Chapter 20 - How To Build Your Own Spartan/Halo Amour

"…I and the Board of Directors have announced the creation of an experimental class spearheaded by Wu Zhangkong. Its name is, Class Zero! The students for class zero have already been selected. From class one, we have Tang Xingxi, Tang Wulin, Xie Xie, and Gu Yue. From class two, we have Zi Hui, Zhang Yangzi, Wang Jinxi, and Wei Xiaofeng."

"Hey um, Gu Yue?" Tang Xingxi said.

"Yeah?" Gu Yue replied. Eyes shimmering, cheeks slightly rosy, she looked perfect as the pink cherry blossoms wove past her face. (A/N: TOTALLY just coincidence. YES. TOTALLY. Cherry blossoms TOTALLY exist here too. Yeah, they TOTALLY do)

"Uh, could you bring me to the places where I could learn the other three professions?" Tang Xingxi asked, slightly charmed by her looks.

"O-okay…" she replied, "Hold on! You don't mean mastering all the secondary professions!" Gu Yue blurted out.

Tang Xingxi simply smirked at what she replied, and sure enough, it was the type of smirk which would only mean yes. Looking at the shocked expression of Gu Yue, he started chuckling.

Blushing at his response, Gu Yue held his hand and started leading him to all the different profession associations starting with the Mecha Designer's Association.

Finally arriving at the association, it looked very similar to the Blacksmith's Association, except that instead of the yellow and firey vibe of the Blacksmith's Association, the Mecha Designer's Association gave off a green and intelligent one. Walking through the doors, a lady who would look like the perfect businesswoman back on earth greeted us.

"Hello Ms Gu Yue, welcome back to the Association. If I may ask, who is this acquaintance of yours?" (Lady)

"Oh, he's someone who I'm recommending to join the association." (Gu Yue)

Visibly shocked at the response, the lady turned to me and said, "Oh, alright then. Come on, I'll lead you to the testing site."

Realizing she said something wrong, Gu Yue was about to correct herself before seeing Tang Xingxi being as carefree as ever.

Along the way, Tang Xingxi asked the woman, "Miss, how does the test work?"

"Oh, Ms didn't tell you that?" the lady asked with a surprised face.

Looking at Tang Xingxi who still seemed clueless, she looked at Gu Yue. Seeing her innocent smile, the woman just sighed in exasperation before speaking.

"Well, the test goes like this. You will anonymously be met by a randomly selected customer whom you will be tasked to draw designs for. These designs will be for white, yellow, purple, black or red spirit mechas. You only have one hour to design each. You can choose which one you do. You can also opt to design battle armour, but that will be much more difficult than the first option," the lady said with a smile on her face, "Oh, my name is Lin Yaowen. What's your's?"

"Oh, my name's Tang Xingxi. P.l.e.a.s.u.r.e to meet you," Tang Xingxi said.

At that moment, the soul elevator stopped and the doors opened. Moving to the testing rooms, Tang Xingxi walked towards the battle armour room. Lin Yaowen did a small bow towards Gu Yue and Tang Xingxi before leaving.

[Tang Xingxi POV]

Walking through, the room looked as if it was made from pure silver. Green veins lighting up the room, it looked magnificent. A middle-aged woman was the surveyor for this test. Quickly briefing me on the basic, she sent me to my test client.

He was blunt. No chit chat or whatnot, just straight to the point. Anyways, the information I got from him was pretty basic. He had a green ox spirit and he had a fixation on axes. His spirit abilities were also pretty normal/ expected.

Right now, with that info, my mind went into overdrive thinking about how to design his armour. When I was with Wu Zhangkong, I secretly took a quick scan of his battle armour with UBW. I even managed to trace it! Not that I could actually use it. So, I dismantled it and went right to its core functions. Looking at it, I was surprised that its complexity was actually lower than that of an old desktop from 1977.

Yes. 1977.

Thinking of it, I never asked the guy what he's aiming for. Looking back at the tester, I asked, "Oh! Right. What build are you going for?"

"Sorry? Build?" the man asked, brow raised.

"Oh, sorry, I meant what type of system you're going for and what fighting style you have," I responded expecting to get a half-decent answer.

Note, I 'expected' to have a half-decent answer, but got this instead; "Oh, umm, smash! Smash! SMASH! Then, SMMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASH!"

Dumbfoundedly looking at him, I decided to start designing. Looking at the interface, my inner geek drooled at the sight of the tech. It was 3d holographic modelling! Snapping myself out of the trance, I started working.

Knowing the guy was basically a massive meathead, I started working. The finished piece looked like sci-fi armour. (Here is the base image; behance.net/gallery/20264341/Sci-Fi-Armor-3DStudy-of-hard-surface - The only difference is nine axe holsters around the waist, no helmet and a green-grey-white colour scheme).

The special functions I put in were the ability to disperse as much force as the metal it was made out of could allow it to, good mobility and quick instantaneous movement, increase in senses and reaction time of the bearer. The suit itself could also absorb, store and release power given to the suit, either through kinetic energy or soul power from either the bearer himself or a foreign party. Nine axe holsters were situated the bearer's sides and as long as the spirit frequency of the axe was recorded, the user could control the axes without using their hands and recall them accordingly.

Beep! Beep! The sound rang just as I finished handing in the design.

"Oh. Time's up. Bye!" I said before standing up and leaving. Following a staff member, I finally arrived at the lounge. Seeing Gu Yue sitting on a white luxurious couch, I walked up to her.

"So, how did it go?" asked an impatient and expectant Gu Yue.

"Nothing much," I responded.

Putting on a slight pout, Gu Yue's face made me laugh a little.

"Come on, come on, we don't have all day. Let's go to the other associations," I said, holding her hand and leaving the building.

[End POV]

Meanwhile, back at the association…

A green-haired man with crimson eyes was looking at a middle-aged woman. Sitting on a chair, this man was the association president. Tapping his finger on the table, the only reason it wasn't broken was that it was specially made to not break under these conditions.

In front of the man was a device which displayed the finished 3d model of a battle armour. Looking at it closely, it was actually the one that Tang Xingxi had made during his test. The man looking once more at the model. he examined it thoroughly. Resting his elbow on the table, the president started massaging his face.

Looking at the surveyor once more, the president spoke; "So, you're telling me, that a child managed to design something that rivals a 9th rank mecha designer!"

Feeling a wave of formless pressure, the surveyor felt her knees buckle. Meekly saying yes, she felt the pressure disappear. Relaxing for a bit, she suddenly fell to her knees as she heard the president scream at her, releasing a greater pressure than before.

"Find That Child!" the president said. Unknown to him, the Mecha Maker Organisation's President was also doing the same thing after seeing the same child make a 3-word battle armour version of the same design.

As for the 'child' who they are so hell-bent on finding, he was meditating in his room, unaware of the ruckus he had caused that day.
