Banished Prince Charming

Chapter 720 - C721 Thunder In The Distant

"His Majesty, two more of those three-headed hellhounds are coming over right now...! They come in pairs and are patrolling the area just like the greenskin scout archers...! His Majesty...huaarrgghh...!"

Aerin let out an anguished scream as her ankle was caught up by the jaws of one of the three-headed hellhounds and it was immediately severed.

The two of the wood elves were within sight and I released the hemp rope around my waist and threw it on the ground and hollered at the archers, "You know what to do...! You don't have to wait for me at all...!"

As I ran forward, I slung my composite recurve bow on my back as I unsheathed my one-handed sword out.

I realised that the three-headed hellhounds are made from lava and I knew that if I conjured up the little flame to assist, it would not be of many effects as they were made of two similar environments.

"FROST BURN ARROWS"

I hollered aloud as I raised my longsword in my hand as I felt a change in the components of the long sword.

The long sword was forged from my predecessor and somehow the material was fused with purified steel.

When I called for the bow attack command, which was chided by Ceres since it was a different kind of command to be used with the weapon I am wielding, I realised how stupid it was at that time.

However, my little friendly flame which was not summoned jumped out and fused with the long sword instead.

The moment I raise the longsword and swung it in the general direction of those wood elves, I hollered out, "DUCK...! TAKE COVER...!"

The sword that I am holding turned fiery red and when I swung it around, it shot several bolts of bluish-white flames towards the two three-headed hellhounds that are hounding on the wood elves right now.

I could not see the extent of the damage, but from the look of terror from Artemis, it seemed that the injury was very grave and the wound somehow was spreading from the ankle right up to the calf.

The injuries are slowly spreading as the volcanic lava-like saliva was slowly eating away at the flesh...!

Immediately when the bluish-white bolts appear and swooshed towards the intended target, Artemis immediately pulled Aerin out of the way.

The three-headed hellhounds were struck and judging from the howls, those two beasts were not affected much by the injury that I was trying to inflict.

"Give the Lifeforce to her...!" I instructed to Artemis and this woke him from his stupor as he searched for the pouch that contained the Health Lozenges as he stuffed a piece of it into Aerin's mouth.

The volcanic lava-like saliva that was eating away at Aerin's leg slowed down its manifestation and finally came to a stop.

I swung my long sword once more and swung again and I telepathically instructed the friendly flame to intensify and to deter the three-headed hellhounds from attacking the two wood elves.

As I was reaching their spot, I had swung my long sword once more and the arrows that I was waiting for had arrived.

*BOOM*

*BOOM*

The arrows finally reached its destination and the impact activated the arrows to explode upon impact.

The two beasts were literally torn apart from the middle as the other two heads were wailing and howling as they noticed that their bodies were torn apart and the innards were literally blown apart by the implosion.

The two beasts thrashed about and after a while, it began to lose its life force and finally succ.u.mbed to its grave injuries.

There was no sense of asking Aerin if she is feeling alright or not at that moment because all I could see was that the saliva and the wounds the earlier three-headed hellhounds had inflicted was very severe.

Even as the spreading of the manifestation was slowed down to a crawl but it did not fully stop the spreading at all. The injuries had now risen towards her mid-t.h.i.g.h onwards.

"LET'S GO. CARRY THIS FOR ME." I threw my bow and sword at Artemis as he was squatting on the ground and felt helpless as he looked at his sister's grave injury and knew that her life is somewhat in extreme danger.

I squatted down near Aerin and lifted her off by her slim waist and placed it on my shoulders as I stood up and then pulled Artemis off the ground as well.

Artemis looked at me in a daze and I knew that seconds count. "Goddammit...! I need to save this girl. First was the brother and now it is his sister."

"As long as they are alive, I am sure that Priestess Isabela would be able to save her leg and life. Just like the Guardian who was injured when the damn three-headed hellhound pounced on his c.h.e.s.t as the lava-like saliva dripped."

I ran forward, one hand which I did not realise was supporting Aerin's b.u.t.t when I lifted and supported her on my right shoulder and my left hand was pulling Artemis along with me.

"Friendly...! Friendly...!" I called out as I ran forward with Aerin bobbing around on my shoulder and reached the spot where the accompanying archers were.

I followed the hemp rope trail and then rushed in through the void and hollered out, " Health Lozenges...! Aerin's been injured...!"

The others who heard my hollers immediately reached for their pouches and handed the Health Lozenges to Artemis as he popped the contents right into Aerin's mouth.

By then the injuries that were manifesting and eating away at the mid-t.h.i.g.h of Aerin had completely stopped.

"We got 30 minutes to bring her back to my town. Let us hurry...! Doc, speed things up a little...!"

I pleaded with Doc and he immediately made a turn about and led us out double time. The two archers that had accompanied me rushed into the void and they too ran forward and lead the way before the others.

They had seen what had happened to Aerin and wanted to get her back to the town as soon as they could.

"His Majesty, how is my daughter right now? Will she be able to regain back her leg like what your Priestess had done for Artemis before?"

Aragorn was worrisome and looked at Aerin but had found her to be unconscious due to the pain. I knew that she had taken a few of the Health Lozenges and her life would be tethering on +1 only.

She had taken 4 of those Health Lozenges and she would be able to sustain her life support for up to 120 minutes or 2 hours approximately.

Doc had made the enchanted tunnel towards the safe point of entry somewhat easier to travel in and it seemed that there is a kind of force that is pulling all of us out of the area and towards the surface.

Soon, we are out of the enchanted tunnel and I was rushing back to the airship. The men were still loading the mithril and obsidian pieces as I hollered out again, this time to the captains of the airsh.i.p.s.

"Bring Thunder out of here and back to town immediately. Quit cargo handling. We have injured friendly. Bring to Priestess Isabela ASAP...!"

I instructed the captain of 2511 Thunder and he understood that the injured need to be taken care of first. The cargo could be settled sometime later next week or when things had cooled down a little.

"Affirmative, Your Majesty. Men...! Load up. We will be airborne in 1 minute...! Bring the injured in, Your Majesty."

"My men will take care of the rest. Any NOK coming along with the injured?" The captain asked and before I could answer, Aragorn had picked his daughter from my shoulders and transferred to his as Artemis followed behind after he handed me my bow, quiver and longsword back.

Unbeknownst to me, Doc, Perky, Amadeus, his trackers followed back on airship 2511 Thunder while the rest of the wood elves adventurers would be boarding the 911 Lightning once the final load of mithril and obsidian had been complete.

The rest of the obsidian and mithril would be loaded up on the next coming trip as the conditions over at the place was not conducive for any humans to be present.

"I will see you back in town. I will settle with my family too." I waved them off and I ran back to the temporary encampment using Lightfoot. It was unfortunate that I was unable to use Lightfoot while inside the void of the invisible barrier as well as inside the enchanted tunnel.

I ran with Lightfoot near the banks of the river and I could see airship 2511 Thunder hovering just above me and then picked up speed and went back towards the direction of our town.

The airship 2511 Thunder was much faster than the 911 Lightning due to its improved design and concept.

After running for some time I had reached the temporary encampment and I could see that the Dragon Boat was moving along the plains at a relatively slow speed since Heather was controlling the vehicle and made use of the children to keep watch of the surroundings.

When the children saw me running towards them, they waved at me and the Dragon Boat slowed down and stopped as I reached them.

"What happened to Sister Aerin and Brother Artemis, Daddy? Are they alright?" HRH JR asked me as I leapt over and landed on the seat and let Heather traverse the Dragon Boat instead.

"Head back to town, dear." I initially spoke to Heather as I turned my attention to the children and informed them of the whole incident.

It had been some time since I had seen my children place their fists inside the mouth and this time was no exception.

They were filled with horror when they discovered that the three-headed hellhounds are now playing the peek a boo game with the humans and the reason why someone had made the invisible barrier was to lure either leader inside and using Aerin and Artemis as pawns instead...!

"Such audacity...! How dare those vile mythical creatures to make use of the innocent wood elves as pawns in such a manner...!

Luckily Aragorn was not lured by the trap and you had brought along some support. Hope Sister Aerin would be alright once she had been transported to our town and be given immediate medical attention."

HRH Amy was worried as well and the most worrisome was me since Heather would be swerving the Dragon Boat carelessly to the left and right as she had been listening to our conversation and was shocked on learning how the person manages to strategise the tactics like a human commander or somehow who is familiar with war tactics.

"Don't you all worry about it, alright? I am sure the airship had reached our town as we speak and right now, Priestess Isabela would have her hands full once again."

"You know, I think your Sister Aerin had done this on purpose because Artemis had been admitted once to the hospital since he had lost his arm once."

'Now its Aerin's turn to do so since the loss of blood would entitle one to great meals that help to boost and replace the blood lost. Hahaha...!"

I made light of the situation since I do not wish to make the situation as tense as this.

The children looked at me with a kind of stupendous look as I had made that kind of statement and when I saw the children looked at me in such a manner, I apologised to them but after a short moment, the children laughed at me because I had a weird look on myself too.

The children knew that I had cracked the joke to make the tense situation to become lighter and not to think of the injured Aerin much as she would be in safe hands later on when she is admitted into the hospital and attended by Priestess Isabela.

Right after that, we made our journey as we laughed at our silly antics and joked around while Heather was at the wheel as she whizzed the Dragon Boat back to town on second gear.

Everyone was anxious to find out the situation of Aerin back in our town and hoped in our hearts that her injuries that were spreading from her mid-t.h.i.g.h had stopped completely and from there she would be on her road of recovery.
