Avenger From Another World

It's another beautiful morning, the air was fresh as birds chirping delightfully, the voice and sound of people working towards something while carrying a joyful tone as they were genuinely enjoying their task.

Colourful banners were decorated throughout the streets, people were wearing their best outfit, bards were playing jolly music in the tavern, and trumpets were blowing proudly to welcome to rising of the sun.

Everyone was so excited for today, they had been looking forward to it as it only comes once every around 48 to 50 years, the door of the kingdom has opened wide, visitors from all around the world will be gathering at here, be it commoners or nobles, the olds or the young, male and female, their eyes were sparkles in excitement as they anticipated eagerly for the Heroes Assemble Ceremony.

Well, everyone except one person, who can't seem to fall asleep last night and was walking in a circle, cursing anxiously to the air like it was the air fault that he was in this situation.

(Public presenting?! You gotta be kidding me! Why the hell do I need to stand in front of so many people and present myself as the Hero of Darkness? They saw what I can do, right? I'm useless! And I'm sure by now, the rumour about me being knocked out by one punch had already spreads across the country, judging by how people are looking forward to see the new Heroes Band.)

Xiao stop walking and jump into the bed, he hide in the blanket as he can already imagine being ridiculous and mock by the large crowd that will be coming to see the ceremony.

A few hours earlier before Xiao was feeling all anxiety, Pope Baton congrats him for official becomes the Hero of Darkness as all doubts of him as one of the Demon God army has been cleared, and he also exciting told him the news about the Heroes Assemble Ceremony, he and the others four heroes will be presenting themselves to the large crowd at the presenting balcony, a place where the King used to address issues or simply meeting his subjects and greet them in special day. Each of them will have the chance to introduce themselves on who they are and proudly announce what hero they are.

Xiao's face turned pale the moment he heard the news, the amount of people from the last three days in the audience room were already bad enough to nearly make him run away at the spot because of his trauma, and now he will be standing in front of a crowd multiple times bigger than the last one, just by thinking of the situation makes him chuckled hopelessly.

Pope Baton was too excited about the news that he didn't notice Xiao was trembling in fear, he then pleads Xiao to take a good rest for tomorrow's grand ceremony and leave his room, leaving Xiao who was now going through various kind of emotional turmoil, until now.

A knocking sound from the door before it was opened by the guard that was guarding Xiao's room last night.

"Lord Xiao, Pope Baton has summoned for you, are you prepared and ready to meet him? Because you will be attending the Ceremony once you meet up with him," said the guard with a tired tone, as he never gets enough sleep for guarding Xiao's room the entire night.

Xiao was hesitant at first, he was thinking of holing up in this room until the ceremony ended, while also come up with an excuse such as not feeling well or haven't fully recovered from the overflowing mana in his body or the injury from the duel.

(Even so, Pope Baton was pretty excited about me participating in the Ceremony, and besides, what would the crowd think of me if I refuse to meet them face to face because of my cowardliness, useless or powerless, I'm still one of their hero who will be fending off the Demon God army and preserve the peace.)

Thinking himself as part of the heroes who will be saving the world, Xiao gains a bit of confidence in himself for participating in the Ceremony and faced off a hundred, thousands of people who will be eyeing at him.

(Alright! Time to man up and put on my game face, just like Kang always said, if you're afraid of doing something, be more afraid of not doing that thing!)

Xiao imitate what Kang always did when he motivates himself before any soccer match, he took a few deep breathes, thinking positively for everything will turn out to be okay, he then gives the guard signal that he is ready.

Xiao followed the guard around until they reached a room, the guard then escorts Xiao into the room which he not only find Pope Baton and the King inside, but also the rest of the Heroes Band members.

"Ah! Xiao, good morning, how're you feeling now?" asked Pope Baton kindly to Xiao as he was the first one who noticed Xiao.

Xiao was feeling glad just by hearing the kind voice from Pope Baton and was about to join him, suddenly, a rude voice interrupted.

"What the hell?! Why is this weakling here?"

Hatta was also in the room and he shouted Xiao in a furious tone, which startled Xiao and stops him for moving.

"Hehehe! You have come to join us too, good good, more people, more fun!" said happily by Mila Mila who was also in the room.

Princess Leya and prince Adolf have no comment towards the appearance of Xiao, Prince Adolf was wearing his heavy armour and helmet as usual so there's no telling what is he feeling now, while Princess Leya has completely ignored Xiao.

Xiao stood at his ground while facing the ground as he was too ashamed to face the other heroes.

"Heroes, please, Xiao is also part of the Heroes Band, given some times, he will also grow stronger to fight beside you all as he has passed the trial of the Hero selection ritual," said Pope Baton while beckon Xiao to come forward and join them.

Xiao followed Pope Baton instruction as he walks towards them while still facing the ground, he then stood beside Prince Adolf.

"Tsk!"

Hatta clicked his tongue, showing a sign of irritated by the presence of Xiao, as it deeply hurt his pride for someone so powerless as Xiao is standing side by side with him and they are going to be comrades from now on.

Xiao and the others were standing behind a glass door, and the opposite of the glass doors leads to the big balcony, where thousands of spectators are waiting excitingly for these glass door to be open.

Xiao was shaking in nervous just by listening to the loud sound coming from the spectators outside, he then takes a look at the others to see how are they holding up, before the glass door opens by the guards.

(A hot-headed guy who hate my guts, a childish and mischievous Half Beast girl, a noble, beautiful yet prideful elf princess, and a quiet dwarf prince. Well, hard days ahead, let's just hope that it won't get worse than the days I'm had before at my world.)

With everyone present and prepared, Pope Baton makes a small nod to the guards, which they proceeds to open the glass door.

Everyone walks out of the room and steps to the balcony without hesitation, with the King being at the front of the group,

Cheers and applause burst out with their appearance on the balcony from the spectators below it, as it marks the beginning of today's grand event, the Heroes assemble ceremony.
