Right now, Shen is stuck on a deadlock. Monkeys are known for their persistence, intelligence, and cunning schemes. A human that has only begun his journey in this World facing such foes are definitely not ideal.

What option does Shen have against hundreds of these monkeys? Each one has the size of a human and their boss is actually three times that.

Run? They are faster and more mobile than humans in these terrains.

Fight? With the numbers they have, even if one of them each take turns to hit, Shen will die before he can even hit kill one.

Talk? Well...

Shen: "Hello boss Kong, I wish to join your crew. Please let me be of service and I`ll help you get more humans to eat."

But as expected, the monkeys didn't give him an inch.

Savage Kong: "Kill Human! Mine head!"

"UHhhh!!! Uhhh!! Ahhhh!!"

"Uhh AH!!!"

The monkeys immediately jump out of the window while those from the higher floors started climbing down.

Shen felt helpless but the only option left for him is to run. from the way he came is the way he goes.

Shen: 'I`ll lead them to the termite and ant's lair, I could at least buy some time.'

With his only hope, the only thing he can do is actually persist.

He ran to the monkey lair for 12 minutes, with his physique, he could run back again for less than 10. It's just that, it looks like the monkeys can make it in 8.

From the surrounding ruined buildings, the monkeys are quickly catching up to Shen, but the ones following him from behind actually has not gained closer to him.

Shen: "I need to make it out in a much wider plain before I get surrounded."

Shen's plan is actually effective, but an event that he didn't expect to happen occurred.

"Yiiihaaa!"

"Hey, Kid! We've been watching you for a few hours already, you did great in surviving!"

Two people appear out of nowhere but in Shen's eyes, it's like he's seeing a hybrid instead.

One is a flying male that has some sort of wing looking things attached to his arm and some small feathers, there's also noticeable chicken skin. The other one is a female with sharp thorns growing out of her body and claws as sharp as a knife's.

"Kid, just stay there, we'll save you." The female spoke as she continuously made her way towards Shen.

"Wha..." Shen couldn't believe what he's seeing right now but as soon as he stopped speaking, a few explosive sound echoes together with the grumbling of the ground.

"RAAAAAAAAAAWRR!!!"

A stampede of at least 40 high-level monsters with different names but is of the same race are approaching them.

"Kid! Grab on to me." The lady spoke.

Shen didn't even have the time to think as he stretches his hands towards her.

As soon as that woman caught Shen's hand, what followed made Shen slightly stunned.

"Pil! Catch!" The lady howls.

The man nodded as he dashes near the lady: "On it."

"WAAAAAAAH!" Shen's mouth subconsciously opens as he screamed at the top of his lungs but at the same time, he is looking at the names above their head.

Shizu (Stage 1) Lv. 62

Shen saw their names and felt bewildered: 'Stage 1? What's that?'

"Hey kid, catch!" Before Shen could finish his thoughts, the lady shouted at him in an ordering manner.

Shen unintentionally nodded as he grabs the sack. Shen then immediately opens it up and saw a lot of rocks; "This... rocks?"

"Hahaha." At this time, Pil laughs as he continues: "Well, we find it a laugh when we saw you threw those rocks at the injured termites before. I bet Shizu threw that to you so you can use them like that time too."

Shen felt a little astounded; 'These two... are too weird...'

But as soon as Shen looks down, he saw the monkeys being trampled by the stampede of rhinoceros.

Shen felt elated; 'Nothing but luck after encountering these beasts... although I always need to run for my life...'

After shen thought of that, he immediately threw the rocks towards the running and dying monkeys.

Shen with his unstable footing could only hit thirteen monkeys out of more than a hundred of them.

"Pffft!! Hahahaa." At this moment, Pil laughs.

"Hmmm?" Shen felt bewildered but before he could ask, another one came.

"He... hahaha, he really threw it!" This time, it's Shizu.

"Wha... why are you both laughing..." Shen felt bewildered.

Shizu laughingly climbs towards a high ground to be near Pil and Shen as she chuckles one last time before replying; "Well, it looks like a kid threw rocks after losing a fight towards his enemy. Hhahaha."

Shizu lets out another and Pil joins her.

Hearing their words, Shen finally realizes what they were hinting him on. He then looks at the two and asks: "Why aren't we leaving here? this place is dangerous."

"Dangerous? Maybe for you but not for us who already have evolved." Pil replies.

Shizu nods her head and spoke: "Well, yeah, we should be leaving, but the meat of these monsters are really valuable..."

Shizu halts in the middle of her words as she looks at Shen: "Wait, which fort did you come from? I haven't seen you in any of the nearby forts before."

Hearing this, Shen couldn't really say that he came from the past and starts looking at the two of them.

Pil: "We saved you, the least that you can do is tell us where you came from."

Actually, Shen is just thinking of an alibi: "That... I came from 7th City..."

Both Pil and Shizu open their eyes widely as they look at Shen in a strange manner.

Seeing their reaction, it must've meant that the 7th City is no longer available: "I don't know how long was I in a coma, but as soon as I woke up, I was buried by a few rocks and some wood, as soon as I got out, I just started walking aimlessly..."

Both Pil and Shizu close their eyes as they start imagining how Shen actually survived.

Shizu opens her eyes as she spoke: "For someone in a vegetable state for a few years, you sure have good physical ability."

Shen sighs: "Well, you can just kill me here, but that's the only thing I can remember before I got here... and where am I?"

Pil looks at Shizu with a giving up face as the latter sighs: "You're standing on top of the ruined 7th City."

Hearing this, Shen only looks down and could only think of what actually happened to his schoolmates, his friends, and neighbors.

"Kid, don't worry, although the World isn't as what it used to be, there are still people living, there are more of them than you think." Pil smiles as he pats Shen's shoulders.

"There... there are many more survivors?!" Shen opens his eyes in shock.

Shizu nods her head: "Yep, we will take you to the fort, there, you can learn about what happened these ten years."

Shizu: "If you really had been in a coma."

Shen decides to ignore her second sentence and replies: "Thank you so much."

Shen then looks at the sky as his thoughts wander; 'I wonder... If my friends are alright...'
