Asgardian Sword God

Chapter 4 - Fight!

To go out and train by himself, Vali had to prove to his adoptive father, Odin, that he is capable and have the strength which would be enough to protect himself at the very least. And this is to be done by him surviving the onslaught of the leader of the Valkyrie, Brunhild for one minute.

Since his opponent is going to be the leader of the Valkyrie, Vali gulp as he felt a bit of regret and fear. While he is just a kid, the other party is the Chief of the Valkyrie, someone who is one of the top strongest warriors in Asgard. And just surviving and blocking the attacks for one minute of Brunhild is something a person with the power level of Vali would do if they have a death wish.

But since he extremely wanted to go out and train, as he is stuck in the city without seeing anything out there since he was brought to Asgard, he decided he would at least try to do the test. If he succeeds, he can go out to train and even if he is unable to defend himself for a minute, he will still gain experience and an increase in his power level from the fight. Either way, I will not lose anything much, Vali told himself this to take away his fear.

" Okay.. Let's do it. One minute right? " Vali tried to say sound as excited as he could, he is scared that if show any hint of fear, he would not be permitted to go out until a long time.

As he heard this, Odin is a bit surprised. But seeing Vali saying it excitedly made him feel that the boy must be confident in his strength and abilities.

" Well then, shall we go to the training ground. " Odin said as he took the initiative to lead them both to the training ground.

....

As it is late in the afternoon, Hela had just come back from the training ground, like Vali, she continued to train herself diligently. While walking back towards her room, she saw her father, Odin, Brunhild and Vali walking towards the direction of the training ground. She wanted to see what is going on, so, she begins to follow them. As they went to the training ground, she thought " What are they going to do in there? Is Brunhild going to train Vali? ".

As Hela knew she is not going to learn anything or get her answers if she did not follow them, she immediately went into the training ground and hid herself in the corner to observe what is going on.

....

As the trio has arrived at the training ground, Brunhild and Vali went to the center of the training ground while Odin stood at the corner to give them space for their fight. He stood in front of the wooden poles so that he could have a good look at the fight.

Hela, observing in the corner saw that Vali is going to fight Brunhild, she thought, " Is Vali able to stand his ground against Brunhild now? How strong did he get in this short amount of time? " She was puzzled, but as she continues to ponder, she shook her head as she finds it illogical and laughable for Vali, a 10-year-old human to be able to fight on par with Brunhild who is the leader of the Valkyrie.

Seeing the fight that is about to happen, Hela smiles as she knows Vali will be thoroughly beaten by Brunhild. Although Vali had gained a bit of Hela's respect for defeating her, her hatred of him still completely overshadows the respect she has for Vali.

As Odin noticed the hiding Hela, he quickly signalled her to come and watched the fight with him.

...

At the center of the training ground, Brunhild and Vali are standing and preparing for their fight.

" Are you ready? " Brunhild said to Vali.

" Yes. " promptly replied Vali as he nodded his head.

Hearing this Brunhild quickly draw her sword, which looks similar to the Chinese sword Nandao, but the only difference is that it is a bit bigger and longer than a Nandao.

Seeing Brunhild draw her weapon, Vali too draws both of his swords from the sheat and immediately took a defensive position and activate all of his skills. He knows that there is not a single chance for him to defeat the woman standing in front of him, but defending for a single minute, he believes it might be possible. So, without any delay, he begins to try and protect himself.

As Brunhild saw Vali drawing his sword, without a moment of notice, she rushed towards Vali and in a flash, she suddenly appeared before him and struck at Vali.

Slid!

Vali, as he blocked the strike made by Brunhild with two of his swords, due to the sheer amount of force accompanying the strike, he slid backwards and begin to lose his footing. And even though Vali used Kenbunshoku Haki he could not dodge the attack in time.

While he is stumbling to gain his footing back, without giving Vali a time to breathe, she immediately followed him and hit him with another strike. Again, this time, Vali barely blocked the sword strike, but before he could move away from any further, Brunhild sent a kick to the side of his stomach.

Puah!

Vali spat out a bit of blood, due to the kick, he is sent flying backwards. Vali rolled a few times, with the help of his katana, he stuck both of them to the ground to stop the momentum. If Vali hadn't noticed the attack before it happens using his Kenbunshoku Haki, he would not have been able to cover that portion of his body Brunhild kicked with Bushoshoku Haki and the damage done by the kick would have been more serious.

Immediately, Vali stops rolling as soon as he drove his katanas into the ground. As the woman he is fighting right now is too powerful for him, he is treated like a rag doll by her.

Although it hasn't been long since the fight has started and half of the promised time of one minute has not even passed yet. But, for Vali, it felt like he had been fighting for an hour, and from the looks of it, Vali seems like he is already defeated.

Right now, Vali is contemplating whether if he should give up or continue fighting. But, as Vali knows that the Asgardians respected the strong and that Odin could not shelter him from everything, even now, when Odin is not around, some, if not most of the Aesir would look down on him and despise him just because of the fact that he is a weak human who is given a name they think he does not deserve.

Vali wanted to make himself stronger, strong enough so that he would not forever live under the protection of Odin. Because he knows that this protection is superficial at best because as soon as Odin is not around, he would be treated like garbage by some of the Asgardians.

In fact, he wanted to change his fate and took control of his own destiny. From his previous life until now, he had some of the worst luck that the world has ever seen. Some might say he is lucky to have integrated with a system and transmigrate. But, what is the use of the system if he is not alive, if he could not even gain the respect of these few Asgardians, what purpose does it serve? How could he dream about controlling his own fate if he could not even accomplish this meager task. The very notion of it will be preposterous, in fact, it is laughable.

With that mindset, Vali exerts all of his strength and begins to stand up. As he stood up, he is panting and breathing heavily, wiping the bit of blood by his mouth, Vali shouted " Continue. "

Hearing this, Brunhild smiled as she admired the tenacity and stubborn persistence of the boy before him. As she heard the invitation, she said " Well then, get ready. I'm coming. "

Before Brunhild could attack him, Vali exerts all of his strength, activating all of his skills. And a sharp blade-like aura began to cover his body and his sword, then with one of his sword he strikes out at the air before him.

Bzzzzz...

A sword energy blade of about a radius of 1 meter each flew out from the start of the slash to the end, following the curve of the slash. As they are of 1-meter radius each, this means that the height of his wind blade is taller than him. And as Vali put everything into this one strike, he immediately fell down unconscious to the ground.

Even though Vali fell to the ground, the wind blade continued on its path, staring at the incoming projectile attack, Brunhild felt cold sweat dripping down on her forehead, she felt a bit of fear.

Instead of attacking, she immediately begins to take a defensive position. Driving all of her strength to block the incoming attack, she slashes out

Bzzzzzzzzzz....

Immediately blocking the sword energy blade with her sword, Brunhild continues to keep on driving her strength to block it completely. For a moment, the two are at a stalemate.

But, due to her Amazonian like superstrength, Brunhild finally forms a crack on the sword energy. Following this, not a moment later, the energy blade shattered and vanished.

As she exerted a huge portion of her strength, Brunhild felt exhausted and she begins to breathe heavily. She felt relieved to know that the attack was less durable than she had thought when she first received the attack. If it had been more durable, she is sure that in this fight, she would not just be tired and exhausted. She believes, no, rather she knew that she could possibly suffer some grave injuries.
