Banished Prince Charming

Chapter 69 - The Loot Distribution

Chapter 70 - The Loot Distribution

"Uh... Oh..." I thought to myself, horse shit is about to come down at this moment. Heather gripped my hands rightly beside me. The rest of the pioneers had no way to prevent this from happening. Eagle and the rest were taken aback and was not prepared for this situation.

Heather rose and suddenly kicked the lady guardsman on the side that made her fall to the ground. "Hmph... You still can act in front of my Prince Charming from the same university. You can recognise my husband but you don't even remember me, for I am Heather the Feather. Spirits as light as feather but pinches heavy as a sack of grains. Michelle 'Belle' Ramsgate of Thornaby. Hmph... Would you like to continue your theatre play? Hahaha..."

Unbeknownst to the rest of the citizens, the scenario that unfolded before us was rather a shock...! They didn't expect Heather to kick another lady that was on the grown, kneeling in a soldier's salute...! This was a truly unseen side of Heather who was known to be like a gentle butterfly. Little did everyone knows she could deliver a mighty kick as well.

"Hahaha. Enough theatrical plot for you, Michelle 'Belle' Ramsgate of Thornaby. Return to your seat."

"Don't worry everyone, she's my best friend in the theatre and our young master here played as Prince Charming at that time and was a hot favourite among the rest of the students. She is one of them but too bad, I got to him first... Nyeh Nyeh..." Heather pulled one of her faces and stick out her tongue. Michelle slowly returned to her seat and soon was as dumbfounded as the rest of anyone in the courtyard.

She was thinking about how luck was not on her side. First, the man that moved her heart had brandished a dagger at her throat and now her former classmate had kicked her to the ground.

Everyone laughed and thought it was a kind of play that followed through from school when they were students. Majority of the citizens clapped their hands at the short skit. However, some did not forget when the lady guardsman mentioned the words 'Lordship', 'Prince', 'Macleod' as well as 'kingship'.

The cold sweat that had dropped from my back and covered my forehead was quickly dabbed away. I clapped my hands too and pretended it was some kind of skit. When Heather sidled next to me in front, I leaned towards her and thanked her for it.

We had to pull these 3 somewhere and tell them not to leak the secret out. It's just too harrowing an experience. Once we had settled down our nerves I called out, "Justice Minister Gwen, Domestic Affairs Minister Jack and the 6 engineers that had returned plus these 3 guardsmen please stay on. The rest be dismissed and resume your stations."

Everyone soon returned to complete their task for the second part of the day while some arranged the benches and cleared the courtyard. Only the benches that were taken up by those mentioned by me scooted closer to discuss in hushed tones.

Frankly, our actions can be seen by the citizens who has a sharp sense of observation that all of us were indeed talking of the lady guardsman who blurted my identity.

"Appoint me as your Secretary, Sir. This should cover Secretary of Defense, Military and Foreign Affairs." implied Eagle and immediately Jack seconded that.

"What do you intend to do with these 3 guardsmen. They were supposed to render aid to the kingdom but were overrun by rebels and everyone was killed even before they could react. Luckily these 3 were rummaging the area when one of the scouts intervened."

"Sigh... It seemed that your careless aberration indeed would create a bit of confusion within the community. Sigh... Michelle Ramsgate, you are known to be a cauldron where not even a well-closed lid could shut the bubbling over. To answer your questions, I am who you had mentioned and yes, I am married to Heather."

At this time, Eagle and his 5 other men had removed their hood, which they only removed the mask when they were having their meals. I guessed most of the citizens had sensed something odd with these engineers.

"Teacher... I mean Bishop Levingstone? You...you..." Michelle stammered and she blushed since she had wanted to impress him on the 1st day even if she had only shown half of his top face.

"Yes... One day you would know who I am. Alright, it is a small matter. Let's speed things up." Eagle replied nonchalantly to Michelle and then turned his head to me as he continued.

"That's right. You three were guardsmen of the Swordsmen section right? Rest up for a day before I inform our new Secretary on what your tasks would be. At the meantime, I would suggest them to be the ones manning the watchtowers, they can train to be archers and melee class but if they performed badly at archery, they would fall back to be nightwatchmen."

"Fairly good suggestions there, Sir."

"I will gather my parents' remains to perform the last rites tonight. It would be after everyone had turned in for the night." I told Eagle about it and he nodded.

"No wonder Teacher was lurking inside the Manor, so he was PPFFTT...." Michelle's mouth was immediately covered by Oscar, who was sitting next to her and Eagle waved him off.

"Don't mind her everyone. She was like this since I found her. She was like this all along inside the class too. She's like a whistling kettle that someone has forgotten to take it off from the fireplace. Hahaha."

Eagle laughed as he knew the 3 guardsmen would bear allegiance to the man before them as they wouldn't be in Gillman's in the first place. Besides, these 3 people were destined to serve under the Majesty sooner or later.

"Come, let's see what you had gained from Darlington. Is there much to update from there?" I raised from my 'throne' and walked towards the wagon that was swamped with lots of goodies and it looked as if Christmas had come months earlier this year-round.

Kake gave a whoop of joy the moment he saw the black cast iron smelter on the front most area of the wagon and he saw barrels of what he surmised as W-I-N-E... "By golly, you did really went for a looting spree, eh Eagle. Very well done indeed. You and your men sure deserve a commendation for your service."

"What's those in those trunks? Treasures? I don't the royals did store alit if royal jewels and such." I asked as I saw the trunks being offloaded one by one from the wagon and from the sound of it, it sure is heavy and filled to the brim.

"One trunk is filled with ladies winter wear. Teacher here wanted us to gather as many as we could and we informed to choose ladies, men's and children's winter wear." a smug-faced Michelle answered and then she beamed as she opened one trunk and took a white dress out as muttered, "This is mine..."

"Hey Ramsgate, the last time you said that you had a dagger against your throat. Hahaha." chided one of the guardsmen named Nolan.

"Now you know the reason why all this was looted because of this village run by your Prince Charming... Hahaha." joked another one of the guardsmen named Oscar.

"Carry these trunks to the second level of the windmill. We will distribute it to the citizens when it's mid-autumn. At the meantime, we do not have a need for these winter clothes yet." Eagle directed the three and they slowly lifted the trunks and assisted by the rest of the engineers who were not being deployed anywhere yet.

After the trunks were safely brought up to the second level of the windmill area. They soon joined back and I suggested that these bundles of cloth be sent to the tailor. There would be a lot of clothes to be made based on our coat-of-arms colours as well as others. At least the citizens would feel a sense of belonging when they saw their neighbours wearing the same coloured tunic and breeches.

Heather brought the profession carrying bundles of cloth to the tailor and had placed them carefully on the table that was requested by Innes. The moment the tailor saw the bundles of cloth the had been brought in, she too gave a yelp of surprise and delight. Now she could make more clothes for the citizens with no worries.

The grains were all stored inside the mill where the grains were carefully separated from the flour. Since there was slight damage to the grains, it was decided that it would be made into feed for horses and pigs. The flour looked perfect and was soon transported into the flour shed.

The 12 barrels of wine were wheeled back to the storage shed where it only meant to keep ale. There were twelve 50 pint wine barrels and it was more than enough to spare for weddings and other significant celebrations such as the ascension of thrones. The last sentence was actually directed to me by Eagle and I signed at the thought.

Is being a King that important? What is important right now is providing those who are loyal and making sure that everyone is well taken care of.

The weapons on the handcarts were sent to Jack's store before the rest of the smelter and other stuff ensued. Jack was ecstatic and was 'fondling' the smelter as if it was his long lost forgotten lover. When Kayla saw what her husband is doing, she just rolled her eyes.

Last but not least is the loom. It was brought down to the ground and Chadwells were informed to come and take a look at it. The loom was of better quality and was made of oak. The one she was using was made from pine but these woods wouldn't have any effect in looming except for durability.

"Sir, this loom will be in my area? I think you need to expand a bit sideways and lengthwise to fit this loom and another loomer inside the space. In the end, that area is going to expand as I could teach another lady to work the loom. What do you think, sir?"

"Fine, let's get to it. Jack, arrange for 2 men to help expand the tailor's shop as she deems fit." I instructed and Jack whistled to a group of youth and pointed 2 with his fingers. A couple of youths ran over from the weaving production area.

He quickly gave the instructions to deliver to Public Works Minister and to expand the tailor's shop within the time of 1 foot of shadow's length. She asked for some volunteers to carry the loom gently back and soon, youths clamoured to render assistance.

Finally, it was time for me to retrieve back the 4 sacks, 3 of them containing the clothes last worn by the deceased family members, while one was filled with a pouch and savings. I carried those 3 sacks, while Heather carried the heavy sack filled with silvers while Gwen helped to carry the longsword and crest. There were 4 flags altogether and Gwen helped to carry them as well.

"I take my excuse now, Sir. Call me when you needed me. I would be here with these 3 guardsmen." Eagle pointed out and I nodded my head and turned to leave.

Every step along the way back to the house was heavy. As this would be the last thing that I would remember before I perform the last rites for my dear parents and sister.
