__________ POV Narration__________

While Beru was talking with Lady Nagant, someone else was also thinking about her.

More specifically. Thinking of a proper way to apprehend the hero.

Oyama didn't like the losses that the commission had sustained while trying to catch Lady Nagant, trying to find any more alternatives became somewhat redundant to her.

It also became clear that Beru wouldn't really be of much help with this issue. While he was the strongest man alive, it was still quite a bit for him to find her randomly.

It was worse than finding a needle in a haystack. Especially since Lady Nagant was especially skilled at hiding her tracks.

Therefore, Oyama decided to do something more drastic. Something that would affect her more.

Take someone that she cared about hostage. Lady Nagant was still a child at some point, currently, her only living relative was her mother.

And Oyama was going to take advantage of that.

And, thankfully for her. She already had an identity she could use to do this hostage situation publicly. The police were still looking for that mysterious organisation. So all things could be blamed on them.

She would soon call Beru to inform him of her new plans. And, even if he decided that this matter was now beneath him, the Commission had enough agents that could take care of such things.

But she still hoped that Beru would accept to help her with the plan. Having him was basically reassurance that nothing would go too wrong.

Like how he managed to easily escape the encirclement of a lot of pro heroes, including a few of the strongest in Japan.

Sure, that might've undermined the influence of heroes for a bit. But it still proved how efficient he was. Oyama couldn't really be mad at him for that. Wolfgram and his group betraying them was something she should've foreseen and prepared for.

It was a failure on the part of the Commission. And Beru had been forced to escape due to them. Oyama was at least glad that Beru didn't actually start fighting the heroes seriously and defeating them.

That would've been a much tougher blow to the reputations of all Pro Heroes country-wide.

Oyama was planning on telling him to release a broadcast. Giving Lady Nagant around 1 week to show up to a certain place to retrieve her mother.

She was planning on having that 'secret organisation' hijack every monitor in the country for a few minutes every day.

That in itself would make some people distrustful of the security that the government could give them. But all of these problems could be fixed in time.

Lady Nagant was currently the most troublesome factor to the Commission. She held far too much information for them to allow her to move freely.

"Summon Beru here. I have something to talk to him about." She spoke to her secretary through an interphone.

The secretary simply gave a positive response and got to work.

__________ POV Beru__________

Who the fuck is calling me now?

I just arrived on top of this building. I also just figured out who to contact if I want to help Lady Nagant...

I looked at my smartwatch to see that it was none other than Oyama's offices. Great, now she wants something from me.

I wonder what it is... If it's related to Lady Nagant, then I might want to know of it.

I didn't even respond to the call. I just teleported in her office. She almost jumped in her chair when she saw me suddenly appear.

"What?~" Is all I asked. I don't think I need to elaborate since she's the one that called me.

I really hate formalities...

"Well... That was rather quick..." Yea, it's called teleportation, get to the point, I don't have all day (I do, but not for you).

"Well, anyway, I called you here to discuss our next course of action regarding the Lady Nagant situation." She said as she looked me in the eye.

"I can kinda guess that~ She seems to be your biggest issue currently~ Although I don't think she's going to be revealing any secrets any time soon~ If she was planning to do that, it would've happened long ago, probably before you even partnered with me~" I need to somehow convince Oyama that Lady Nagant isn't this big a threat.

I need to make her a bit less of a priority in the eyes of the Commission.

"I am aware of those things. But she still has the possibility of doing that. And it's not something that the board of directors likes." Of course, it's always due to somebody else.

I bet the Commission is just butthurt that Nagant didn't listen to her commands. Their 'leaders' seem to be very replaceable, so I doubt anyone is actually mourning for that guy.

Lady Nagant became a rogue element for the Commission, and they don't like that. I am also a rogue element, but I am a 'bit' too strong for them to deal with.

So they can't really do anything other than hope that I keep helping them from time to time and that I don't start killing them (which I won't for no reason).

"Ok~ So what exactly is your plan?~" I need to know this if I want to help Lady Nagant. Knowing this organisation, it's probably something morally dubious again.

"You see, we've recently managed to find where her biological mother is living, we pla-"

__________ POV Narration__________

Oyama was immediately interrupted by something strange. It wasn't a sound, it wasn't any physical queue that Beru didn't enjoy hearing that plan.

It was something else. A feeling of pure, condensed dread. She could see Beru just staring at her, his cold gaze seemed to be cutting into her flesh, flaying her skin.

It made her gulp. "I-is something wrong?" Her cold and commanding demeanour disappeared completely. She was terrified for her life.

"Not~A~Thing~ Please~Continue~" His voice was calm, the feeling of dread in her heart vanished, as Beru tilted his head innocently.

Oyama had somewhat forgotten about it. She had somewhat gotten accustomed to Beru being laid back and quite relaxed at all times. She forgot just how dangerous he was.

Not just on paper. He wasn't just 'strong', no, he was a frightful individual in all aspects. An actor, a manipulator. He could play with his own emotions like it was nothing.

His laid back demeanour only served to subvert people's impression of him. She should've been more careful with her words.

Or those were her thoughts. In truth, he was a good actor, but he didn't bother acting when he was around his friends. Not in this life.

Beru was a very calm person. He was quite difficult to anger.

But, since he had just gotten to know Lady Nagant, and he knew what the Commission had made her do, and the effects they had on her psyche.

Well... Let's just say he wasn't pleased.

His empty eyes gazed into hers. She could see his antennas dancing around a bit, as if happy. But she knew, she could feel it in her bones. He wasn't happy.

"W-Well..." She continued to explain the plan to him. This time, the feeling of dread had lessened greatly.

And Beru was acting like usual, responding like usual. But Oyama still didn't find the situation normal. There wasn't any gesture in the previously extremely animated Beru.

He wasn't the type to stay idle. He would always move his hands, stretch in the middle of conversations, some would find that rude, but it was just how he talked...

Well, all of that was missing here. Beru was almost completely unmoving. Only moving his mouth to respond and his antennas from time to time.

The only thoughts on his mind 'How am I supposed to help Lady Nagant now?'.

A few solutions were lining up in his mind. He could kill everyone present in the Commission, including the board of directors.

But he was sure that he wouldn't be able to escape persecution if he did that.

His efforts to get rid of his criminal record would be washed away just like that. Not only that, Lady Nagant would still be on the run. So he wouldn't even be able to permanently help her.

No, he needed to talk to some people. Getting rid of her criminal record was simply impossible. Therefore, he needed to find a way to lessen the charges waged against her.

Get her a reduced sentence. And, to do that, he was going to have to contact a person he had met before. One he didn't even know the name of.

The chief of police.

"Well... That is the plan we have come up with... Say, will you help us?" Oyama spoke a bit calmer, having somewhat regained her composure.

Although she was still just as vigilant.

Beru was brought out of his thoughts by her. "Sure~ I can handle most of it myself~" Beru knew that dissuading the Commission would be difficult. So, he decided to just do it himself.

He would make sure no harm actually came to Lady Nagant's family, and if she showed up, he would need to be prepared for an arrest.

He needed to prepare to reduce her sentence already.

"You can send me the details on where to find her family later~ I have a few things to do for now~ I'm sure we'll meet again~ Until then~" Beru then warped away.

He headed directly for the police station in Musutafu. He needed to get in contact with that chief of police as soon as possible.

And, right after he left. Oyama released a sigh of relief. Then she quickly started to contact a few people...
