Armed Summoners - Black Spears and the Brave Men of the Other World

Lesson Seven: Red Lotus and Burning Is My Soul

"Somehow, you're sad..."

It was only at a time when Setsuna was slightly inclined to the day when it was supposed to be in Jomtien that Setsuna had a sinking face in front of the people who had just been burned out.

It was not long ago that we succeeded in getting out of the woods safely. You were right to go down the beast path. There was nothing like encountering the Imperial Devil, or facing any problems. Somewhat, it took me a while, and my legs were tired.

Outside the woods, vast heavens and earth spread as if to show off their dazzling glow. Clear air and gentle winds were incredibly clean in the woods. Overwhelmed by the earth that continues to the end of the horizon, breathe in the vibrant flock of blue that fills far overhead. Setuna's mood also cleared into a completely different sense of openness than the sense of obstruction in the city where she was born and raised.

Everything is novel. Everything in my eyes seemed brilliant. The blue sky, the sun, the clouds, the grass, the trees, even the stone felt like there were different worlds.

And he had stopped thinking as much about the hairs as he had about the Azmaria-Altemax who had summoned Setuna and left him.

In doing so, I went out on the street. The streets passed by the woods where Setuna was summoned. Though I recognized it as a street, it's not paved specially beautifully. It's just that the grass is being mowed and the skin is peeling off. But I didn't even see any weeds on the ground that would have been trampled by one for a long time. At least it would be better than a beast path in the woods.

Strange shaped stone columns dot both sides of the street. It's different from the guardrail again, but it doesn't even seem like a line between the streets and the plains.

Before the stone columns on that street, they were solidified. Dozens of young and old. The expression "burnt ones," though, is not a mistake. It's only terminal, but in Setuna's only vocabulary, there was no other way to describe them.

It was the first time outside of Azmaria-Altemax that I would face a human being in this world. But there's no tension like this. Azmaria got word for it. I shouldn't have to worry about anything.

And so much thought and question is the fact that this is a different world. The inhabitants of the world, which should consist of strange races and strange languages, somehow understood the language of Setuna, who also understood the language of this world. It was Japanese that Setuna used, and it was Japanese that Azmaria used. I hope there's nothing wrong with communication, but it doesn't really come down to it.

Without interrogation, Setuna was speaking to them.

Setuna herself didn't understand why she spoke that way. Is it because their condition was too tragic? Even so, there would have been more words to hang. Where I regretted it, there's nothing I can get back.

"... are you a jerk?

But it was unexpected that an old man came back with words that looked more painful than this one. Middle-meat middle-back, old man with no features like this. The clothes that wrap his whole body burn and look like right after the fire, too. The old man is not the only one. The boy hiding behind the old man, the woman who looks at this one with interest, and the young man who sneers like tired, it was as if everyone, except one, had escaped the fire scene.

"Ah, uh..."

After the old man told me, Setuna recalled her condition. The uniform was melted in the battle with the Imperial Devil, and the left thigh was bandaged. Sure, depending on what you see, this one is probably more miserable.

Though the pain in my thigh is a lot easier, I haven't completely healed it. It sounded every time I walked. But it's not unbearable. They walked all the way here.

"I'm a mess."

"It doesn't look very..."

Setsuna felt her heart washed by the words of an old man who looked worried. He tells me that the old men are the ones who look like a tough situation, but suddenly he guides himself to strange men who have spoken to him. He's sweet. And the words make sense. We're having a conversation in Japanese. I had no idea what the principle was, but would Japanese be common in this part of the world?

"Don't worry about me. I've exorcised the Imperial Devil."

I went to blow the old man's worries away, but it got a little noisy. Even so, I'm not eating at Setuna.

"Give me the Imperial Devil...?

"You got kids?

"How can you not have a weapon?"

"You're lying, right?

Setuna had no choice but to be confused by the appearance of the people whispering to each other. I guess I shouldn't have said anything about the Imperial Devil.

Demons of different worlds, who lived in this world. For the inhabitants of this world, it may still be something to fear. Even if it's just a miscellaneous fish in front of a black spear, it can be a threat to normal humans.

"Is that true?

"Er... yes"

"It doesn't even look like you're lying, but I can't believe it."

The old man laughed uncontrollably. Be a good face for people as soon as possible. Setuna also let her face down, but she quickly became true-faced to what was going on with the people around her. I don't see any traumatic trauma on the one person who's been burned out. Your clothes and hair are burnt to the point. But fear is shaking in its eyes. I guess I got horrible eyes.

"By the way, what happened?

"It's..."

The old man dropped his gaze at Setuna's inquiry. I guess you don't want to answer. No, maybe he didn't even want to remember. Strongly regrets asking without even thinking about their emotions. I shouldn't have asked. It reminded me of something hard.

"The city burned!

What kept me screaming was a girl who looked less than ten years old. Until earlier, I was peeking at this one in such a way as to be afraid from behind a motherly woman, but at some point I was getting closer to Setuna's feet.

"Suddenly, it burned bright red!

Setuna gave in to align her gaze with the girl. The girl has been appealing diligently, even as she stretched her expression to fear. Maybe he remembers the sight of a burning city. My eyes are shaking. My chest got painful. The fear that has engulfed the people has cast a deep shadow on the hearts of such a small child.

"The city burned...?

Setuna snapped as she rebelled. The girl enjoys it with a strong will, even though she is about to cry out. And I'm staring at Setuna. I don't know why I've appealed to Setuna.

But there was something in Setuna's mind that resonated.

"This kid's right. Our city was burned. I don't know why, I don't care about that, but the city's burned!

"The killer is a man. That must be an armed summoner..."

"My house was burned too..."

Hearing the sorrow of one spinning mouth, Setuna stood up quietly. Trying to stroke the head of the girl who started leaking whimpers, stop. If a stranger touches you, you may give him extra fear.

Then a woman walked over to the girl and hugged her. Maybe she's a mother. It was a strong and gentle inclusion.

Setuna returned her gaze to the old man in front of her.

"I've been running away on my own. Wouldn't you be able to stay in Karan like that? I'm going to Krebourg."

"Karan or Krebourg?

"Didn't you come from Krebourg? It seemed like it was coming from the south."

"Yeah, well, you're right."

Not knowing how to answer, Setuna hammered appropriately. You won't be able to tell the truth. If you don't believe me when I talk to you, I'm falling out of my mind. I met a human being because of it. I don't want to lose my connection with that.

The old man's story shows that there is a city called Krebourg south of this street. I mean, a city called Karan would be north of the street. And Karan was burned by a man. The man is an armed summoner. Armed summons. Like Setuna and Azmaria, it would mean a user of summoning armed.

Setuna saw the girl crying in her mother's arms. Perhaps the thread of tension that had so far strained her spirit was broken. The cry seemed to pierce my heart. Hold hands. My nails stab me in the palm of my hand, but I don't mind. The taste of blood spread over my tongue. He was chewing off his lips.

I wonder what that feels like. Anger? Or should I say righteousness? I'm surprised that such a thing exists in me. I discover a new side of me wondering if I was such a person.

I wanted to wipe away the girl's fears. When I thought of it that way, I couldn't stay or stand.

We've got a destination.

"What's up? Are you sure this is bullshit? You..."

You've noticed this anomaly, and the old man in front of you has called out to care.

"Yeah, it's good."

Setsuna smiled, but her eyes might not have laughed. I couldn't afford that.

Patrol your gaze so as not to offend the old man's mood, and, uh, notice. Of all the groups that had fled the burned city, only one, a woman, was uncomfortable. The woman, who sat up to hide at the stone pillar, was just one, without the appearance of being caught in flames, without a sense of sadness. Beautiful glossy dark hair.

Clap, the woman looked at this one. The gaze is staggered. I didn't see any emotional feelings in my grey eyes, either.

For a moment, the woman seemed stunned. but maybe that was a vision. In the next moment, the woman was responding to this gaze with a smiling smile. It was a picturesque smile.

Setuna turned her gaze back on the old man when she had a mild meeting without any particular doubt.

"Thank you for letting me hear so much"

"Hmm...?

Setsuna smiled bitterly in her chest at the look of not getting the old man's guidelines. I won't have a choice. I didn't tell you anything about this one. And I thought that was fine. Wouldn't it be better not to get involved any more? My destination is the City of Fire.

"Goodbye, then"

"What? Hey, where are you going?"

The old man's call to rest was heard on his back.

Setuna, who had already started walking down the street, never looked back.

"To Karan!

I just answered screaming. Karan. Find the man who burned the city and beat him. Otherwise, this anger was unlikely to subside. It doesn't matter if your opponent has enough subpoena arms to burn the city. There's a subpoena weapon here, too. There is a pitch-black spear that defeated that group of Imperial Demons. I didn't feel like losing.

And I heard voices from behind.

"Karan would be in the opposite direction!"

Setsuna stumbled.
