Battle Emperor Chapter 18

He had just put his finger on top of it when Xie Ao Yu felt that there was some sort of cold flow coming out of his chest. He was delighted on the inside. There was hope!

But this happiness only lasted for a second before turning into disappointment because out of his pinky emerged an unbelievable fire.

Shadow Demon Spirit Fire!

When it came out, the Earth Pulmonary Heart Flame immediately began to retreat. Even if it was only the Shadow Demon Spirit Fire’s prototype, it was the difference between them was still too much. It was among the top five amongst the numerous divergent flames.

In contrast, the Earth Pulmonary Flame was indeed pretty good, but it was incomparable to the Shadow Demon Spirit Fire.

It was repelled by the Shadow Demon Spirit Fire.

Xie Ao Yu was a disappointed and on the verge of giving up. It seemed as if it was impossible after all. But he refused to accept that and decided to use his other hand.

“Hu…”

The Earth Pulmonary Flame flared up again, and then shrunk again.

On Xie Ao Yu’s palm there was a layer of weak fire. It seemed as if the Shadow Demon Spirit Fire was about to be extinguished but it still almost killed the Earth Pulmonary Heart Flame.

“It really is powerful. Why didn’t it come out before to take care of the three-tailed scorpion drake?” Xie Ao Yu angrily said.

After trying multiple times, Xie Ao Yu finally gave up.

Seeing the Earth Pulmonary Heart Flame right in front of him but still being unable to obtain it, Xie Ao Yu was feeling depressed.

“Yiya.” Xiao Bai, while remaining behind Xie Ao Yu, extended his head to peek at the Earth Pulmonary Heart Flame.

“Oh yeah. Xiao Bai, you try…” Before  Xie Ao Yu had finished speaking, Xiao Bai scurried away like a mouse, he slid away out of sight.

Xie Ao Yu shook his head helplessly.

This Earth Pulmonary Heart Flame was too strong. For someone of Xiao Bai’s level, it would be too difficult to obtain.

Never mind. It seemed giving up was the only thing to do now.

Xie Ao Yu stood up, got ready to leave, and had already turned towards the exit when suddenly something flashed by him. Someone had run in from the outside, saw the divergent flame, and excitedly yelled, “I finally found it!”

He was so excited that he failed to notice Xie Ao Yu.

Xie Ao Yu stepped to the side, placing the Earth Pulmonary Heart Flame behind him and positioned himself in front of the person’s eyes.

Xie Ao Yu carefully studied the person. It seemed like an ordinary person, probably around twenty-four or five years old, very skinny, his face’s color was a little yellow, and seemed to lack proper nutrition.

“You seem familiar. Who are you?” Xie Ao Yu asked.

“I’m Ge Er.” The person had tears streaming down his face, “Does young master Ao Yu still remember me? Back in the day, if it wasn’t for you, I would have been beaten to death.”
(TN: The name Ge Er is up for renaming. Just suggest something. If it seems reasonable, I’m willing to change it.)

Ge Er?

Xie Ao Yu felt the name sounded familiar. It took a few moments before he remembered the story from two years ago. At that time, he had saved a man named Ge Er.

“You’re the person that Xie Zhe nearly killed, Ge Er?” Xie Ao Yu asked.

Xie Ao Yu patted Ge Er’s shoulder, he could tell that after Ge Er had left the Xie family, everything he had done was for the sake of getting revenge for father.

He knew swallowing a divergent flame was very painful, so he walked out of the cave.

And so it happened, right after he had gotten out, he heard a roaring sound, the piercing screams showed how much how Ge Er was going through.

The uncontrollable screaming lasted for a full ten minutes.

“Boom boom boom..”

There was a burst of explosions that followed.

The earth rumbled and the mountain shook, a waft of the smell of smoke came from inside and rolled out, which made the trace of Shadow Demon Spirit Fire prototype in Xie Ao Yu’s body begin moving,  forcing the high temperatures to stay away.

“Ah!”

After the cuckoo crying blood like roar, the world became quiet again.
(TN: This didn’t make much sense… Chinese idiom?)

Xie Au Yu quickly returned to the cave.

From far away he could see Ge Er lying flat on his back on the floor, his body twitching uncontrollably, the Earth Pulmonary Heart Flame slowly diffusing out of him.

Was it a failure?

Xie Ao Yu quickly crouched down and picked up Ge Er. The moment his two hands touched Ge Er, the tri-colored ball in his chest suddenly began to tremble.
