Avatar: Terror Of The Red Spirit

For the past, over a year and a half, just under two years Kuro was fighting constantly in the war against the earth kingdom. They tried many ways to invade inside like using airsh.i.p.s,infiltration, attacking the walls and even cutting their supplies off. They did many things but every single strategy failed as the earthbenders would always find a way to counter them.

During this war Kuro didn't kill a single person but instead every single enemy he faced he would knock them out as that would fool the fire nation army and he wouldn't garner any attention and he also doesn't want to kill innocent earth kingdom people as that would mean his hands would be stained metaphorically.

His family found out he went missing the next day after he sneaked off to. Everyone in the family knew except Iroh as they didn't want to inform him otherwise he'd stop the war and look for his son himself. That's why Azulon decided to send skilled Assassin's to find his grandson as stealthily as possible. But they did not manage to find him as every soldier wore the same armour and they couldn't arouse suspicion.

Kuro tried to stick close to Lu Ten but the commanders would send him to other station away from his brother but luckily he knew where his brother was and his condition.

Today is the 600th day and Lu Ten didn't die yet which means that today Lu Ten will die; Kuro will stick to Lu Ten today as much as possible without he himself dying as there was still an ongoing war right now and many soldiers from earth and fire each were fighting not just bending but an actual war where people used weapons and right now it seems that the fire nation was losing.

"Hey! Get Back To Your Station!" screamed the commander as he saw Kuro run off.

Kuro arrived at a different battlefield station where there was more fire nation bodies than earth nation bodies. In the distance he saw his brother using all his might to generate a titanic wave of fire; exhaustion plastered on his face as his eyes seemed as if they were sinking as if he was barely holding on before falling asleep.

Kuro rushed towards his brother but there were still many soldiers crowding. Meanwhile he saw a suspicious group hundred meters away from his brother, they wore fire nation soldier uniforms but they didn't have the helmets as they took them off and what they wore underneath were green headbands. That was a dead giveaway, they were not fire nation men but earth kingdom.

Right now time slowed down for Kuro as he saw one of them make a rock bolt and aim it straight at Lu Ten's unprotected head with this strike Lu Ten will die and he needs to act FAST!

'Lightning!'

Kuro immediately thought but generating it with movement would take few seconds and he hasn't got time, he needs instant cast it. Now!

He imagined the lightning from his fingertips and then that lightning travelling in a blink of an eye striking that earthbender dead.

BANG!

A loud noise was sounded as suddenly smoke appeared from a group behind the frontliners, they found that few soldiers were on the ground as they had sever burnt marks but they were still alive. Seeing the green headbands they realised that they were earth kingdom spies and so they were arrested.

Meanwhile Kuro was running to Lu Ten who was about to faint from exhaustion, Kuro ran and slide tackled his brother. Lu Ten landed on Kuro's l.a.p as Lu ten looked up to see a soldier and was about to give this solider an earful but that soldier removed the mask quickly before putting it back on.

"Kuro?"

"Yeah it's me! Bro. Listen! Why'd you exhaust yourself Lu Ten? You became an easy target."

"That's because...I wanted to serve as an example to soldiers to try their best. I wanted to be the perfect prince and meet everyone's expectations of me, since evryone believes that the royal family are the strongest firebenders."

"Never do it again. Now let's get out of here; earth kingdom assassin's and spies have infiltrated our ranks we must retreat for now. I have a way pretend your dead for now."

Lu Ten reluctantly agreed to Kuro's request and so Kuro started to shout to grab everyone's attention.

"OH! No! PRINCE LU TEN HAS DIED!! HE STOPPED BREATHING! TELL THE GENERAL THAT PRINCE LU TEN HAS DIED!"

The fire nation soldiers have all gathered around the brothers as there was a lot of talk that you couldn't even hear your thoughts before they all stopped and silence took over. A commander came over and Kuro could spot a black star on his neck it was the Star Marshal.

They were the Fire Lord's his grandfather's personal guard and assassin's who protected him and carried out his whim's in secret. They were there since the fist ever fire lord but they were a secret of the royal family, well most of the royal family didn't know like Ozai but he, his father and grandfather knew. They only showed themselves to those the fire lord deemed a good candidate. One thing is certain they were very powerful. The reason that they didn't work for Ozai and Zuko is probably because they haven't deemed them both worthy and so the star marshals disbanded after Ozai became fire lord.

These guys were probably sent by his grandfather to look for him since he has been missing, Azulon knew that Kuro was somewhere in the war since his brother was there so he sent few star marshals, some disguised as soldiers and some disguised as commanders.

The Star Marshal commander walks up to Kuro asks to explain what has happened.

"I do not know the prince has fallen out of nowhere and I caught him, I noticed that his breathing has stopped. I would like to further explain what has happened but you must please remove this crowd for this is important, it's something the prince said that he wanted confidential before he died."

"CLEAR!! EVERYONE BACK TO YOUR STATIONS! DO ALL OF YOU WANT TO DIE?"

Everyone cleared and so the Star Marshal stared daggers at Kuro as he hoped this better be good otherwise he'd kill this soldier for wasting his time and risking everyone's life by distracting them.

"So what did he say?"

Kuro removed his mask showing his face to the Star Marshal, who had a surprised face before returning to normal.

"Oh! It's you Prince Kuro! Where were you did you know how worried your grandfather was? Do you know how much time we have spent looking for you!?"

"I apologise. Anyway Lu Ten's alive."

"Yeah I noticed that once everyone left he was breathing."

"Anyway I want you to send this letter to my grandfather and Zuko only. Tell everyone that Lu Ten has died and that I have gone missing in action."

"But what of the general?"

"Don't tell him nothing except that Lu Ten's dead and I'm missing. This is all for our family's sake."

"I understand!" He said before immediately removing himself from their presence.

Kuro picked up Lu Ten on his shoulder and started running to the direction of the harbour it's gonna take a few days before they get there luckily Kuro has few water bottles to last them.

This boy actually planned all this from the start, he wanted to somehow trick everyone that Lu Ten was dead and that he was missing whilst escaping the war with his brother. He wated to deliver a message to his grandfather telling him to escape when he receives it since he really liked his old man.

All this was for the purpose of his family's well being. He wanted his father to grow from this tragedy since before Lu Ten died he was a militaristic slightly hot-headed old man but afterwards he grew away from violence and chose peace. This was all for his old man and his bro. Plus for the good of all otherwise we'd have the evil fire lord Iroh and not the Iroh the great lotus.

Few days later...

"General Iroh! We have received an important announcement from the battlefield. Your son Kuro went missing, they suspect he went to the battlefield but no one can find him he has gone missing. And...your son Lu Ten has died."

Hearing this Iroh's face aged dozens of years, his light dark hair started turning grey at a visible rate, his sclera turned red from anger for just a second before tears started streaming and his eyes lowered.

"What did you say....?"

Splash!

Kuro and Lu Ten stole a little boat as they fell with the boat together a massive splash exploded as water covered them, both the brothers smiled as it was refreshing especially that they are starting their journey together.

Lu Ten looked at Kuro and his happy smile disappeared into a sad frown.

"Little Bro. Why didn't you tell father that we are alive? Why lie to him too? Aren't we...unfilial sons for making our father sad?"

"I know what you mean Lu Ten it breaks my heart that our dad is shedding tears for us right now. But this is all for his own good, when we finish our journey we'll give him a big hug and we'll apologise especially me as I'll beg on my knees for forgiveness."
