too much.

That's why, when they eventually sat down. He finally started speaking.

"Ya know~ You're quite fun when drunk~" She instantly turned red when hearing his strange compliment.

If it came from anyone else, she'd just find it slightly creepy and move on. But this was also the guy that rejected her advances when she was clearly drunk.

"T-Thanks... You were quite great too. I still remember when you broke that pool table we were playing at and Giran got mad." She smiled a bit when speaking.

She was glad that Beru had been the one to break the ice. She hated being frozen up like that.

She didn't even remember the last time she had been like that... It couldn't be that she actually fell for this strange guy... Right?

"Yeah...~ I think he didn't appreciate that~ But hey, at least I won the game~," Beru said while crossing his hands in confidence.

"WHAT?! You clearly lost! You didn't even get close to winning!" The conversation proceeded to go smoothly from then on.

They continued speaking about their experiences, making each other laugh repeatedly, both of them forgot about the food in front of them.

The food got colder as their conversation became more heated. Eventually, they wound their way around the end of that night.

"So... How come you didn't take me up on that invitation? Not that I feel like bragging, but I doubt all that many people would refuse it..." She hid her curiosity behind that joke.

Still, Beru didn't care much about it.

"Figured that by accepting it~ I might ruin whatever we have now~ I don't want that~" Nemuri turned red once again.

All of that senseless flirting and those meaningless compliments didn't amount to anything in front of such an honest answer.

She was not expecting Beru to give such a serious answer. But she didn't mind it one bit, no, it gave her a warm feeling. A warm smile spread on her lips as she thought about his words.

An honest friend, a person that didn't care about taking advantage of her.

She had other friends like that at work, but they were also coworkers. Beru was an outsider that cared for her just as much as the people she had spent half her life with.

So, she completely stopped caring about Beru's appearance, she didn't care about his crimes, she didn't care about his past.

She only cared for his friendship. She wanted to learn more about him directly, she wanted to find out more from his own mouth, to avoid any misunderstandings.

She coughed a bit, taking herself out of her own little world and looking Beru in the eyes.

"Thanks..." She didn't even know how to put what she was feeling into words. Still, the bell was ringing, she would soon have to leave for her classes.

"Maybe we can do this again? Really soon?" She asked with a radiant smile and rosy cheeks. She still reluctantly got up. She couldn't shirk her duties at work.

"Sure~ You're pleasant company~ Why would I refuse~" Beru also got up, his antennas flailed around happily.

"Good luck with your classes~," He said as he looked down at the cold food.

"Maybe we should actually eat a bit first..." Nemuri also finally noticed it. They both quickly stuffed whatever they could in their mouths before quickly running and putting the trays on the used rack.

"See ya~" Nemuri just ran, not wanting to be late to her own classes.

Beru just put a warp gate in front of her and took her to the teacher's lounge while laughing a bit.

He heard a small bang(midnight likely running into the door) and then a loud "THANK YOU!" from the other end as the portal closed up.

__________ POV Beru__________

That went 100 times better than I had thought it would. But then again, I am a bit of a pessimist.

Glad to see she's still as lively as ever. The silent walk over to the canteen kinda had me worried for a second.

I mean, it was either that she was embarrassed or that she didn't want to talk to me. Thankfully, it turned out to be the first.

Still, her reaction at the end caught me off guard. I didn't even know Nemuri could act that cute and bashful.

I mean, she's always pretty composed when I throw compliments her way. But my words seemed to really take her breath away for one second.

It was pretty cute, not gonna lie.

Well, too bad I now need to get a look at that group of thieves that will be doing all of the hostage situations.

Oyama informed me of their hideout and told me to get a good look at them, make sure that they aren't already misbehaving, and make sure they're capable enough for this task.

I mean, the agents in the Hero Public Safety Commission already confirmed their capabilities, but Oyama wants me to get a good look at them for myself.

I only accepted because I'm also a bit curious about them. I mean, they're basically villains hired by the government to act as villains.

I'd obviously be interested to see who exactly they are.

So, I warped myself to that location. They are currently residing in a warehouse (I always end up near one of these what the fuck).

I teleported on top of it and stared down through the ceiling and walls.

Their leader calls himself Wolfram and is always wearing some weird paint on his face. He's pretty recognizable.

They are quite the sizable group. Around 50-60 people. The bulk of them seemed to just be trained gunmen.

But there are a few that don't seem to be carrying any guns on them. I can only assume they have some combative quirks.

I don't really have files on all of them, only the leader seems to have been recorded properly.

Overall, I think this group should be able to deal with most heroes. At least if someone like All Might or that flame guy doesn't show up.

Currently, they seem to be gathered around, speaking and eating take-out. They are certainly relaxed. But I guess they consider the conditions of the mission to be quite 'cushy'.

Maybe they have a way to deal with heroes? Oh well, the next attack will actually happen next week. They just came into the country early.

After getting a good look at them, I confirmed their numbers and strength and sent Oyama a message about it.

After I was finished, I just warped away again. Really, Kurogiri's quirk is the best thing that happened to me.

I arrived back at UA and just spent some time in the teacher's lounge. Speaking with Snipe and whoever was available.

Apparently, the school is preparing for a sport's festival. The teachers are saying it's quite a big event. They even have a stadium for it(which is kinda over the top, but whatever).

It's apparently going to be held in a few days. The students are really fired up to compete for first place.

Apparently, even the general course has a chance to be transferred over to the Hero course if they stand out.

This festival will also be for the Pro Heroes to extend internship invitations to the students. So it's quite important for them.

Well, Toshinori decided to call me to an empty office room to talk about something important.

I kinda accepted since it's Toshi inviting me.

I'm also quite curious about what he has to say.
