Chapter 2 - Childhood (1)

"Hahah! I win big bro! although only by one point you still managed to push me that far."

Kuro smiled as he had just managed to beat his brother Lu Ten in a game of Pai Sho by just a single point, Lu Ten was a smart kid for being a 10 year old and Kuro was smarter. Lu Ten was happy and amazed by his little brother as he has someone to have fun with.

~Lu Ten's POV~

I am happy to have a brother like Kuro.

He always puts a smile on my face with his carefree attitude enjoying everything life has to throw at him; he's a fat ball of joy.

He makes me proud to be his brother as he has big courage to step up to the elders when he needs to like Grandpa Azulon and worst of all Uncle Ozai; I remember when when uncle Ozai insulted little bro's carefree attitude so little bro said, "Look at this - I'm a kid and I'm more happier than you'll ever be, you're old and you can't even smile what an utter waste of a human you are!" After this Uncle Ozai was gonna punish Little bro luckily Dad stopped him...stupid uncle Ozai he's scary man.

For someone who seems very childish Little Kuro seems to be very smart for his age, he spoke his first word when he was 2 months old, he could walk when he was 7 months old, he could read and write when he was 15 months old. When we had a counting contest he would always beat me. But most of all from the very beginning I don't know if i'm crazy but it seemed to me like from the very beginning he was born he could understand everything that's been happening, he always had this look in his eyes with superiority.

Although he is very smart his firebending talent wasn't that great and was just barely average, Uncle Ozai would always use this to humiliate Dad and Little Bro. However I've recently sparred with him and although he can't use and make fire well he can still utilise a small fraction for his advantage.

I heard from my school classmates that my brother is rather popular in his year at the Royal Fire Academy as every girl and boy always seem to be crowding my brother...Geez I wonder how? Well at least he's making some friends like Mom wanted him to...poor mom.

My bro seems to if not at school or hanging out with me he'd instead be hanging out with dad and Grandpa as he plays many games. I heard from father he had made a new game called Chess and he'd play with them every time he'd have tea with them.

Little Bro was grandpa's favourite as Little bro would tell him stories like the one about good pirates looking for a legendary treasure. I'd sit in the background and listen - very nice stories.

~ End of POV ~

Kuro sat in a carriage heading of to Royal Fire Academy as he looked through the window looking at the sites of the city like the marketplace where two monkeys were juggling flaming torches to one another whilst a crowd of people were cheering them on whilst throwing money.

'geez...fire nation's society morals are sure messed up. Oh well...' thought Kuro in his mind as he continued looking at his kingdom.
