Chapter 21 - A Visit to the Mayor

"What do you want?" said Kuro as he glared at Shuin, he didn't like to be disturbed right now as he's trying to hurry and look for his brother.

"Come with me! I think I know who knows where your brother is, there can only be one man,m that man has all eyes and ears working for him in this city. My brother, Huai Hon, the Mayor."

"I still need to check the mines if my brother's there!" As he turned his head back to the mine.

"He isn't-"

"How do you know!?"

"Jeez calm down. Because I can sense a person's presence through the ground and leading up to the mine I cannot feel anything there. I'm a great Earthbender after all."

'I don't know if I should trust him yet he's the only one in the city who has my side so I'll trust him for now. But if everything doesn't work out I'll have to destroy the entire city to look for him.' Kuro contemplated if he should trust what Shuin is saying and decided he should.

Phew!

Zang wiped the sweat from his forehead as he saw Kuro and Shuin walking away, his task was achieved of keeping Kuro away from the mines. Then he looked at all the men that were down cold on the ground as they were all easily overpowered by this one young man. ' What a freak!' Zang said in his mind as an image of Yami popped in his brain.

As Kuro and Shuin walked down the streets of Gravelside there were less people looking at them then when they first entered the city and stuck out like sore thumbs even though he still sticks out as the people don't have outsiders coming to this city often. he still has the brand of an 'Outsider' invisible placed above him like a game character that only others can see but not him.

They reach the Mayor's Mansion which was the size of a castle as it was dozens of meters tall and wide with hundred rooms and every side guarded by dozens of fierce warriors armed with deadly blades and bows. The mansion had metal bar fences which secured the perimeter of the mansion and a massive gate stood in front of them which was guarded by 2 meter tall guards equiped in heavy green armour and holding long bladed spears that could cut you in half.

'This place's defence is trash compared to the fire nation royal palace. Hundreds of elites standing guard at every side and a majestic exterior meanwhile this place looks gloomier than my house.' Kuro looked at this place with arrogance before ridding of this unsightly face.

"Let me and him in, I'm the Mayor's Brother Shuin. You should remember me."

"Sorry but I'm not allowed to let you in." said the guard.

"Here then." said Shuin as he passed the guard some Dan (money) into the guards hands, "To help you in your troubles."

The guard nodded as he cupped the money in his hand trying to hide it from his fellow guards as he tells the others to let them in.

As they walk in they find themselves at the main entrance hall the place was decorated with guards and many extravagant riches; the floor was made of marble and there was a teal green carpet going straight ahead; the ceiling had fancy jade chandeliers that had lots of candles. The carpet lead all the way till it goes up three stairs and next to those three stairs was a jade throne with jewls engraved all around it. This entire room looked like a throne room instead of a mayor's office or desk that the mayor's in Kuro's mind would have.

On the throne sat a man who positioned himself with legs being crossed, one arm on his c.h.e.s.t and the other close to his face asn his hand held his cheek. He wore green pants with golden flower patterns engraved on them, he had golden pointy boots and wore an upper body green robe that went up to his t.h.i.g.hs. That robe had golden flower pattern all around making it look more higher quality than those of commoners. He had black hair in a ponytail top-knot that was held by a golen pin; green emerald eyes that brought you in a trance whenever you' look at them as the colour was so vivid you can't stop looking. On his handsome pale face cold blankness was plastered upon it as he seemed very serious.

This guy was Huai Hon, The Mayor of Gravelside or by the looks of it; The Ruler of Gravelside.

"Shuin...I knew you were going to come. No matter how many times I kick you out of here you always come back but this is your home after all we are family what's mine is yours as our traditional family saying." said Huai before he sharply turned to Kuro, "And this must be the infamous Yami I heard about, they say you're strong as an ox as when your pickaxe strikes the ground rock is always sent flying. On your way here I heard you ruffed up some of my boys, impressive."

"Thanks. But I'm here to -" Kuro was cut off by Huai.

"I know! I know! You're brother is missing and so you think we've got something to do with it."

"Yeah. So I'll ask. Where is my brother? Where is Ryu!"

"I don't have him. But I know who does..." Huai said as he was calm and pretty chill when he's talking. "They are called the 'Takers' it is a criminal organisation that is capturing people from our city and selling them as slaves to buyers such as fire nation sc.u.m. They have been here in this city for quite some time and have been giving my miners some trouble; they'd kidnap my best miners and sell them off. You should head there and see if they have your brother."

"The Takers..." Kuro was currently thinking right now of the possibility that his brother has been kidnapped by a criminal organisation and sold off as a slave.

"How come I haven't heard of them?" questioned Shuin.

"Because you don't pay enough attention and you don't do enough research that's why no one trusts you because you give crap information." rebuked Huai.

"Hey! You shut up!" Shuin pointed at his brother.

"No you shit up! Idiot!" Huai shouted back.

"Your a dead brained idiot with a mouth full of trash and can never damn close it!" Shuin argued with his brother.

"Both of you stop it! Tell me the location of these Takers." Kuro stopped the two brothers from continuing this childish scene as e hasn't got the time, he needs to save his brother who must have probably been kidnapped by criminals.

"I was just gonna say..." Huai glared at Shuin before revealing the location of their hideout.
